So grateful that people continue to race these cars at events like this so those of us who used to watch Group C can enjoy being taken back to when they were racing in the early 90’s. And especially so the younger generations can see how amazing these cars are.
All of these historic cars sound spectacular, they are a delight to listen to and see 🤤😍, truly incredible beasts of great speed and power 💪👏👏👏, I adore them ❤❤❤❤. No current car combines so many attributes. Group C will always live in our hearts 😢
I’m a lucky man used to go to all the Group C races in Britain, Spa & Le Mans from 1987 to 1991. Wait till you hear the Aston Martin! But used to love trying to sleep in the middle of Le Mans trying to guess which cars were on the Mulsanne straight before the chicanes the Mazda always sounded different and the Jag V 12s. But the Mercs were the meanest
Those Jags are lovely cars but neither was built for Le Mans, nor did either actually race there in period. I know they gave the 14 a run in damp qualifying but they never intended it to participate aside from the first hour.
So iconic that after seeing them at LeMans 1987 went home sold my Triumph Stag and bought a Jaguar XJS V12 in BRG never let me down took it back to LeMans 1988 to 1991 happy days!!! Went to Spa in 1989 those damn Mercs won that day with a young Michael Schumacher
These closed off the event on Sunday. It was a great day and this was truly the cherry on top. The noise of these things echoing over the circuit was pretty magical. I fell in love with classic race cars through sim racing and being able to experience them like this was a treat. Group 5, Group C, GT1, the Porshe 917k demo's... It was honestly a bit much for one day so next year I might go for the whole weekend.
Group B was rallying's mentalist era from 1981-86! It was banned cuz of too many accidents with driver and even spectator deaths! If you've ever seen rallying footage of the cars going along and crowds piling onto the road, only parting like the Red Sea as the cars approached, THAT was Group B! And then you have the cars! Sorry, "monsters"!
Group C were certainly the best racing cars in history, it's a shame they don't exist today!! I thought it would be like a comeback when they announced the hypercars, but they're nothing more than slow, heavy cars full of boring rules nowadays!
If Hypercar were like Group C, no manufacturers would join. Remember, BOP is the reason why manufacturers like Ferrari joined. With no BOP, it would be a Toyota vs. Privateers party.
@@johncarl5505fr tho, the quality days of group c are hard to recreate. things are different the way they are now, and even then group c days were a series of domination during early period with the porsche, then some intense moment with jaguar toppling it, then came the sauber-mercedes. and finally comes the 3.5L regulations and we know what happened
@@JohnMcLon-tt8il BOP is Balance of Performance. It's the fact that instances can act on several factors (weight, power,...) to make the several cars the "same" level of performance. Two major drawbacks : the best car that deserve winning is made slower, and the instances can also decide who will win by provinding a favorable BOP (see 24h Le Mans 2023 and previous editions in gt class)
The sauber just always has its own gnarly sound whenver it passes by, as to why it's my most favorite group c car
Still the best race cars ever.
Long live Group C and GTP
That c11 is perfect
My fav Car C-11 and fav group C class

Goddamn that Merc sounds naughty
Nothing can describe how loud this was in person, the C11 alone is way louder in person

Few things are as Iconic as a Jaguar in Silk Cut colours, wonderful to see the XJR-11 and XJR-14 still out there doing what they were made for!

I fucking love this channel
Is it possible to purchase the c11 or any group c car and practice it for personal private track driving? Like not going against other racers?
Sure, why not. If you are rich enough 😀
I was there
What car is number 66 2:08
Brun C91
The Mercedes sounds so brutal. And that Talbot Peugeot has a great pitch. You can just hear how burly that Mercedes engine is though.
Do you know where the Peugots front wing went on Saturday?
Collison with the jaguar i think
Cual es el grupo A y B?
Group B were rally cars in the 80s and Group A were production based race & rallycars.

It's not bad, at least for now
