- This is a video of Adrian demonstrating the Daniel Hertz Maria 800 and Chiara system at the 2024 Montreal Audiofest. We decided to record this at the last minute, so the camera microphone was used to capture the sound. Hopefully you can still get a sense of the performance

Thanks for providing the footage from the show, AE! I wish more dealers would do this, because that is a good way of introducing themselves to potential buyers, and their approach to their product offering.
I still remembered the video where Adrian showed the good and bad of being a high end audio dealer. But watching this presentation, you really get the sense of Adrian truly enjoy talking to people and explain everything. It feels true to the phrase, “if you love what you do, you’d never have to work for a day in your life!” Although it does seem like there are cons in being a dealer, what I got away from this video is Adrian’s passion in this hobby of ours.
And the sound captured from the mic was quite great!

Systems like this take courage. They take courage to conceive, courage to build, courage to distribute, courage to sell and courage to purchase. The audiophile community is extremely defensive and skeptical about technology that does not follow the traditional path. Perhaps they feel it a betrayal. I have seen that most are quick to put it on trial and find it guilty without actually listening and or listening without prejudice. I love the complaint about cost. Audio equipment is not food, it's not electricity, it's not medicine. It's not a necessity to have system and if you have one it's not a necessity to have this one. If the price is not to your liking, you are fortunate in that there is a used and vintage market that is excellent as well as there are excellent entry level products. A Hegel 190 and Sonus Faber Luminas. These comments also show a complete failure in understanding the amortization of R&D costs as well as the high costs of small run productions in which there is no economy of scale. More Sonos is sold daily then the annual output of some high end products.
Yes mega clever, when you plan to only produce and sell one or two units, it spikes up the price, its admirable, if it would be that way, but pricing it like there where only 2 made, but them produce plenty, then it becomes robbery, or catch the foul trick.
LOVE how Adrian emphasizes the love of the music and THEN tells us about the D H equipment that he is playing it through. Well done to Adrian, Lewis, Alison et al . . . pleasure meeting you all!

Thank you for expressing such passion for the song Volver Volver. It was written by Fernando Maldonado in 1972 and was interpreted in 1973 by Vicente Fernandez. Fernandez was and still remains one of Mexico’s most loved singers. Volver is still sung by most Mexicans when there is a break up in a relationship or in every home party late in the evening when everyone is drunk as hell…Fernandez rendition is a mariachi composition. This version is a must.

I'm hoping this will be available to hear in Toronto as well this October. I am sure it sounds good but the price doesn't add up. It's not a question of actual price but a question of perceived value. If this is your destination product then no need to worry about value. But I like many in this hobby don't keep their gear for more than a few years. Good luck in the resale market with this one.
Nice You said something about those hifi pieces that people always plays when we get to audiophile territory. Its a shame. I dont even think those recording are that useable to tell much about a system

Correct. Price of a nice Cadillac. It’s a cottage industry after all with no economies of scale.
They have stereo amplifier with two levels of speakers under these for cheaper prices.

Rack is Custom Design from UK, Shunyata Delta power conditioner, Lumin P1 streamer
Sounds like this Daniel Hertz amp has to be paired with these specific Daniel Hertz speakers ???
YES ! ..............and that the right way to create a great system........when you are someone like Marc Levinson and some other great engineers ..or a creative and experienced audiophile.

Not true. In fact Adrian has said that if you prefer other speakers Daniel Hertz will provide you with software a teams meetings to allow the Maria to be optimized to the characteristics of those speakers. Having said that, there is also a benefit to having a system that has been designed to work seamlessly together. Linn has been doing this for years to name just one.
@@enniol8043 Oh... That makes sense but what a ROYAL pain in the XXX to have to engage the manufacturer every time you change speakers. The fact that they are meant to work together is definitely a plus and a minus...
@@ptg01 I don't think you have to but it's to maximize it which right now we do not, right now the amps are not maximized for the speaker

I had a friend that had a very expensive system...........Goldmund, Marc Levinson, Utopia and exotic cables way more expensive than my car..........he had THREE RECORDS !
Hahaha at least he had 3 records. The guy i visited had only 1 cd. And his system was super expensive.

Daniel is Mark Levinson's father's name. Hertz is his mother's maiden surname

Extortion and Greed has everything to do with giving people shit filtered class D distortion amplification with active crossover , an overpriced shit class D system that clips . you think you giving music lovers good audio with good sound , worth its cost , ABSOLUTELY NOT . We are not all gullable stupid audio idiots . This system hasn't got a patch of good quality sound against a pair of 3 WAY ACTIVE ATC SCM ASL MONITORS , FULL STOP .
