    Enjoyed the pod. Just a heads up, but by finishing between Nos.126-150 on the points list, Wesley will have conditional status on Tour next year. He also has Past Champion status that will get him into some events, and he can use sponsor invites to get into events as well. He'll get as many Tour starts next year as he did this year, if not more. He also has the option to play Q School final stage in a few weeks, where the top five earn Tour cards. I haven't seen if he'll play but I would guess he will. He did last year. Anyway, his PGA Tour situation for 2025 is far less dire than you guys made it out to be.

      Exactly, I’ve seen several podcasts making it sound like the #126 player loses all of his playing privileges and is completely out of a job! How do they think he got into all the events this that he did this season?? The downside to having conditional status is it makes it harder to plan a schedule. He won’t be able to pick and choose which weeks he wants to play, but he’ll get 15-20 starts at least.

    Idea for content. Years ago there was a twitch channel that had the chat controlling the game, it was enitely based on comments. Twitch plays pokemon. Pete plays live, poll during him walking between shots, most popular choice on club he uses, can't use the same club twice on the same hole. Break 90

  • @danscowtrap5252
    @danscowtrap5252 Месяц назад

    For ideas, you could do a tournament with the big RUclipsrs of England. You could do a break 60 from the forward tees. You can do a series with famous soccer players. You could do a break 75 with old sets of clubs. You could a ran and play so you play a game as fast as you can. You could do a series where you play in the worst weather but no lighting play safe. Just a few ideas I hope they help and if you take a idea I would not mind a shout-out.

    Idea for a Bryson type video ..
    Do a forfeit ..like have to jump in the sea ..example ..
    However to avoid this you start of with 20 golf balls to hit a target x amount of metres away ..next day 19 next 18 ..so it's a countdown ..
    If you succeed ..redo another different forfeit ..different amount of golf balls start with 10 ??

    Wes didn't "lose" his card, he didn't even have one in 2024. He just missed out on securing it for 2025. He basically had 0 status to begin 2024 but got a sponsor's invite in the Dominican Republic and finished 2nd which gave him access to a bunch more events and the fall series.

    • @BrianBowman-mw9vt
      @BrianBowman-mw9vt Месяц назад

      Exactly, and next year he’ll have conditional status for being 126-150 which will get him into a dozen or so events and also allows him to accept unlimited sponsors exemptions. And if he plays well early next season it’ll open up more chances to play if he wants to. These guys make it sound like if you finish 126th you’re out of a job completely!

    • @craigvn1
      @craigvn1 Месяц назад

      @@BrianBowman-mw9vt Yes. With 50 events, and most guys playing around 28-30 a year, it make sense that they are going to have to fill out a lot of fields with guys 126+ on the OOM. Wes could probably quite easily play 20 events next year if he wants.

    About the DP Tour golfers and how they feel about LIV players back on DP Tour and the Ryder Cup participation:
    How does the DP Tour golfers feel about the top 10 golfers every year going to the PGA and still have all the benefits of being a DP Tour golfer...? Sounds like 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
    Golfers work is golf...and they should be able to play where they can earn the best money. If one doesn't join or isn't invited to join, what gives that one the right to criticize and sanction the ones that do...?
    PS:
    Cam went back to Australia and placed in top 3 in the 3 events he played so far. Dean Burmester went to South Africa, played 1 and won 1 (Last year he won 2 and Louis Oosthuizen won 2)...so obviously LIV golfers are still as good and even better than the golfers on other tours...even playing on LIV where some people money and winning doesn't matter...just saying

    (16:10) Wesley has conditional status for the 2025 PGA TOUR Season because he finished 128. Finishing 125 through 150 qualifies you for "conditional status" which means he has "Special Temporary Membership by earning equivalent non-member FedExCup points to No. 150 on the prior year’s standings. Special Temporary Members then can accept unlimited sponsor exemptions through the remainder of the PGA TOUR calendar including the fall portion, upon crossing the STM threshold (non-members can accept up to seven sponsor exemptions in a season). Players who earn Special Temporary Membership also secure a spot in a conditional category on that season’s TOUR Priority Ranking". Plus... as a past winner, he will play in the RBC Heritage too. So he will have more chances this coming year (2025) than last to improve and secure his spot for 2026 (despite the new changes) since he finished OUTSIDE the 150 in 2023. It will only become MORE difficult after next season because only the top 100 will keep their tour cards... so another 50 players will lose their tour cards and NONE of them have a RUclips career to fall back on!

I mean if the millionaires (players) arent making the money then the billionaires (tv executive etc) are making ALL the money!!! I know who I'd rather see get the money. by "be more valued " you mean getting sht for nothing,for having a RUclips channel(it exists thanks to George, wesley put as much effort into that as his tour card tbh)??
      He was valued on the pga tour, his level of golf WASN'T, ya'll crack me tfu "pga tour is so mean took a youtubers card because he couldn't keep it. foh with the handout mentality, his brother's been taking enough handouts by playing in these tournaments taking a spot from someone that is grinding spending their own money on the feeder tours all year. Wesley bryan lost his card because he didn't grind enough to keep it,too good to go to the gym according to himself (guess what,rory and scheffler still work out every day),practice rounds every single time "zero warm up as per usual ",GOOD LUCK keeping your card against guys WAY more sharp and talented than you doing that. One thing I do give you, he's liv material no doubt about that, that's his level

    • @PIP-zf9yb
      @PIP-zf9yb Месяц назад

      @inb4230 he played very well this year with the limited opportunity's he has. Him getting his card isn't a big deal as he will play roughly the same amount of events next year. He just shows up and plays and doesn't want to grind like others do nor does he need to as he does so well outside of the pga tour. People are truly ignorant on his situation he isn't the average joe

    • @inb4230
      @inb4230 Месяц назад

      @@PIP-zf9ybthat is exactly my point, wesley got his card and after that he didn't want to grind on his fitness/game and people keep saying he should be "more valued ",wtf does that even mean,they should just give him a permanent card over the guys that grind 7 days a week on their game?Doesn't work like that, FORTUNATELY it doesn't. By playing exemptions only his game should've been AT LEAST as sharp as some of the guys living off a suitcase playing weekly he had nothing but time to raise his level, he simply didn't and he paid the price and there's all there is to it,implying the tour should give wesley bryan preferential treatment because his brother maintained a RUclips channel (because wesley was well over it for several years he was in a couple videos a year at best)is ridiculous, we have enough of athletes taking someone's spot/racing seat because of who their relatives are.If I heard wesley bragging about how much he worked on his body and game I would be gutted for him, I only saw him bragging about how he hasn't set foot on the gym in years, barely practices and never warms up, so I'm not, you take out what you put in unfortunately..

    Wesley Bryan didn't "lose his card." He didn't have a card this season to lose. He was playing on past champion conditional status which he will continue to have next season. Had he finished in the top 125, he would have earned a card, but that would have only got him into a couple of additional events next year. Considering he will need to finish in the top 100 next year, it is unlikely that he will finish that high with the few events that he would get in with full status or conditional status.

    • @BrianBowman-mw9vt
      @BrianBowman-mw9vt Месяц назад +1

      He’ll actually have a better status at the start of next season by finishing 126-150 this season, it’s a notch above the “Past champions and veteran members” category. However, he needs to play well at the start of the season because after 4 events all of the players in the 126-150, Past champs and veteran members and special temporary members get shuffled into a single category and ranked based on their current FedEx Cup points. And after every 4 events that list gets reshuffled. The higher on the list you are, the more events you get into. If he plays well to start the season he should be able to get close to 20 starts, assuming he gets some sponsors exemptions also.

    As a South African, SA has to be one of the best golf destinations in the world and it's so overlooked. Especially if you're coming to my home town, George, the courses around here are incredible. Hope you've got some of them on your radar! 🇿🇦

    The argument about footballers not getting paid is sadly incorrect, almost all top teams pay the players, some give the money to charities, but they still get paid.

    Ludicrous idea for Pete - How many drives (1 a day) does it take Pete to hit a golf ball around the world (other smaller distances are available, country, county..... town....)

    The part about football players not getting paid to play for their countries, are outright wrong. Each player is getting several hundreds of thousinds to get selection for the Euros or World cup squads.

      You say that but England team all give the money they get to charity, if they don’t it’s a very bad look on them from the rest of the team.

    Unpopular opinion? Break 50/60 scramble/best ball/course record is the McDonalds of golf content. The consequence for poor shots and the player's ability to negotiate trouble are severely diminished, leaving a bastardized shell of a game.

    If Wesley has a desire to be on the professional golf stage he should go after his dream. My perspective of Wesley and George they should create more Creator Classic type tournaments for RUclips but have a live element with live mics and rise through the popularity of you tube something the PGA or Liv is not going all in on. You tube is more relevant to everyday people and the pro tours are just becoming more of an elitist club. Have creators that are going all in on RUclips and rising tides raises all ships.

    Wes hasn’t really had a tour card since 2017. He’s played conditional status all these years. No different now.

      Think it’s 2019. With a win you get a full card for two years. His win was 2017. Securing playing privileges for 2018 and guessing all of 2017.
      Joel dahmen was quite a story on the weekend but few guys like him get sponsors exemptions into the signature no cut events. If he and a few other guys didn’t get guaranteed paydays perhaps they wouldn’t have got their card above Wes. Although I don’t think Wes lost an ounce of sleep not getting his full card.

    Brutal take on being paid. So you’d rather the association and the TV scumbag executives pocket the money? Athletes earn it
