Hi Ralph, Lyn did answer the tongue question for me in comments a few months back. I asked him if he arched and he said no. What he does (and I paraphrase) is to use the tongue in a U position to funnel air through a sort of tube onto the vibrating surgace. This is hard to do and I so far struggle with the idea but it allows a bit more air through than a tongue arch. His goal is vibration of both lip surfaces all the way across which is what gives him (still to this day in his early 70s) quite probably the biggest high register sound of any current practitioner. He says his compression comes mainly from the intercostals, and of course Lyn is something of a fitness fanatic, though his tongue must also create part of that. He uses a small V cup rather than the double cup design used by most TCE practitioners and says the sloping sides hold the lips in the required position. It's an interesting take on the situation and certainly produces some stunning results. I do hope that you manage to meet with him in the not too distant future and exchange both your ideas on the subject. I'm sure you will both be able to go into much more detail in an actual meeting.
He is an amazing player in the upper register!! I called Lynn years ago when I was living in Vegas to take a lesson.. over the phone he said to me “ if you take a lesson with me forget everything you know” he’s a really nice guy! He told me he had a gig in LA and he sat down and looked to his left then to his right and it was Audino and my uncle Ray Triscari and he said to himself “what the hell am I doing here!! Must be for the high notes” lol Unfortunately I never had a lesson with him.. I don’t think he’s played a gig in 30 years… As always great Video Ralph

As always great Video Ralph
He is tremendous at what he does! As I said in the vid the compression he creates is otherworldly! Keep in touch, Ralph
