Thanks for the mention Peter and the wax with cherry certainly does work well. Funnily enough I’ve been working on a similar project not filming in my ‘down time’ 😀😀
Hi Peter, Nice little build project and easy to make, nice finish with Leo's wax and the leather inserts, love the grain as it goes from corner to corner. as always a great video, catch you soon take care
how timely, just before the holidays. I really enjoy these sorts of small project videos. I am hoping you have some videos planned for the bedside table as well?
Nice box - more of a tray really - and I like the rounded edges of the lining, though the leather ever so slightly protruding at the ends would annoy me. I'd skive it a little before gluing in so it lines up nicely with the wood.
“In this special celebrity edition of Bake Off, Peter uses the world’s smallest rolling pin to roll out his pastry” 😂😂 Only joking, great vid as usual. Seriously impressed with the way the track saw slices through that thick hardwood board!
Attractive design and making clearly explained. Raw timber to finished article without a planer/thicknesses is impressive workmanship. Thank you. I am not sure were those “many mistakes” are! I do wonder why the table saw blade burnt the wood towards the end of the angled cut given the feed rate seemed uniform.
Thanks for another Great video Peter, I just made my first box similar to this, mine had many many more flaws than yours sadly….. I got a lot of tips for my next one from your video.
Thank you! I think someone has done a wooden systainer already! Trouble with wooden cases is that they tend to be quite heavy, but an interesting idea, thanks! 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshopwe know you miss it Peter 😂 just imagine a YT series ‘I’m restarting my cabinetry business’ for next year.. that’ll shoot you to 500k 😂
That’s not deeply floored , we often put ourselves down and as we know plenty of haters and keyboard warriors around . Great job especially with the hand injury
Yes, it was just resting on the saw; I though I may have needed it for the plywood but didn't in the end. I mentioned it in passing in the Sacrificial strip video. WOrks well with the SYS50, but is very heavy. 👍
I've no real need to organise my Cherry or Leather but I gave it a view... nice end result.

Nice build Peter. Love how you did the leather.
Thanks! First time using leather, very happy with how it went together. 👍
Sometimes, the simple things in life...nice work Peter.
Thank you! 👍
At first, I didn't understand what you were doing with the taper cuts for the leather. But then it made perfect sense a few minutes later. Very nice.
Thank you! 👍

Thanks Shaun! Yes, pleased with how it turned out, and with Leo's wax the Cherry comes up a treat! 👍
Thank You Peter!
Thanks David! 👍
Lovely build Peter. Really beginner friendly. Thank you.
Thank you! Glad it was easy to follow! 👍
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Peter, very nice, gives scope for plenty of other projects using this technique.
Thanks, and yes - lots of options there! 👍

looks like a nice christmas present for someone
Thanks, yes! 👍
Beautyfull Peter, thanks.
Many thanks! 👍
Great fun project - wonderful result.
Thank you, much appreciated! 👍
Really nice work for a small box.
Thank you!

This is a great little project.
Thanks, I enjoyed it! 👍
I would have described it as "Deeply imbued with character." Thanks for the tip on scalloping the side to accept the leather.
😂 Definitely, deeply imbued! 👍
Great job Peter, I really like the curved leather
Thanks Lewis! 👍
this turned out great!
Thank you!

Stunning tray, Peter! Really beautiful work!!! 😃
I really liked how you added the leather! It looks amazing!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you, I enjoyed it. And you too! 👍
Nice project Peter! Merry Christmas to you & yours. Take care & stay safe.
Thanks, you too Doug!
You and Leo should do a collab! He could pass on some tips and tricks to work around certain practices you do and save your hand some wear!
Well, I would never compare Leo's injuries to my 'hurty wrist' but he and I do talk and he's been very helpful. 👍

Thanks! Re the scorching, I just lined up the jig on the sliding table by eye, though it may just need a new blade! 👍
No bad if has many mistakes 😁
Have a great Christmas and New Year, Peter.
Thanks for the content over ‘24 looking forward to 2025 🎉
Thanks Doug! You too! 👍
It just needed some felt on the bottom.......very nice
Or some leather feet. And thanks! 👍
Thanks for another Great video Peter, I just made my first box similar to this, mine had many many more flaws than yours sadly….. I got a lot of tips for my next one from your video.
Thank you! Takes practice, and I've made a lot of (much) bigger boxes - I just called them wardrobes, lol!
Very nice. Any chance you could do a vid making a case for a power tool (so many come in just a cardboard box)?

Hola, que marca es tu cierra, de ese tamaño es perfecta para pequeños proyectos como los que hago, saludos y gracias por compartir
Bravo!
Thanks!
Love that your no-nonsense channel is getting into some joinery/cabinet making. It's what we need.
Well, in a very small way, lol! Thanks! 👍

I thinks he makes a living from cabinet making. You seem to be new here ...

Idea for video, where do we source various woods, walnut and more exotic woods in the uk for an ”affordable” price
I'm probably the wrong person to ask, but yes, that would be a good video! 👍
@ you def know more than your regular bnq customer., does :)
Nice one Peter - and two working hands is overrated 😂
Haha, thanks Dean! Oddly I'm definitely happier with two sets of functioning fingers! 😂 👍

There's a reason why i didn't show any close-ups, lol, but thank you anyway!
is that the BOW extended fence? How does it work on the SYS50
Bench dogs I think. Peter talked in a earlier video about it

Dang, that turned out really nice! You know, Christmas is just around the corner, I could email you my address so you gift me one......... :^D
Thanks! 👍
