Why is Willian Nylander allowed to wear his jersey tucked in? Being tucked in two goals in this video already? It's an "Ovi rule", no longer allowed, like his tinted visor lol. The argument was that the referee couldn't see the number behind you back, I think it was more just to stop vintage Ovi "brand" with his tucked jersey and tinted visor to compete against Crosby, whom didn't win the Calder Trophy at the given year.
@@GuyDudeman Sometimes I've seen referees "untucking" the jerseys when passing players, but I don't know really. Maybe the "Ovi rule" is a little more wider nowadays.
NHL Rule 9.5. All protective equipment, except gloves, headgear, and goaltenders' leg guards must be worn under the uniform. Should it be brought to the attention of the referee that a player is wearing, for example, an elbow pad that is not covered by his jersey, he shall instruct the player to cover up the pad and a second violation by the same player would result in a minor penalty being assessed. Rule 9.5 governs all protective equipment, including pants. Players are not permitted to tuck their jersey into their pants in such a manner where the top padding of the pant and/or additional body protection (affixed to the pant or affixed to the player's body) is exposed outside the jersey. The back uniform number must not be covered or obstructed in any fashion by protruding pads or other protective padding, since 2013-2014, Ovi once said, goalies hate when they can't see where the shooters are aiming at (tinted visor). But the goalies hated, when the NHL decided to cut the paddles, obviously.
That's pretty much every 6'4"+ goalie now goaltending isn't about making a big save move about positioning and letting it hit you while you take up as much space as possible. It's not the most exciting things to watch but it is what it is.

The Leafs look OUT OF CONTROL

Leafs are on fire 🔥
Some of the goals against him, it looked like he wasn't even trying to save a damn thing. 💀

He looked bad against the Senators as well
Vasi hates Ontario

Others do too. Garland does.. probably because it would drag on the ice though

If it was fine for Gretzky to do it, why can't anyone else do it?

Tampa might have made the game closer if Stamkos was still there. Guentzel is a good player but he is nowhere close to Stamkos.
