  • Las Marias, Puerto Rico is known as the “Pueblo de China Dulce” for the abundance of sweet oranges grown in the cool mountains of the area.
The annual Orange Festival in Las Marias is a 3 day event of food, music, entertainment, and artisans held in the middle of March. Located in the town center of Las Marias, this family friendly event is well organized and very popular!
As this is the Orange Festival, there is fresh orange juice and beverages, orange pique hot sauce, and orange desserts! Most artisans and food vendors accept ATH Movil and cash, with only a few accepting credit cards for payments.
The best orange cake (Bizcochos de china) and cheesecake is from my friends at Bizcochos la Fe.
There is a massive covered tent area packed with artisans selling jewelry and accessories, leather goods, carved wood, and more.
Away from the main stage is a small amusement park with carnival rides and a wooden plank carousel.

PR's festivals are awesome and very family friendly. Did you go to the coffee festival in Yauco? I happened to go by coincidence and had a great time.

Never pay 10.00 for parking in Puerto Rico. Also this event is full of fried foods and fresh fruit.

Hi Jen, love your videos I've been watching a couple of years now. I am moving to P.R. later this year hopefully .
Do you know an English-speaking realtor that you suggest?

Realtors are area based, many are bilingual. The real challenge is getting them to return your phone calls.
Start with Classificados & Facebook marketplace to find realtors in the area you are interested in. Here is a helpful guide for your move to Puerto Rico jentheredonethat.com/moving-to-puerto-rico-start-here/

Hi Jen, thank you for sharing! I went to PR with my husband like 3 weeks ago, and I’m trying to convince him to move to the island, but he’s afraid of the language. And I see you having fun and enjoying the island like nothing, good for you ❤

Speaking basic Spanish really helps for getting around the island. I am very good at discussing food and activities in Puerto Rico now. Once you have some key phrases, it is much easier to learn in day to day activities in Puerto Rico.
