- Ehm, and....
In this video I want to present my remote opening frunk, interior upholstery, shifter cover and more!
In diesem Video geht es um meine ferngesteuerte Kofferraumklappe, Türtafelbezug, Schalterabdeckung und mehr!
Check Out the next video for the installation Guide!
Just found your video. Thanks for sharing your ideas with me. ✌️
Hey there ✌🏼 c:
Would definitely like to see how you did the electric latch mod. Definitely something I didn't think was possible but glad I know. Also recommend lift support struts for the hood so you dont to use the stick when you open the front trunk. Will need to trim off the side of the plastic to make it properly fit flush when closed but definitely looks Factory if you cut it right.
I am currently working on the lift struts! Once they are installed I will make a video on all the Frunk mods :)
I love the fabric on the door Cards, very Classy !
I always fixed the hanging Shift Boot with a simple Cable Tie on both of my Cars, but the Cover is very nice too.
Thaaaaanks c:
Great mods! Also your music choice is on point.
Thanks :D
Yes, video instructions please!!
I see you found it already :D
Some great mods and ideas...many thanks
No worries :D
Love the remote function bonnet, would love to see the technical video behind that. I always hoped someone would make a H plate or shift plate like the one you showed. Mine doesn't have a shift boot because I don't like the way it looks. Have you seen the 'Ball' style shifter in 8th gen Honda Civic ? just throwing that out there as an idea that comes to mind. The door trim looks ace ! Is the 'door latch' plastic clip easy to remove? I'm concerned about breaking it. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
Thanks for the comment! The door plastic is kind of tricky to remove but its super solid. I've pulled on it pretty hard from all sides until I got it off an it's still one piece :D
Then I might make the remote bonnet video!
@@PlaneTMRS Thanks man, appreciate your help and look forward to future videos on your MR-S :)
Update: I learned that you can supposedly adjust the throttle cable tention on the throttlebody so maybe i'll try that :D
Update #2: now 1 Year later the PLA Bumper Inserts finally gave up to the sun and warped ever so slightly so they kept falling out of the clips. Printing them out of ABS would however solve this problem!
*Update #3: The 3D Printed Parts are available in my own onlineshop! Check out **roadstars-automotive.de** c:*
You can check out the next video on my channel for the installation guide!
I was going to comment on that but u already figured it out 👌🏻
That shifter cover is a very interesting mechanism, I'd have preferred if it could have been a "Gated shifter", but like you said the base of the shifter is too wide for the gates to fit. Do you have a stock shifter? I wonder if aftermarket shifters are thinner and may make it possible to be gated?
I havent seen any that are thinner sadly so I don't thinikits possible :/ but if I have another idea i'll try :D
@@PlaneTMRS Yeah, I don't recall my C's / TRD "Hybrid" short shifter looking any thinner than OEM.
Maybe a cheap ebay spec shifter would be thinner, but then obviously your quality of shifting would plummet.
🔥
I'd love that shift cover!! How can I contact you?
Hey thanks, best would be Instagram I think. @p18osakamr2
what parts do i need to buy this and add to my trunk engine bay
Check Out my latest video where I explain everything!
You just need a universal central lock kit for 30bucks and a little spring ☺️
It should work the same on the engine hood
If one day you'll want to install an hardtop could you scan it with fixation and provide us like this I and other users could have the possibility to print it in 3D thanks
An interesting Idea, however, one of the main purposes for a hardtop is to increase chassis rigidity, I'm not sure if the 3d printing material is strong enough to survive the stress and could lead to cracks/damage.
Also you'd still need all the gaskets/window seals/mounting brackets to complete the hardtop which are currently very expensive, I suppose if the 3d printed hardtop was effective/affordable, someone else could start reproducing the mounting kit/gaskets and then they could be combined to make a budget hardtop for sale.
@@absolutezero7344 there is a company in California which produce hardtop for mr-s for around 2500$ with fixation and gasket and window
@@romainfaure40 Are you talking about the VIS carbon Fibre Hardtop?
3d printing a mould to produce a carbon fiber hardtop would be possible but a complete top out of the printer wouldn't be really useful :D
@@romainfaure40 Yeah I remember looking at that before I got my OEM hardtop. I think it has a couple of problems, Firstly I think you have to assemble it, by attaching mounting brackets to the Carbon Fibre (which can be difficult), install window (if it came with one), attach the "universal" gasket seals.
Also I think the rear mounting brackets are just a metal plate instead of a clamp like the front so if you want to have the hartop removable you need to buy 2 more clamps (apparently MX-5 ones fit). Also the rear tabs of the VIS hardtop that hook onto the trunk exterior are not made of metal (like they are in the OEM top) so are a potentially weak point (this would also be the case in a 3D printed top).
Also there is apparently no headliner in the VIS top, just bare material.
