Thank you for sharing. Cherry seems like a very warm hearted and loving lady who loves Jesus Christ. I believe as long as we have received Christ as our savior, this is what counts the most. God bless you Cherry! May God continue to guide you and your family.

It is so enlightening to hear Cherry speak on her journey. Anorexia is something we just do not understand. Some of us who have weight problems wish we could have this disease - just for a little while - not knowing how horrible it is for the person suffering and everyone around them.

Cherry Boone O'Neill a Catholic? Hard to comment on this. I was a freshman at David Lipscomb U in 1953-54. I admired Pat and Shirley, very friendly and outgoing, even though Pat was already climbing with popularity. She goes a lot by feelings, not so much for scripture.

So shocked to hear you embraced the teachings of the Catholic Church. Have you read Hebrews 9 & 10 the Sacrifice made was once for all for all time. There is no such thing as a Catholic priesthood only the priesthood of all the believers in Christ. As for the confessional experience sin forgiven is not by you feeling it but by believing what Jesus said; in the Word of God. I send my sympathy on the loss if your lovely mum. May the Lord bless you and your husband as you journey on.

At mass, we participate in the once sacrifice made by Christ -- which is "re-presented to us", much in the same way that the Jewish passover meal was repeat participation in God freeing them from Egypt. We don't "sacrifice" Christ over again. Catholics also believe in the priesthood of all believers just as we believe in the ministerial priesthood of the ordained -- those who perform the sacraments. Basically, the same as the early Christians did. Council of Nicaea I
      (325 A.D.)
“It has come to the knowledge of the holy and great synod that, in some districts and cities, the deacons administer the Eucharist to the presbyters [i.e., priests], whereas neither canon nor custom permits that they who have no right to offer [the Eucharistic sacrifice] should give the Body of Christ to them that do offer [it]. And this also has been made known, that certain deacons now touch the Eucharist even before the bishops. Let all such practices be utterly done away, and let the deacons remain within their own bounds, knowing that they are the ministers of the bishop and the inferiors of the presbyters. Let them receive the Eucharist according to their order, after the presbyters, and let either the bishop or the presbyter administer to them”
