Been on my spiritual awakening journey since 2011 but recently gotten more in depth and focus on my cultural side. This podcast episode resonates deeply and makes wants to dig deeper. 🙏🌸💚
Mahalo nui. I couldn't turn the interview off. Aloha is reciprocated. 100%. One thing a lot of us struggle with is Ho'oponopono. Especially with self. Appreciate the mana'o.
I had a similar situation with my ʻinoa hope. I think it is still important to get permission from your mākua or kupuna before making your decision on it so you know their thoughts and perspective. It’s respectful to do so as kanaka. We changed our name from a hānai name to the name of our Hawaiian ancestors with the Intenent of having our moʻopuna knowing where our ʻohana came from which i never knew til i was older And did our geneology. I was lucky enough to get the blessing of my father before he passed to change our name back to the name of our bloodline. I have zero regrets of doing it in the way we went about it. Best of luck to your ʻohana in that journey
