Just finished the game... It was bittersweet, everything ended well, but knowing that Adol will probably see everyone in Balduq only once more in his life is heart crushing. I really liked this cast, hopefully in the sequel we get to see some rumors and cameos of the Monstrums.

Seeing that photo really makes me wanna play the game, IX Cast seems really fun and i really Like Raging Bull after all, nice.
I don't always like every party member in Ys games, but I loved all of them in this game. Definitely a good range of characters.

My favorite parts were Jules walking, Yufa and Felix’s wedding and Anemona hugging Apriles

The hug does not seem to be canon and is more symbolic for fun. Doll is actually taking care of zola while aprils is working at the shop. I don’t think zola reconciled with aprilis
Thank you so much for sharing this series, the Ys franchise is one of my favourites, and I hope to purchase theirs games someday (except Ys Origin, because I won a Steam code from a Xseed Games event)...
I would absolutely love it if I’m the next game we get too meet past characters again. Like The Monstrums, The Islanders, Greis etc. etc.
At least it’s a small comfort knowing we always will have Dogi. Just hope they give him a bigger role eventually other than a mitigator and side character.

god...I freakin love Ys. Here I am already wishing for a next game soon but also not wanting to let go of these characters, it's too bittersweet knowing their time together is over. Hurts to love a series that constantly moves on, but that's what adventures are about I guess.
Are you gonna be uploading the fight against the final sideboss btw? That one is a hell of a mess, the kind of mess I want to see you obliterate!
I’m the same way! It’s like, you literally have life and death situations with these people on the daily, you help them immensely, and you grow close with them, then when the ending rolls around they pretty much say and act like they’re never gonna see each other again! I really help in the next game we get to see old characters again.
TL;DR I’m basically like Krysha at the end begging Adol not to go.

He was the Holy Swordsman, another companion of Rosvita 500 years ago, put into the body of a Roo by Zola lol
I didn't bother recording the sidequests outside of the main cast, but yeah every character had some pretty decent background stuff going on.

So where will Adol go for his next adventure? If he ends up in Garman, he might reunite with Laxia. I can only imagine how she would react if he tells her that he encountered Primordials again in Balduq. XD
Lol, she'll be so annoyed that she's spending so long researching Primordials and their bones and then she finds out somebody reconstructed living ones from his freaking memories, and THEN Adol had to kill all of them. She'll be so tempted to destroy her desk after hearing that.
If he goes to Britai, 99% chance for another ship to RIP as he tries to go overseas.

Indeed it is. Adol freed his companions of their burdens as Monstrums and they're now free to live their lives as they see fit. And we can tell from the credits that they're definitely making the most of their new freedom.

Not sure why Zola thought Adol's memories of the god-like beings he's met would create a benevolent entity. Clearly Zola wasn't as intelligent as he thought as he was.
This has definitely been a fun ride. Hope Falcom keeps the Ys train rolling. We need more titles like Lacrimosa of Dana and Monstrum Nox.

Yeah i mean did he even research in Adol's memories that everything go wrong when doing something like this. And that woman still blames Adol and his friend Dogi about this unbelievable events in Balduq unbelievable.

If you think about it Zola wasn't evil. He truly was trying to help Aprilis and the Monstrums. If he had thought things through more and managed to create a God that actually did what he wanted it to he would've truly become their savior.
@@LoneWolf982 No, he wasn't evil. He was genuinely trying to stop the Grimwald Nox. But he was arrogant, conceited, deceptive, and all too convinced that his way was the only right way. And the whole time that he keeps talking about freeing the Monstrums from their curse, he seems to forget that he's the one who turned them into homunculi in the first place, thereby consigning them to an eternity of conflict. So I wouldn't call him good when his sense of good and evil was so self-centered.

After the final battle, you see 6 orbs around Adol. These animas are born from the memories of six people Adol knew well that... are no longer around. And they certainly return the favor by giving Adol the chance to be rid of the Grimwald Nox once and for all.

Black Orb: Dark Fact
Yellow Orb: Eldeel
Blue Orb: Tia
Cyan Orb: Dana
I figured that the black orb would actually be Ernst as he'd be a bit less hostile to Adol than Dark Fact, but maybe it was confirmed elsewhere.

Not an old lady, IMO. I think it's Zola. After his injuries and the loss of his alchemy lab, he's probably aged a lot.
If it IS an old lady, I think Aprillis just decided to stay in Balduq and help out the elderly.

Did it bother anyone else that Adol didn't immediately recognize Dana's voice like the players did? I caught myself saying "ADOL WTF MAN" 🤣
Anyway, loved the ending for this game. Would have liked to see/hear Doll in some capacity but I can live with the note and pictures of her in her human form. Gave me some serious Trails vibes with the ending portrait at the end.
Adol doesn't remember Dana. At least, I don't remember 8's ending that well. Might have to watch it again.
