I'm always amazed that interviewers never ask about wheel support. NFS once upon a time had wheel support, but the last game did not, and for me any game where you have real licensed cars that doesn't have wheel support is a non-starter.
DW blackhawk the reason you see the M5 a lot because it's kinda a promo for BMW. The M5 doesn't have a story on its own nor is a car you're stuck with for the whole story. It's a car you can buy in the game and customize to your liking.

So I remember back in the days of Midnight Club that we had to learn the roads in order to outmaneuver the cops. Here they just want us to straight up total them and wreck everything along the way. Oooookay? What happened to "racing"? And using the world to your advantage? Seems kind of primitive in design now...
He didn't say the ONLY way to get rid of cops is ram them off the road. You can outrun them. The thing is that it's gonna be really difficult but not impossible to only outrun the cops. I've played midnight club, I thought the cops were too easy in that game. Plus, sometimes ramming is the only way to go when you have cops coming from everywhere, different tiers of cops, helicopters and Rhinos. You can TRY to outrun all of that.
I can ram cops off of the road in literally any open world game with little to no consequences. It would be nice for once if the one genre you'd be expected to avoid cops in would provide some challenge in dealing with cops, rather than rewarding brute force.

Why does it have to be an action game first and a racing game second? Same with The Crew 2, it's trying to be too many things at once. Why can't there be a normal racing game with races and customization, some corny story about a kid rising the ranks and that's about it? Racing games don't have stories anyways. After you're done with the story then all it's left is races anyways so the cops will be after illegal racers at the end. Also, to correct the guy doing the interview, the transition to the Koenigsegg wasn't smooth. Smooth would mean you driving next to the truck at a similar speed while the chick makes the jump, but it's you doing it and not in a cutscene. GTA did it with the stolen boat 4 years ago. "But how would it switch to the other car" yeah easily, you get a slow motion effect where the camera switches to the other car. There are solutions if a team is willing to go the extra step to make their game memorable and exciting but hey, why not make a cutscene, it's easier.
It's still a racing game with those action things on the side to go along with the story. You're still mainly racing like they've said before. It's not a racing game second, where did you even pull that from? They're just giving the NFS "fans" what they wanted, a story. This is different because a lot of the story elements in newer and previous arcade racing games are played out, so this is refreshing. You say racing games don't have stories but that's one of the only thing these supposed "fans" begged for.
