- In Episode 1 of Scotty’s Scotland Showcase Season 2 we're discovering my home trails in and around the town I grew up in; Bridge of Allan, Scotland.
First up is a tour of my local loop - one I’ve been riding all my life. We then progress to summiting Dumyat at sunrise and riding Colsnaur one of my favourite hills to descend in the Ochils.
In this episode I’m riding my SCOTT Spark Tuned equipped with a Shimano XT groupset, a Fox 34 Grip 2 Fork and Schwalbe Magic Mary and Nobby Nic Tires.
Want to ride this trails for yourself, here’s the collection link on komoot:

Whoever does your video/editing is excellent imo. The angles, contrast, slo mo, shades, views, drone, the imagination and putting it all together. Plus you need a talented rider of course. i'm inspired and can't wait for slightly nicer weather to hit those trails. Thanks
Wow, thank you Scott, appreciate the kind words!
This the visualization of my retirement goal someday. Spending the remains of my age, living on the foot of the hill n shredding all day.
Love all these local areas in Scotland that you do 🙌🏼
Thanks Mark! Appreciate the kind comment. 🙂Hopefully this next batch will keep you inspired!!
Love your Scotland trails! Thanks for sharing

Haha class, cheers man! 🤙
It's not a loop , but a super loop !!!!
Super play ground👍👍👍

Thank you Mark 🙌
Awesome video. Love this format, get to see some great riding and add to my list of places to ride/visit. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks man, really appreciate it! 🙌
Love these videos! Great riding and great footage.
Glad you liked them!
Great video Scotty, It has been a while since I've been up this neck of the woods. a bunch of us used to ride these trails on a Tuesday or Thursday night throughout the summer months. I totally agree, great place to ride.
Thanks Steven! Lucky to have grown up here, always amazes me how good it is no matter what time of year I go!
I’ve recently moved to Scotland from the Surrey Hills and with such a HUGE area of incredible riding it’s hard to know where to start. This series is amazing and exactly what I need for inspiration. Thanks!!
Thanks Josh, glad you’ve found it and that it’s giving you some inspiration. Season 1 has a lot of great rides too and all the Komoot links are in there too!!
Scott Scotty on a Scott in Scotland 😀
Love videos showing how beautiful Scotland is, greetings from Tweed Valley
Thank you 🙏
Brilliant vid, on the list to visit 🙌
Thanks Julia! 🙂
Great way to show how to make the best of your local area.. 👍🏻
🙏
When you say "best", you mean "mess"?
Awesome! Rode all the trails you mention last spring with some other locals. As I dutchman, I can only dream of having such hometrails! Really loved "learn to turn" and the descend from the Dumyat! Although it was super sketchy in pissing rain and stormy weather 😅
Learn to Turn is best done in the the dry, it's a challenge to get right in the wet that's for sure!
Beautiful riding and location make me want to come to Scotland ride and spend time in the woods. Been traveling and riding a lot and this is definitely one of the mint places.
Thank you man, appreciate it!
Buddy please tell me you do mtb tours. I just love how natural your riding is. I want to bring a buddy up to Scotland and just explore none dedicated trails. Awesome video once again
Thank you! As for the tours I’m afraid I don’t however I can recommend H and I as a great guiding company for your visit to Scotland!!
Hello Scotty, visiting the UK and enjoyed your Season 2 videos of your incredible MTB'n adventures. Scotland seems to be a magical place as opposed to my desert riding @ Hawes Trail System in Phoenix, AZ. Cheers...
Awesome, thank you John - stoked you're enjoying them!
As a local landowner close to those trails in the area and mtber, love the content keep up the good work
Thanks man! Appreciate it... Where's your land? Any trail building opportunities? 🤔
@@ScottyLaughland I will reach out to you.

Shhhh, don't tell everyone about MY local trails. 😆😎😎😎
Sorry! 🫣
Hi Scotty. Awesome video. Really nice scenery. Quick question, I have the Scott Scale 930, hardtail. Would it be able to handle this terrain?
Hi David! Thank you - appreciate it man. The Scale would certainly manage it, I grew up riding this on a 26” hardtail and progressed on to a full suspension bike which admittedly is way more comfortable and capable.
are these on trailforks?
You can find the link in the description to download a turn for tour of them!
I can't believe how different your videos from Scottish mtb are compared to Mctrail riders and Tommy chype videos. You seem to choosen the driest and sunniest days😊
We got lucky with this one! Generally try and plan to film in okay weather, these can be long days or early starts and late mornings so makes it so much more pleasure-able to create in these conditions! Saying that, some of the episode's later in the series we aren't so lucky...
Is the skidding your signature move? A real shame if it is...
Is going super slow 10year ago your signature move ? A real shame if it is…
Where’s the skidding? 🤷♂️
@@ScottyLaughland 4 seconds in and nice slo-mo shot of the rear wheel locked...very much aware you are a very fast rider and wheels won't always roll as they may slide, my grumpy old man moan is about the locked wheel that appears to be for show, it seems to be done in all your videos. I guess, I'm trying to request that you show less of the skids for skidding sake, just not in a very constructive manner (my attempt, I mean). Don't slow down, the riding is brilliant, but could there be less footage of the skids, please?
@@Jcscoob Absolutely is...10 years ago that was my fast era! ;-)
@@ScottyLaughland don't listen to this rubbish. Keep doing what you're doing. Skids look cool, and he clearly doesn't know that sliding the bike is faster, more stylish and more fun. skidding in the dry does less damage than a group ride in winter, just sayin, either way we all want to ride bikes and have fun. Nice vid mate.
Stop skidding - you're not 9 years old. If you have to skid do it on tarmac.
Hey mate! Love that you watch the videos but not sure why you always feel the need to leave a negative comment? In no way am I trying to portray skidding but don't even try and tell me you haven't?! I'm an advocate of smart and sustainable riding so my apologies if this doesn't come across like that in this episode!
@@ScottyLaughland maybe stop skidding. You are a great rider and can produce some really nice stuff so no need to do it even it is for the camera. People don't want to see dirt flying off on corners/berms. I'm not the only person to see this in your vids. Its a shame because all it does is promote the same thing for other people to do.
@@MTBScotland Yea, nobody likes roost 🤣....🍆
@@MTBScotland stfu, stop being a Karen it looks great.
@@MTBScotland I want to see dirt flying off on corners/berms and I'm sure other do. you never watched 50to01 😂
