As a Mars in 10th conjunct regulus, I have learned that first you play your role. Learn from the boss, to avoid conflict. Your time will come, just make the most of it. It's much of a karmic placement. In your youth, you fight to make your place, mid age you learn from your boss/leader, after you apply your knowledge, but it won't be effective if you didn't learn how to follow, in your youth. Everything you said here - amen! I have been married for a long time to a Mars in the 10th house guy. Yes, this placement makes him a Martian! Intense. Driven. Argressive. Ambitious. Competitive. A powerful work horse. Oppositional. I don't think we grow into our adult personality until we have experienced our first Saturn return. I married this man when we were young. So I have mars in the 10th house but it is debilitated in Cancer squars Aries (venus) in the 7th but trine Jupiter in the 6th house. it makes it harder, any planet with Saturn needs to work harder to get what it wants, it can make one more frustrated when things dont go the way they want, so it takes longer to fulfil the house potential
