That was me too. When I was young, I had to go to the dentist often. Little do I know that one clear sunny day would be a bad sunny day. I didn’t know what I was getting into. When I know, I was in pain because of child crowns getting shoved up my gums.
Crazy how most dentist/doctors don’t realize how well this works or just don’t care. Respect for making life easier for people by making them smile in less than easy situations. It can really make the difference for the kid and the parent too knowing their kid is in good hands.
Dude, pediatricians go above and beyond. My regular GP is kind of impersonal and she always asks to pray for me instead of actually prescribing me treatment...but my ob/gyn is super super friendly and cool. She called me superwoman 😂 I appreciate that.

Some doctors are just not great at bedside manner in the same way that smarter people tend to be more antisocial. It kind of sucks, but I’d rather have an awkward surgeon than a friendly radiologist do my heart transplant 😂 (of course radiologists are super smart and capable, they’re just trained with very different skills).
My dentist used to tell me there was a sugar bug in my mouth and he had to go in and get it out, and the pinch from the needle was the “sugar bug biting my cheek.” I totally believed it until he sadly retired and my next dentist revealed the whole truth 😭
I don't think dentists should be telling people that they're going to stick a ginormous needle into someone's mouth (the reason I know that it's ginormous is because my sister was gettin a filling and I saw the huge needle.) I thought it looked like a freaking sewing needle 😭

I have basically a phobia of the dentist because every time I've been it's a bad memory. Last October ish, i had to go get fillings and it hurt so much and they had to poke the needle again which didn't help. Think that made my phobia worse I basically had a panic attack while they were drilling cuz I knew it was gonna hurt more as soon as they went back in with the drill 😭✌
My daughter had a really bad experience with a dentist when she was like 5. It terrified to all doctors. She is 24 now and still brings it up. I wish she had you as a dentist.
i wish i had you as a dentist when i was younger. my dentist as a kid was straight forward and didn’t make it fun whatsoever by showing the tools or anything at all. 😭
What he’s doing is called the ‘tell show do’ technique taught in dental school. We have to think of nice ways to explain things to kid for example if we want to use anaesthesia with an injection, we call it sleepy tooth water or something else along the same lines. Then we show then how it works by spraying a little out and only then do we inject. Really helps with their apprehension
Dentists like him are reasons why I'm not scared of the dentist. My dentist is so nice, and he is so understanding over people fears of the dentist. My mom has really bad anxiety towards it due to bad experiences in the past, but him and everyone working there made her so much more comfortable with the dentist! All it takes is a little bit of understanding and being able to make someone smile. Keep doing what your doing! 💜
As someone who works for a family DDS at a private practice, videos like these make me so happy. 😊 It's soooo important to be proactive and speak openly with kiddos. They should never be afraid of the dentist!

My dentist legit makes me cry everytime and I have such bad anxiety my entire body tenses and starts shaking so they have even more trouble and I'm actually terrified of dentists but this makes me happy to see
This dentist is very good with kids. It kinda takes the edge off or distracts them. I’m a nurse (retired) and when I would have to give an injection to a child (in a pediatric clinic) I would tell them “I know you’re scared and that’s normal. I get nervous too. It’s okay if you cry and scream or anything except I just need you to be real still and it’ll be over real fast .” Then I would kinda jabber on with something that I knew they were interested in like a super hero or something. A lot of times it worked but sometimes I had to call in a coworker to help hold them still. You’d be surprised how strong a toddler is though. 😂
