    OOMMMGGG!!! OMG!!! I AM ABSOLUTELY SPEACHLESS!!
    This has GOT TO BE one of the BEST if not THE BEST videos I've seen of this msr tent!! You guys are absolutely amazing!!
    I've seen a few reviews of this tent on RUclips but this just knocked them all off!! Unbelievable! You were thorough, details, clear and amazing footage!!
    I too love this tent and am really considering it! As a solo female hiker!! I am worried about the tent but it's the most I'm able to afford on a tent!! Can't justify £300+ £400+!!! It's way too rediculous!!
    And I really liked all the features of this tent! And the most important, I wanted to know if it's able to have a line for cloths inside it. And you DID IT!! The only ones I've seen!
    Amazing!!

    super video, very comprehensive. Just what I needed to help me decide between this and an Alpkit Ordos 2..I think the MSR wins and thanks to your video I will buy it. I need this tent for bike touring so Im not too concerned about the weight but I was concerned about the size of the tent in the bag. From looking at other videos I thought it was just too big and I was just about to take it off my list. The Alpkit Ordos 2. is much smaller when packed and lighter. But after watching both your videos you answered the question..thank you...MSR wins!!!

    Thanks for the reply - I have now bought one and used it in late March at minus 5 but with no wind. It was rather cold. I think that I will be sewing some fine nylon or polyester over some of the mesh vents. It's not an ideal setup for three season use in the UK - more of a summer tent really. However, the Hubba Hubba has even more mesh - it must be even colder. I hope MSR look in on these reviews from time to time - less mesh please guys. Make a tent for the cold and draughty British Isles 🙂

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld 2 года назад

      Yes, there is quite a bit of mesh all around so it can't be recommended to use in freezing temperatures unfortunately. Let us know how it went with sewing, it may be very useful to learn. Hope the MSR team will come up with a new tent some time soon:)

      Hi, thank you for the feedback! It seems like between Elixir 2 and 3 there is 600g of a difference so it can be significant or not depending on your priorities. For hiking and carrying tent in the pack Elixir 3 may be a bit too much in our opinion as Elixir 2 already is on the heavier side and it is quite spacious too. But for the camping facilities is may be absolutely fine. Hope it helps🙂

      Hi, thanks for the feedback! The Elixir 2 is a great tent to start our with if you are not too considered about weight, that's why it is hard to compare it with Hubba. We do share some more basic sizes of it in our previous first comparison video here: ruclips.net/video/esZ5mpz9c3s/видео.html And we don't have any bag recommendations unfortunately as we used what we had which are just simple basic sacks for the most part. The Elixir on my scale, minus the footprint, is 4.8 lbs. The Hubba Hubba NX 2 is listed at about 3.5 lbs (and doesn't come with a footprint). A 2 person tent is usually divided up, so you are only saving about 1/2 lb per pack.

    I now have this tent and have to say it has a design flaw.The roof of inner tent is very flat which mean water droplets from condensation form on the inner and seep through the mesh making me very wet by morning.I do have the vents open as well as the doors of the flysheet but I still get wet.Does anyone else have this problem?

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld 3 года назад +2

      We got this type of condensation when the weather was cold and humid and when it was raining but it still wasn't too major and we could dry the droplets with the tissue. It wasn't going through and wetting our bags inside, that was the most important. But still condensation will depend a lot on the climate conditions in a particular place. So would be interested to hear what other people have to say on that matter.

      As we mentioned in the video we wish it could be lighter, but it is totally acceptable for the quality and comfort it provides. Hi, thanks for the great review. I also got this tent. Have not been able to test it that much yet but think disconnecting the poles is somewhat tricky. It is Said that you preferably should start disconnecting poles from the middle meaning less resistance on the shock cord. Noticed that you simply started from one end which seems much easier. How is your experience with this? Otherwise from that I only feel that the fit for connecting the rainfly to the crossbar is very tight on my tent.

    Great tent but please change the pegs for decent pegs like the MSR Groundhogs. It will survive a shower with these standard shepherds hooks however the pegs will be the tents weakest point. Setting poles as in this video where one pole travels under the other at both ends makes the other pole shorter. You will not be able to line outer fly seams with poles putting undue stress on outer fly resulting in shorter life span/damage and eneven pitch!! 😇
