Lymbyc Systym - Downtime (Snakeweed Sessions)

Jared and Michael Bell of Lymbyc Systym are brothers.
That fact shouldn't be fascinating. But in their case, it is.
Spending time with the electronic-rock duo for Snakeweed Sessions was great fun. Then we soon realised something.
The brothers are like polar opposites.
Mike is animated, highly outgoing and not adverse to a little chaos.
Jared is more reserved, careful and almost zen-like.
Their music thrives on this throbbing of contrasts. The tension gives them energy. Mike's driving beats and Jared's melodic keys are always looking out for each other.
It feels instinctive. And this chemistry naturally becomes the voice one should listen out for in their instrumentals.
Here, they grace us with "Downtime" off their upcoming album, slated for release later this year.

I like how Michael has a very playful, almost kid-like style of drumming, yet he is very accurate, tight, and damn good. Looking forward to this one, just like I was with Shutter Release.
