I thought I’d answer your question about why people especially women dress differently in Pakistan. You are right that sometimes it is the occasion which dictates the clothing (such as prayer time) but mostly the difference comes from the sub-culture the person is from. In Pakistan unlike in most western countries (but perhaps similar to other Muslim and eastern countries) people vary widely in their sub-culture to the point that we have different local languages and were it not for Urdu and English (our national languages) we wouldn’t be able to understand each other. But the issue of attire goes deeper because even people from the same city or living in the same area could dress quite differently. One thing which determines this is the religiosity of the family a more traditional and religious family will dress with more traditional clothes and religious attire. Even in the religious attire there are various levels for example some women will only wear a headscarf (which can show some hair) others would wear a hijab (which wouldn’t show any hair but will show their full face) but others would wear a nikaab (which would only show their eyes) and even some would wear a full burka (which would cover them from head to toe and they can only see through holes in the cloth). More westernised people would dress very western with women wearing no head scarf just a neck scarf or sometimes wearing pants and shirts etc. So all in all the person’s attire depends on a number of factors i.e. degree of religiosity, traditionality, locality (city, village, affluent newer areas, old inner city areas etc.) education, westernisation and socio-economic standing.
@@GON-lu4me its actually a mixture of both in varying ratios...like recently i switched to public conveyance so i started dressing up a little more modestly then I usually would...for me it meant wearing almost knee length shirts and for some others it may mean wearing a headscarf or burqa(so it does actually differ from person to person and also with the environment of a particular locality)

Thank You for reacting to Sajni - Jal the band. This song was my gateway to magical world of Pakistani Music during my schooldays. Edit : And yes Atif Aslam started off with Jal and he was the lead vocalist and gave initial commercial hits like "Aadat" and "Woh Lamhey" in 2003, (You must definitely check those out !!) and after his split from the band at the end of the year he featured songs he wrote in his solo album, and they got so famous in the South Asian peninsula that he was called to India to feature those songs in Bollywood movies "Aadat" in Kalyug 2005 and "Woh Lamhey" in Zeher 2005 and that's how a legend was born and the rest is history.
Oh man there’s so much more for you guys to explore!!! I think you guys would love yaar vekho, kangna, sawaal kande utte. They’re spectacular and completely underrated
You should definitely check out the magical journey of the songs on Coke studio. They are the behind the scene where we see the whole process of melodies and the shoot of the song. It's brilliant. And you will definitely enjoy it.. Definitely check it out for Thagyan.
as a pakistan, Man you guys are geniuses at breaking down different cultures and music, im blown away with both of your insights and intelligence, Bravo me amigos!
The drummer Efra mentioned is Ahad Niyani. He is a master of his craft and to see him shine, you have to listen to Laal Meri Pat by Quratulain from Coke Studio. Trust me, Efra, you'll particularly love it.
In Jal, Atif was one of the founding members with the guitarist Goher but then Atif left due to conflict with Goher and Farhan became vocalist of the band. Farhan has one of my favorite voices, it will be great if you included him in the next ones. So glad u liked Sajni though. it's a banger for sure By the way, the drummer you saw in the earlier season's coke studio video is the guy who played drums on the jal song recording.

I have listened to these songs countless times. Yet, the perspective I got today after your discussion is just next level. Thanks for sharing this reaction video. By the way, the actress with beautiful eyes in the second song (Khuda aur Mobabbat) is Iqra Aziz. Last, but not least, listening to your song was really nice. Way to go, guys. Thank you!
We girls in Pakistan have liberty to wear what we want. At least, most of the girls (97% being Muslim majority). What I mean is that there is no restriction by govt or state to impose hijab or covering up. But some people do cover up while some don't. It's either a personal choice or depends on the area/family traditions.
I have to disagree with u. Pakistani women surely have the freedom to choose to cover their heads or not, but sadly they still dont have the freedom to wear short western clothes (sleeveless clothes, shorts etc). Its still a very conservative society for women. But i hope slowly they will accept the global cross culture like many good muslim nations did.
@@him6683 What I meant is that there is no restriction by the Pakiatani state like KSA or Iran where they HAVE to cover up themselves completely. I meant covering up not dressing up.
I guess I worded the first sentence wrongly. But still showing skin and wearing a bit "revealing" clothes is becoming more and more common specially in elite class, fashion and entertainment industries. We are very different from what we were a decade ago.
Awesome reaction :) about OST of khuda or Muhabbat ... your guess was 100% correct . The guy loved the girl and the girl was stuck in rich funeral family , that took the hope from the guy and ge went A mazaar/Muslim temple where people mostly spend time in prayers to achieve, unachieved .. it was hit serial and mega hit OSt by Boss Rahat Fateh Ali. To answer Waleska query, Coke Studio was not started in Pakistan it was Coca cola Brazil in 2007. in 2008 Pakistan took that concept and made it popular in south Asian region. 👍 So coke studio Brazil is the first edition of any coke studio..The CSP took very popular and loved compositions and folk and with great production they created some greatest hits of that time...last 15 years they have been doing this great mix of folk, classic , western and great production.. But few of the orginal scores like Uddi jaa, and pasoori are amazing creations.
I'm so glad that you guys reacted to an older Coke Studio song and loved it; I think people got so excited by the new season (which I love too!) that people kind of forget about how beautiful and sincere and, as you said, organic, the earlier seasons are. I hope this inspires you to keep digging into the CS archives! There are so many gems in there. And like you said, the imperfections make it beautiful.
The Pakistani film industry is not very big but our drama is very popular and the success of our drama is due to its good story, excellent acting and awesome music. Our musicians and singers have the potential to beat any of the biggest industries in the world. You have just seen a drop of this ocean of Pakistani music, sir…..❤️شکر الحمد للّٰہ ❤️
I’m so taken aback with this podcast. I watched it in its entirety. So glad that you included the songs that you did but I do feel like making you a list of Pakistani songs showing evolution of music through the eyes of an average person like mine. Strings are the best thing to happen to Pakistani music after Nazia/Zoheb Hassan and Vital Signs. Xulfi, Abdullah Siddiqui and talents such as Karakoram, Young Stunners are the present and future. Osts are a totally different subject - they have some awesome ones in them too but there’s no consistency in them.
both members of Strings parted ways on this day (25 march) last year, end of an era,,, I still miss them,,, too much nostalgia is associated with their songs, wish they could give us a good bye concert. And maybe you are right that drum in the strings song sounds like sampled drum or more like a produced from launch pad or something, which was pretty famous in that era specially in Indo-Pak . I really enjoy your reviews , because you both know music, and alot to learn from your conversations, thank you

You have missed out "Go" song of Coke Studio Season 14 by Atif Aslam and Abdullah Siddiqui. Probably best of the season.
The 3rd song: Thagyan is in actuality the Qawali genre and that's the richest genre from PK and the real Legend of Qawali is: Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan who actually taught his Nephew, I believe, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. So The Pure Gold of Sufi Classical Music is Qawalli, especially any from Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan!
Your interpretation of Khuda aur Muhabt is so on point girl😯❤
laser harp for the win! amazing
Abdullah Siddiqui's Go with Atif Aslam in Coke Studio season 14 is even better...a must react...Abdullah was also assistant producer for a few of CS14 songs
Pakistani dramas are major hit and the Drama ost you listen basically break all records of Pakistani dramas.... You guys can easily watch Pakistani dramas on RUclips..... Please react to more Pakistani dramaa Ost there are soo soo many more
I HAVE ONE QUESTION , IF YOUR RELIGION SAYS ACTING , SINGING , DANCING EVERYTHING IS HARAM THEN WHY DO YOU MUSLIMS IN PAKISTAN HAVE TV SHOWS ?
@@sahilkale9348 hijab is their religious Islamic right and dramas and nataks too🙃😂
@@sahilkale9348 it all ends on personal choice. All religions have rules and regulations but depends on how much an individual follows it. Everyone follows islam to various degrees
@@mridulsharma7473 yes it is. If a Muslim wants to act in dramas it’s her choice. If a Muslim wants to wear a hijab or burka it’s her choice. If you were trying to do something with your comment you clearly failed
@@Waleed.869 if it's her choice then why do u make hijab religious it's a personal choice just like institutions choice to ban hijab why protest then😂hypocrisy lvl
Kangna is out of this world
Yessss thank u so much guys love from pakistan

You guys are so knowledgeable about music! Love it!
From India but love ATIF ASLAM and RAHAT FATEH ALI KHAN. Beautiful singers🤌🏻. Need them back here🥹
Pakistan ke sabi singers ik sy bhar k ik ha

Finally someone reacted to string and jal ♥️♥️
there are many wonderful songs as osts of Pakistani dramas bcz in Pakistan drama industry is bigger than movies
You can watch "alif", as well as "Alif Allah aur Insan" they are good,

omg best of luck!! Hope the podcast can help you chill out for a bit!
Bruh I also have a huge ass test coming tomorrow morning. Well let that test go to gutter I am finishing this 😂😂😂
Incredible show 👌👍
In Jal, Atif was one of the founding members with the guitarist Goher but then Atif left due to conflict with Goher and Farhan became vocalist of the band.
Farhan has one of my favorite voices, it will be great if you included him in the next ones. So glad u liked Sajni though. it's a banger for sure
By the way, the drummer you saw in the earlier season's coke studio video is the guy who played drums on the jal song recording.
Tera woh pyar is the best love song ever in coke Studio love ❤from pakistan 🇵🇰
Asim Azhar is a great singer. These are one of his songs that I love. "Jo tu na Mila"
"Humraah" a Bollywood song by him
And OST of "Ishqiya" drama serial
Thagya: You are right, Walleska, he says bura haal, meaning in a bad state, hence the progression
As non Pakistani i am always in awe of how far their practices are from true islam , so i wont take what they do as true islam.
In this time in the whole world no one is practicing real islam except some people in every Muslim country not just Pakistani for ur kind information😊
@@qasimiqbal2717 i find it diffrent when make small sins or don't commit to all the must do's, and between inventing a new religion like in India n Pakistan. I'm amazed how they call themselves Muslims yet literally worship graves.
the best OST to watch is OST of KHAANI drama
Pakistan drama OSTs are amazing. You guys should react to some more. you will be really amazed.
Pakistani music is unique and amazinG.
YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY WATCH 'MERE PAAS TUM HO'....rahat fateh ali khan has sung its ost as well and it has a remake in india too...it has a quite grasping story
sajni is one my all time favorite songs.....
When will you hear ( rang) by coke studio then you will come to know what is music
Pakistani dramas are top class and their OSTs too..you should also check out other OST's
"khuda aur mohabbat" drama series is the most watched and loved by the Asian countries ❤❤
You mean south asian right? cause if you count the whole asia then squid game is right there as the most loved and watched asian drama of all time
Kam3 isn’t even liked much in Pakistan if you check out the reviewers. It got most of its views from India

You have missed Arooj Aftab here..she has also been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Global Music Performance at the 2022 GRAMMY Awards. Her album vulture prince just magical. Please react to the song 'Mohabbat', the song that Ex US President Barack Obama had listed as one of his summer playlist favourites for 2021.
Sajni pass bulao na favourite song from childhood farhan saeed ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You interpretation of how the melody sounds upsetting is so good! It hits spot on in Urdu “bura haal/upset”
Wuthering Heights was such a great love story. My favourite!
Finally you've done a podcast on Pakistani music after such a long time. You need to react to "Junoon" band and Ali Azmat's solo album. 90's and early 2000's Pakistani bands were extremely famous throughout subcontinent. Please react to "Na Re Na" and "Garaj Baras" originals by Ali Azmat.
You guys should listen to more pakistani ost
You guys are so bright, especially the girl. You truly are into your passion of music. Love from Pakistan.
Coke studio Pakistan was real quality and quite genuine. That's why it got famous compared to others.
Thank you!
Strings the beautiful Era with this band Love from kashmir ❤
We girls in Pakistan have liberty to wear what we want. At least, most of the girls (97% being Muslim majority). What I mean is that there is no restriction by govt or state to impose hijab or covering up. But some people do cover up while some don't. It's either a personal choice or depends on the area/family traditions.
ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT ? YOU ARE FREE TO WEAR ANYTHING ?
Parizad and Mere pass tum hu
Available on youtube with subtitle
These are the best drama from Pakistan
Awesome reaction :) about OST of khuda or Muhabbat ... your guess was 100% correct . The guy loved the girl and the girl was stuck in rich funeral family , that took the hope from the guy and ge went A mazaar/Muslim temple where people mostly spend time in prayers to achieve, unachieved .. it was hit serial and mega hit OSt by Boss Rahat Fateh Ali. Love your reactions . And sending love from Pakistan ..
love your analogies while analyzing music
Yayy 💓
But you missed aima again🥲🥲
Muaziz Saarif from Coke Studio ♥️
Yayyy finally 🇵🇰❤️ Abdullah Siddiqui and xulfi producers of coke studio season 14 ❤️ please react to all songs of this season 🇵🇰 also check out nescafe songs..( mehbooba ) ( jaagna tw parega ) (bol hu ) and also abdullah Siddiqui's song ...be myself ❤️
To answer Waleska query, Coke Studio was not started in Pakistan
it was Coca cola Brazil in 2007. in 2008 Pakistan took that concept and made it popular in south Asian region.
"Mere pass tum ho" is the best drama to be watched.
You are amazing it's perfect way to react on music
expecting much more OST(original soundtrack) from different dramas of Pakistan next Friday:)
Dammit i love waleskas expressions hahhahaha on pointttt!!!!
The 1st song by Strings.... One of their tracks was official soundtrack of the spiderman album.
Loved it , I'll wait for pt 3 😁
If one song you could do from initial seasons of Coke Studio would be Garaj Baras by Rahat Fateh. Or Ali Azmat’s Na re Na from 2000s. Thanks
I really enjoy your reviews , because you both know music, and alot to learn from your conversations, thank you
Strings band my childhood friend
Time files memories remain
