Fun fact about the Foxtrotter, when Breyer asked people what new models they would like to see. I suggest the Foxtrotter in the fox trot gait. So I was thrilled when I saw that they had made it. So Iron Metal Chief (1st issue of the mold) will always have a special place in my heart and collection.
I am 52 and got Misty and stormy in I think I remember as a set and still have them. That would have been in the early 80s I believe. I also have black beauty, Justin morgan, secretariat, black stallion, a jumper horse on a stand, Clydesdale family, Pegasus, unicorn, Arabian family, old timer who is one of my favorites and others.
Great collection. I've had a hard time figuring out the Misty thing to. I don't think Breyers will shrink as fast or turn oily if their kept in a controlled climate. And yes that is another one that is hard to place in a certain year. 😊❤
I love vintage Breyers! Currently own about 90 Breyers and the majority are vintage. Also would love to know more about those vintage stores you’re finding them!
I never knew about the clocks. That’s really interesting. Funny enough, the second model I got as a kid in the 90s was the Roy Rodgers’ Trigger version of that same mold.
I can only guess about Misty but think the 1973 to 1984 year range. I have the John Henry and got him from JCPENNEY and he was called a Western Horse, Dark Bay Western Horse and they made 6,700 of them. My oldest ones are probably the Family Arabian Stallion, Black Appaloosa Running Stallion, I also have Yellow Mount(he's been with me since I was about 11 years old I'm 55 now😊)a couple of Lady Phase, a Stud Spider I found in eBay that I wanted since he first came out. I'm so glad you love the really old "vintage" models!
I remember getting Cigar and Special Delivery Cigar in 1999, they were so fresh and new back then that I'm still not ready to accept hes called vintage now lol.
Triple mtn model horses has a new in box adios and a few others of that mold in retired breyer traditional online store. I order from them, Edith is great!!!
Misty is the older model. Aging them goes by the white belly mark on the right. In the middle of the belly if the white has a point it’s older the new models don’t have the point off the white.

My jaw DROPPED when you showed that clock- what a find! Gorgeous! ❤️

I have Cigar! He was my grandmother's. She had a couple others that I've inherited, but I don't remember their names. But Cigar is iconic.

I had no idea models could shrink you learn something new everyday 😅😅
I've got 2 collections, Vintage and anything past 2000. I couldn't even tell you who is the oldest lol
What about the breyer horse that couldn't stand up, do you know that model ??

This is the female equivalent of Warhammer collecting.
