A big thank you for sharing your results. Most comparisons and tests are for 90 mph + swing speeds and the majority of us swing at slower speeds. I am going for an autoflex fitting asap.
Thank you for the content. I had a very similar experience. I have a slow swing. I use a Ping G430 Max Driver with a stock shaft. My average swing speed was about 76 mph. I managed to test three shaft from Autoflex: the 505, 405 and 305X. My swing speed with the 505 was around 74 mph. Average carry of about 160 yards. For 405, the swing speed was about 78ish mph. Average carry of about 175 yards. For 305X, the average swing speed was about 82mph and average carry of 190 yards. Guess which one I picked?
Hello, I am Tour Van manager for Senior Tour in Europe... Globally the Autoflex provides 10% distance more than any shaft... But for me and some senior tour players, I have tipped the shaft of 1' inch... I am 55 years old, with my shaft I drive between 235 meters and 270 maximum in rare occasions... with the Autoflex and a Ryoma head 8.5° Type V, less dispersion (more balls on the fairway), and more consistancy in distance; between 250 meters and max 305 meters... easy to launch, easy to load and unload the shaft... I was skeptical but the results are here... For players as Adam Scott or young players the 505 xx version is too soft even tipped of 1' inch... I claim from manufacture a version 605 xx and xxx... This technology is quite impressive on the course... because the simulator does take in effect the top spin effect with the Autoflex... more roll more distance also.... The 305 x is to souple for women or old seniors... must be tipped to have the 10 % effect and not a little.... This point must be corrected easely by autoflex The 405, 505, 505 x are better don't need to tip it... The range of this product is well. Autoflex must produce a 605 xx and xxx version to complete their range. Autoflex can be play at 45.5 or 46 driver length, because it is easier to play it... myself I change driver length from 44.5 to 45.5 ' without fair or problem of dispersion.... Congratulations to the Korean engineer team to propose this new game changer.
Love your videos. Autoflex is definitely a miracle and I couldnt wait to get my hands on them... Have you done a comparison between G425 and the PXG 0811X?
The price is the problem I have found a stock shaft depending on the model you can get 3 to 4 mph difference and it won't cost you the price of a new driver for a shaft.
Hi Peter, was wondering if you know the weight of the head you’re using. I just picked up the 305x AF and put the new AI Smoke head on it. The head weighs in at 194 grams. Having mixed results so I’m taking the rear weight off and going to try that. The rear weight is around 6.5 grams so the new head weight is about 187 grams now. Was just curious is you tinkered with head weight. Thanks!
any updates on the shaft I am 92 mph with aggressive tempo. What do you think. pxg gen5 I tried the grand bassara but I was hooking everything. I play grand bassara in my irons
My driver speed is between 85 to 88 MPH, which makes me a candidate for the 305X, but $790.00 is a little out of my price range. Maybe if I get slower and a little more desperate...LOL.
Love al the information. I had terrible luck! I went out and bought one it came last week. I took it to the pga superstore to get a taylormade tip on it.... guess what happened? They called me the next day and said they snapped it!!! I am so upset I didn’t even get to swing it one time.
@@aaronbrown1813 They hosed you. Adapters are glued on with slow set epoxy. Learn how to do it yourself, it couldn't be any easier. There are videos that show how.
Peter what a brilliant review thank you. I also bought the 405 so with my swing speed 80 ish you’ve got me thinking 10 yards extra on top of the 25 I already found gee all of a sudden it becomes a different game, that’s like three clubs less into the green. Have you tried the 5 to pitch shafts perhaps. Also swing weight could be dialed in too would be a great video if you could manage that Thanks again really enjoy the video 😀😀😀👍👍👍
Hi Ro Bo! Hope you see the same results! I love mine! I haven't tried the iron shafts, but I ordered a fairway wood shaft. I was thinking, if I can get my 3 ot 5 wood to go farther, I can make those par 5's even shorter. Hoping to see similar results, but will have video updates coming asap! Thanks!
It'll be different for everyone, but I've noticed with these really flexible shafts, I think it allows the head to center more. With the backweight in the drivers, it kind of bends the shaft forward at the tip and so I seem to get more loft than with a stiffer shaft. Generally, I would play about a 12 degree head, looking for 15-16 degree launch angles. With the autoflex, I'm getting those launch angles with the lower lofted club.
@@petervonpanda PVP,,,,,GREAT COMEBACK---you obviously have thought it through----great job! Those flexible shafts must really have a TIP that does throw the ball straight up if you can get a 7.5 to be optimum
Good review, I’m getting a fitting on Thursday with the auto flex. I’ve read that they do not want the club head weight to be more than D-1 do you know what your PXG weight is? A professional fitter who did extensive testing said Calloway, Titleist and Taylor made all have c10-to D1 and that the Ping head is too heavy. He also said get a club that can be adjusted to 9 degrees or less, because the Autoflex shaft tends to make the ball go higher. Like you I’ve got about a 72 or three swing speed and I’m hopeful to get it up but I wondered if you were considering some of the other variables that were mentioned
I have a SIM driver (10.5 that I play with a regular flex shaft) but the Autoflex is setup only for my PXGs. My guess is that it would have to be lofted down based on my experience if I were to add an autoflex, Keith!
Love the content panda. Was wondering since u like to cut ur driver length down would it have made more sense to buy the 3 wood Autoflex and save money since it is cheaper with similar specs or do u think they play very differently between driver and fairway Autoflex? Thanks
That's a brilliant question, Clay! Which is why I ordered a fairway wood shaft. It should be arriving soon, and I'll be modifying it and testing it soon!
Thank you again for this video, with it i have bought the SF305x. For you swing speed, you loft of 7-8 deg seems very low. How high did you launch the ball and your spin rate? What is your loft before Autoflex? My driver loft is currently set at 10.5deg. So how much stronger do i have to go with Autoflex? Thinking of getting a new head.
Hi Ling! Congrats! I think you'll love it. I would say try it first. I used a 9 degree head originally with it lofted to 10 degrees. Once I started using this, I noticed the higher launches, but one big part of it is how your head is weight. More weight in the back, the higher the launch. I also played with the weights. Autoflex really likes a D0 head weight from my experience to get the best speed improvement. So, I probably wouldn't buy a new head until you start using it and seeing what it does for you. I'm currently playing my driver at 6.5 degrees and it's launching at 18 degrees. Hope that helps!
@@petervonpanda Thanks Peter, did you wind up cutting it down yourself and if so what did you use to cut it down? I am thinking about getting an autoflex, I have gone from a 50.5" shaft in a ping driver to a 49.75" shaft in a callaway Epic speed and wondering is it as simple as getting the shaft with the proper adapter cutting down the but section and installing a grip on it?
It’s simple. AutoFlex mostly recommends cutting down only the butt end which makes it easier. They have different guides on the fairway wood shafts. I use an angle grinder with a cutting disc and then it’s just a standard grip install.
I was so interested to try this shaft. And then I saw it..... 790? hmmmm is this the price or the model number? oh no the price.... 790 us dollar for the shaft? seriously?
Yeah, that is a HUGE downside! To be honest, I wouldn’t have bought this shaft if I wasn’t planning on sharing it on the channel because it seemed there were a lot of other people like me interested in it. I actually waited a while hoping there would be more videos on. TXG is really the only ones putting out multiple videos with it, so I spent the money. I will say, it’s not a gimmick. It works. But man, the cost is brutal. You can buy a nice set of clubs for less. If they could get the price to $200-$300, then it would be perfect. Obviously cheaper is better, but I think it would become much more accessible to average golfers like me

In this video, the swingweight was C8. I agree, the shaft seems to like lighter heads.
Did you try this with a sim driver head? What would the results be if you were in a 10.5 degree driver head, would you have to loft down?
