Second time I’ve watched this, it’s really good. Setting nearly impossible targets was my major problem and it did affect me. Good vid Andy, we’ll put over.

Yes @dylanplumley280 more people can suffer from it than we think (myself included). It is based on research into "self-doubt". Keep stepping out of your comfort zone and build confidence every day!

To secure a high-paying job as a fresher after completing engineering, particularly without resorting to job hopping, there are several strategies and considerations to keep in mind:
      1. Build a Strong Foundation: Focus on building a strong foundation during your engineering studies. Pay attention to core concepts, practical applications, and relevant technologies in your field of interest. Having a solid understanding will make you more attractive to employers.
      2. Internships and Projects: Engage in internships and projects during your academic years. These experiences not only provide hands-on learning but also serve as valuable additions to your resume. Try to choose internships that offer exposure to the industry you're interested in and align with your career goals.
      3. Networking: Network extensively within your field. Attend industry events, career fairs, and networking sessions to connect with professionals. Building relationships can lead to insider knowledge about job openings and referrals, which can significantly enhance your job search.
      4. Startups vs. MNCs: Consider both startups and MNCs for job opportunities. Startups often offer more flexibility, diverse roles, and opportunities for rapid growth, albeit with potentially higher risk. On the other hand, MNCs provide stability, established processes, and potentially higher initial salaries. Assess your preferences, career goals, and risk tolerance before making a decision.
      5. Earnings Potential: Roles that involve specialized skills or high-demand technologies typically command higher salaries. In the engineering field, roles such as software development, data analysis, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence often offer competitive compensation. Research industry trends and job market demands to identify roles with high earning potential.
      6. Soft Skills: In addition to technical skills, employers value soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, and leadership. Showcase these skills in your resume, cover letter, and during interviews. Continuous improvement in soft skills will set you apart from other candidates and contribute to your long-term success in the workplace.
      7. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies. Employers value candidates who demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development. Pursue certifications, attend workshops, and leverage online resources to enhance your skills and stay ahead in the game.
      8. Recommended Books: Here are some top book recommendations to help you land a good-paying job:
o "Cracking the Coding Interview" by Gayle Laakmann McDowell (for technical interviews)
o "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie (for interpersonal skills)
o "The Lean Startup" by Eric Ries (for understanding startup culture)
o "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey (for personal effectiveness)
By following these strategies, you can position yourself for success in securing a high-paying job as a fresher in the engineering field without resorting to frequent job hopping. Remember to focus on building a strong foundation, gaining relevant experience, showcasing your skills, and continuously learning and adapting to market demands.
