Thanks for taking the time to post this. Like someone else said, I have also tried the 2 liter bottle cut in half method and it works. I agree with you 100% that it does nothing for killing the hive itself. Personally, I wouldn't mind the yellow jackets if they'd just learn to stay away from my weak honeybee colony. :-)
Hey Beeutiful, I make the soda traps as well, and the reason for making this version was to solve what i think is the #1 problem with the soda bottle traps, which is every time it rains they fill up. This version solves that problem and gives you a lid which is easily removed for removal of dead yellow jackets and easy replacement of baits. Plus its reusable and once built and complete never needs more purchased goods (like tape).
I wanted them to carry some of the poisoned bait back to the nest. I kept the traps out but I also filled two small containers (condiment size from take out). I used 1 cup of honey, some apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon or two of boric acid. The first batch killed them outright so I cleaned it out and used less boric acid. Worked like a charm. Within three days there were only a couple around. I did it for one more day and I will see maybe one ore two by the feeders but compared to what we had that is nothing. Now I can sit on my deck and my humming birds can eat in peace! Total days with poison was five. A side benefit is it took out a few ant nests!! No more ants on the deck or the patio. Take it in at night. When putting out keep it away from flowers and put it on the ground. I observed one of them for a day before putting the others out and the bees didn't seem interested. I do have a large flower garden and several areas of flowers which is where you will usually see bees. It is possible a bee tried it but these yellow jackets would literally attack the bird in groups. There would be five or ten going after them and giving chase. I don't care how beneficial they are they are vicious insects and I have had enough!!
Great Fantastic information I’m also Beekeeper,true wasps/yellowjackets are beneficial pollinators,but here in N California in August September they are vicious attacks on my weaker hives .They have to be dealt with!! I leave Chicken scraps or old cat food around before setting traps,I then leave soda cans with Apple juice with 5% Borax mix this is what gets rid of their hive ,Honey Bees are not attracted to Apple juice hope this helps
You could place more than one entrance into the trap. I agree with others that say to put a little of the bait liquid on the top of the trap for them to find a tell the nest about it. A little dish soap in the water, stirred not shaken, will break the surface tension of the water and make the yellow jackets sink and die quicker. I have wasps in my attic and I'm very allergic to them, so I have to get them under control.
Great video. You make some excellent points about the beneficial aspects of yellowjackets etc. I add a few drops of dish soap to break the surface tension of the liquid lure. I also add some nectar/bait to the top of the trap so that the yellowjackets bring some back to their nest and attract more to the trap. Thanks!

@@sambojambo9448 The Scouts will always fly back. It's the workers who get attracted to and trapped. A small amount of honey on the top of the trap creates a source for some of the workers to collect honey and thereby send more foragers back to the trap.
I've mashed up 1/2 of a banana with about 3 Tablespoons of sugar, 3 drops of banana extract, 3 drops of apple cider vinegar, 5 drops of apple juice and one drop of PetArmor Plus for dogs. This is placed on a ceramic saucer, on a stand meant for plants, to keep our squirrels or hummingbirds from sampling it. The bait is being taken by quite a few Bald Faced Hornets. They're fighting over it.
Would it not work better to make the entrance from a plastic funnel instead of a PVC tube? It would be easier for them to find a way in and harder to find a way out, Just logic.
The best use for wasp traps is to get the queen when she emerges early in the spring around the end of March into April, you have a few weeks of wiggle room as the queen does all of the work setting up a new nest it takes time for her to get the first generation of workers so she can focus on laying eggs. So if you get the queen early as I did this year, you probably won't see any yellowjackets and if you do they will be workers from someone eases yard and they don't stick around for long. You are correct that a single trap will not get rid of a nest. I doubt multiple traps will completely do the job, however multiple traps may effectively reduce the amount of worker contact you have around the property.
I made this type trap with square holes on three sides, put sticks in the holes so Hornets can get in, get a drink, get back out and carry the message to the home crew or feed the home crew, and I added a tsp of boric acid to the mix, sugar water, apple cider vinegar some cold water and the boric acid!! I can see the trap out my window and the Hornets are going crazy for it!
I live in the country. I didn't use to be allergic to wasp and yellow jackets until several got a hold of me all at 1 time. I have to keep epi pens on me always. They're expensive. I'm scared at times just to try and get to my vehicle so I can go to work. I don't like being a prisoner in my own home. Thank you
I tried and didn't have much success. The problem is that the apple and pear trees were close, so they had plenty of food, so they weren't interested in my traps. Then I set up a pad with mouse glue and hot dog pieces on it, as soon as one got caught the others would come to rescue it so a lot of them ended up getting stuck.

Yes Paul, Ive made the same soda bottle traps as well. That is one of the reasons I made this video. The soda bottle traps have one huge problem. Every time is rains they fill up with rain water. So I wanted to solve that problem, and this is why I made this particular version, to solve the rain issue. I would not mind yellow Jacket but the kind we have are vicious very predatorial I've tried all different kinds of meats ,fruit borax. your recipe and other recipes. everything I can think of different kinds of homemade traps I've tried the paper bag and I'm them all over around the house nothing seems to work they are vicious we are just about to the point where we cannot go outside. Or go inside. Goodnight do yard work the noise of making a raking the yard or chainsaw or any kind of noise attracts sale and they attack and they attack over and over again it's like they're breeding with killer bees are they have bread with killer bees I tell anyone that comes over wants to come over if they're allergic to bees don't come over because that's how bad they are there I believe they're throughout the whole entire house as well I cannot afford a beekeeper to come out and rip apart the house and charge me 350 bucks just to come out I just don't know what else to do we have mud wasps we have hornets as well but they're too scared to come around because of the yellow Jackets. I'm at a loss because I cannot afford to pay somebody to come out and take care of the Queens if you got any other suggestions I like to hear it I'll try it thank you

@@vicvega3614 I have gotten rid I noticed but they have just moved from one place to another and now there's basically millions of them they have taken over the travel trailer and the motor home the frames of all 8 vehicles and any time we go somewhere and stop they come out from vehicle and chase us for as long as they can catch up if not they make homes where we have stop to visit for a while our friends don't like us to much any more and some ask we not visit until we resolve this
@@SPLASHING-SILVER , ,1/2 cup gasoline in the entrance when it's dark out. Don't light the gas. Do Not use the gas anywhere into your house or buildings having electric wires. The fumes kill the little monsters quickly. Buy a bee protection suit. Declare War. Ignore the Geneva Convention.
These yellow jacket traps keep the workforce (flying) population in check. That's what it does. If I were to make a trap it would be more like the one in the video. I tried to control the yellow jacket populations around my hives by using a tote, hot dogs, and water with a little dish soap. Yeah, I got some Yellow Jackets, but the raccoons loved the hot dogs. They would tip it over and that was that. They aren't that big a deal around the hives. Except when they are trying to get in under the cover when they are after the fall sugar syrup feed. Watch your fingers.
HI - thanks kindly for your video. I have a natural area where it is impossible to find the nest holes due to leaves, pinestraw .... I have been stung on 4 different occasions this summer approximately 5-10 stings each time. Can you explain how does a homeowner (not with a bee yard) permanently deter these pests from the yard and keep them away? The only solution I can imagine is to get some sort of insect general killer in granular form and broadcast spread it in that area. Trapping and killing them is not a practical method as you wisely pointed out - what is the solution? Also could you inform us when is it safe to walk around and disturb the ground knowing they are in hibernation or in sleep/slowdown mode? I live in a rural area and these bees should buy a lot and stay on their own property!
I have noticed a gap in my siding and for the past week I’ve seen Yellowjackets going in and out rapidly. Means they are starting to make a nest. Tried my own red wine trap, got a few(-100) most ignore and go by. Even though it is on the flight path I’ve observed them flying. Can not find a ground nest in my yard, so I believe it is in a neighboring yard ( 1/2 acre lots) would using these traps better slow them down, until I spray inside the nest ( at night and cooler) what would be your suggestions for this situation ? I can easily get to the nest, a flat porch roof is right there about 4 feet below. Thanks so much and really appreciate it and enjoy your channel. Rob
I have heard that if you catch the queens in early spring you will reduce the future population dramatically. Queen yellow jackets are much larger than a normal one.
I haven't tried this trap but my thinking is once a few get caught they will release some kind of distress hormone that will attract more yellow jackets. Seen this with a fly strip...no action until a few we're caught then within an hour was peppered pretty good.
That's a good point jAX, I had not thought of that and it will be interesting to see if that is the case. Ill watch the trap daily and see if numbers caught per day increases as the total of dead yellow jackets already in the trap increases..
There is no reason for tthis video to be more than 3 minutes long. Ten minutes in and you've told us how to buy a plastic bucket and put a cord handle on it.
My only concern with the wasps is when they make a nest in my deck. Right now we have a small nest on the underside of our BBQ. We are hosting a birthday BBQ next weekend and I don't want my grandkids to get stung. So I am only trying to kill the ones in that nest so we can remove the nest before the BBQ. I have a nest in the ground under the rocks at the rear of the bottom of my koi pond waterfall box and am trying how to figure out killing them without anything getting into the water.Can't access the filter box now to remove and clean the filters when needed?
I use a vacuum cleaner with the hose(or pvc attached to the hose) near the nest opening. Two to three days and they are gone. Don't do not open the vacuum cleaner for a week or two. I just got about 17 stings when I went to put the trash out. WAR
I did happen to notice that you lined up the entrance hole dead center with the label on the canister. Is this so the yellow jackets can find the entrance easier and more accurately or is this just for esthetics purposes only, so it looks nice, pleasing to the eye I don't suppose the yellow jackets even notice it.
Another video said to put out food in small quantities around the trap so that a few may escape and return to the nest to share the location of the trap and thus entice more.
You stop the wasps from feeding the nest so it does make a difference I believe, and saw them on your trap but no pictures of dead ones inside. The successful traps I’ve seen on RUclips have the entrance on top not side.

So, if you have a nest within your home, how do you get them to move. I do garden and I actually plant things to attract bumble bees and dome other bees. However, I ended up with a yellow jacket nest in the crevis of my doorway and possibly in my siding. How do I get them to move?
Some of the wasps/yellow jackets probably survive the trap and make it back to the nest. Of course, if you put the trap within smelling distance of the nest it's a non-issue.
I have so many different wasp like yellow jacket and black and white like yellow jacket and European wasp that getting more popular around here in NY and lots of other types of wasp and hornets that if I kill every one around here there's so much nearby that it won't effect or change anything except stop them from attacking my beehives
Maybe a few drops of the liquid on top of the tubing would enable the first Yellow Jacket scouts to go back to the nest to alert them to the food source, and maybe all the ones who follow and get trapped inside won't be needed to pass on the message.
Wasps also eat Monarch and other beneficial larval stage butterflies too. Honey bees don't like cider vinegar that's why this is a good way to get rid of some wasps, if you need to get rid of huge nests you'll probably have to get some "industrial style wasp nest remover" to do that as the man said, some nests house thousands of the pests and a lot of queens. One man in this youtube suggests that spraying wasps with dilute detergent stops them from breathing, I'm not sure if our detergent "down under" is the same as yours, he used the "blue" detergent, we have clear, yellow, pink/red and green colours except blue, am wondering if something in the dye blue affects wasps.
Yes, 'Dawn' dish soap is recommended for everything, but I don't think it makes a difference what brand you have. Unless you have stock in the Dawn company, lol!
My nest is in a comforter plastic bag filled with wood scraps located 2’ from my back door. So yes,I plan to kill them all. I see them and hear them chewing on the plastic where they enter/ exit. I was hoping they were honeybees, but nope, they are yellow jackets. Glad my dogs and myself have not been attacked.
I have a few pear trees that produce a lot of fruit... I never get any, those big yellow hornets get all of them every year... just looking for a way to get at least some of the fruit...
Hello, I have yellow jackets coming in and out of a hole in the side of my family's home. The hole is located between two windows that is below the attic. When we went to the attic there is no nest that can be seen, so the nest is most likely inside the wall between the two windows. How can we lure them all outside and trap them, so we can spray inside the hole and kill any existing larvae, so we can seal the hole from outside?
Your best bet is hiring a exterminator to get them. If you want to take the task on your self and can get to the hole safely you would be best to do it in the dark. A red headlight is what we use when dealing with bees at night and I hate sprayed wasps and yellow jackets with this method.
The YJ’s and bald face hornets are terrible this year. I have read that peppermint oil keeps them away. Also, Vick vaporub, is supposed to work. White vinegar too. Is this true?
l have a question, l have bees that entered into my aluminum siding at the end cap that has fallen due to weather. im not certain if they are yellow jacket or carpenter bee. what solution should l use id they are carpenter bees? im going to make these catchers. Please help
As far as the last issue you raised, if a small amt of cat food or other smelly protein, on the outside of the trap, be enough to have some of the yellow jackets let members in the hive know where the food (trap) is located? I'm not an advocate if killing these insects...I have gardens which benefit from them...but they are swarming my deck making it unusable.
I would suggest to add a little meat to the bait. Place a small portion of the meat (wet cat food) and/or sugar water on the top close to the hole just to allow some wasps to alert the nests location.
Why not put out a non-trapping container first and then put out the trap? I have these in an old non working air conditioner and it’s a big problem, getting in my house too.
It would work for me cause yellow jackets like to make their nests in my porch on the ceiling and the tops of windows, always having to spray them with soapy water.
I have made a few yellow jacket traps and put out in my bee yard today, I never thought about putting them far away, I am tired of yellow jackets flying in my face when I go out to my bees, I do not wear a veil when a nectar flow is on or when I am open feeding because they do not sting as long as they are able to be busy.

Are honey bees attracted to this bait? I am having issues with yellow jackets making nest on my porch and the eaves of my home (and with huge hornets around my house). I would like to control the hornets and yellow jackets near the house but certainly don't want to harm my "wild bees."
If you want to kill a nest, you spray it with RAID wasp killing spray. If you just want to kill individuals that enter an area where you don't want them to be, use this trap.
"Got their interest up" but he never actually showed how many made it into the container in that 24 hours. I saw another vid of a trap that caught 700 in 3 hours (the guy actually counted them). I have a feeling that in 24 hours not many made it into his trap or he wouldn't have been so careful to keep the camera away from the contents of the bucket. He said there was "a ton"of yellow jackets but there were less than 10.

Im not certain but my guess would be no. They fly just like bees do a good distance from their nests to find food, and so im not sure they would relocate their nests closer to those food sources. Yellow jackets and wasps make a new nest each season, so it might work. Its something to try though. Maybe it would work?

This video was done by the previous owner so I really can't give a response to that. I have never had a issue with yellow jackets and I personally run 150 hives at the moment.
I appreciate the effort in this video. However, after so much preparation, time and effort it's a little ridiculous to cry crocodile tears over the destruction of a few of the most vicious predator insects that are globally detrimental and dangerous. Their harmful nature requires from us more and more sophisticated methods of protection since even more dangerous species keep appearing. No singing kumbaya with wasps
QUESTION: What if I use a half teaspoon of banana extract? Also what if I don't have quite enough apple cider vinegar? What if I Only have the Organic apple cider vinegar with the red and yellow label? And I don't have a cup of the vinegar, I only have about a little over a Quarter cup of the organic apple cider vinegar, the kind with the red and yellow lable on it Will this be a problem or should I go out and buy another bottle of the vinegar?
Simple water or juice cut with water, plus a tablespoon of quick active yeast and a bit of sugar. Forget about banana peel and banana extract, that’s not handy and is expensive. Gosh, this whole video was a waste of materials, money and time.

Goodnight do yard work the noise of making a raking the yard or chainsaw or any kind of noise attracts sale and they attack and they attack over and over again it's like they're breeding with killer bees are they have bread with killer bees I tell anyone that comes over wants to come over if they're allergic to bees don't come over because that's how bad they are there I believe they're throughout the whole entire house as well I cannot afford a beekeeper to come out and rip apart the house and charge me 350 bucks just to come out I just don't know what else to do we have mud wasps we have hornets as well but they're too scared to come around because of the yellow Jackets. I'm at a loss because I cannot afford to pay somebody to come out and take care of the Queens if you got any other suggestions I like to hear it I'll try it thank you
@@SPLASHING-SILVERi hope you have figured out something that works, my mom whos 74 has them in her bathroom wall and they get in the basement, she is allergic and its been hell, the nest is so far up in the wall its very hard to get them, we would literally have to rip the whole side of the house off, very frustrating. Ive been going to her house daily to catch what i can in traps ive made but nothing is getting them all. Ive tried everything
@@vicvega3614 I have gotten rid I noticed but they have just moved from one place to another and now there's basically millions of them they have taken over the travel trailer and the motor home the frames of all 8 vehicles and any time we go somewhere and stop they come out from vehicle and chase us for as long as they can catch up if not they make homes where we have stop to visit for a while our friends don't like us to much any more and some ask we not visit until we resolve this

These yellow jacket traps keep the workforce (flying) population in check. That's what it does. If I were to make a trap it would be more like the one in the video. I tried to control the yellow jacket populations around my hives by using a tote, hot dogs, and water with a little dish soap. Yeah, I got some Yellow Jackets, but the raccoons loved the hot dogs. They would tip it over and that was that.
They aren't that big a deal around the hives. Except when they are trying to get in under the cover when they are after the fall sugar syrup feed. Watch your fingers.
HI - thanks kindly for your video. I have a natural area where it is impossible to find the nest holes due to leaves, pinestraw .... I have been stung on 4 different occasions this summer approximately 5-10 stings each time. Can you explain how does a homeowner (not with a bee yard) permanently deter these pests from the yard and keep them away? The only solution I can imagine is to get some sort of insect general killer in granular form and broadcast spread it in that area. Trapping and killing them is not a practical method as you wisely pointed out - what is the solution? Also could you inform us when is it safe to walk around and disturb the ground knowing they are in hibernation or in sleep/slowdown mode? I live in a rural area and these bees should buy a lot and stay on their own property!
I have noticed a gap in my siding and for the past week I’ve seen Yellowjackets going in and out rapidly. Means they are starting to make a nest. Tried my own red wine trap, got a few(-100) most ignore and go by. Even though it is on the flight path I’ve observed them flying. Can not find a ground nest in my yard, so I believe it is in a neighboring yard ( 1/2 acre lots) would using these traps better slow them down, until I spray inside the nest ( at night and cooler) what would be your suggestions for this situation ? I can easily get to the nest, a flat porch roof is right there about 4 feet below. Thanks so much and really appreciate it and enjoy your channel. Rob
I have heard that if you catch the queens in early spring you will reduce the future population dramatically. Queen yellow jackets are much larger than a normal one.
yes that is true..earlier in the spring (like mid to late February) is best.
I haven't tried this trap but my thinking is once a few get caught they will release some kind of distress hormone that will attract more yellow jackets. Seen this with a fly strip...no action until a few we're caught then within an hour was peppered pretty good.
That's a good point jAX, I had not thought of that and it will be interesting to see if that is the case. Ill watch the trap daily and see if numbers caught per day increases as the total of dead yellow jackets already in the trap increases..
There is no reason for tthis video to be more than 3 minutes long. Ten minutes in and you've told us how to buy a plastic bucket and put a cord handle on it.

My only concern with the wasps is when they make a nest in my deck. Right now we have a small nest on the underside of our BBQ. We are hosting a birthday BBQ next weekend and I don't want my grandkids to get stung. So I am only trying to kill the ones in that nest so we can remove the nest before the BBQ. I have a nest in the ground under the rocks at the rear of the bottom of my koi pond waterfall box and am trying how to figure out killing them without anything getting into the water.Can't access the filter box now to remove and clean the filters when needed?
I use a vacuum cleaner with the hose(or pvc attached to the hose) near the nest opening. Two to three days and they are gone. Don't do not open the vacuum cleaner for a week or two. I just got about 17 stings when I went to put the trash out. WAR

I did happen to notice that you lined up the entrance hole dead center with the label on the canister. Is this so the yellow jackets can find the entrance easier and more accurately or is this just for esthetics purposes only, so it looks nice, pleasing to the eye

Another video said to put out food in small quantities around the trap so that a few may escape and return to the nest to share the location of the trap and thus entice more.

You stop the wasps from feeding the nest so it does make a difference I believe, and saw them on your trap but no pictures of dead ones inside. The successful traps I’ve seen on RUclips have the entrance on top not side.

So, if you have a nest within your home, how do you get them to move. I do garden and I actually plant things to attract bumble bees and dome other bees. However, I ended up with a yellow jacket nest in the crevis of my doorway and possibly in my siding. How do I get them to move?
I am making ten of them,I hate yellow jackets and I don't like them stinging me while mowing my lawn.
Some of the wasps/yellow jackets probably survive the trap and make it back to the nest. Of course, if you put the trap within smelling distance of the nest it's a non-issue.
I have so many different wasp like yellow jacket and black and white like yellow jacket and European wasp that getting more popular around here in NY and lots of other types of wasp and hornets that if I kill every one around here there's so much nearby that it won't effect or change anything except stop them from attacking my beehives

Maybe a few drops of the liquid on top of the tubing would enable the first Yellow Jacket scouts to go back to the nest to alert them to the food source, and maybe all the ones who follow and get trapped inside won't be needed to pass on the message.
Wasps also eat Monarch and other beneficial larval stage butterflies too. Honey bees don't like cider vinegar that's why this is a good way to get rid of some wasps, if you need to get rid of huge nests you'll probably have to get some "industrial style wasp nest remover" to do that as the man said, some nests house thousands of the pests and a lot of queens. One man in this youtube suggests that spraying wasps with dilute detergent stops them from breathing, I'm not sure if our detergent "down under" is the same as yours, he used the "blue" detergent, we have clear, yellow, pink/red and green colours except blue, am wondering if something in the dye blue affects wasps.
Yes, 'Dawn' dish soap is recommended for everything, but I don't think it makes a difference what brand you have. Unless you have stock in the Dawn company, lol!
My nest is in a comforter plastic bag filled with wood scraps located 2’ from my back door. So yes,I plan to kill them all. I see them and hear them chewing on the plastic where they enter/ exit. I was hoping they were honeybees, but nope, they are yellow jackets. Glad my dogs and myself have not been attacked.
I have a few pear trees that produce a lot of fruit... I never get any, those big yellow hornets get all of them every year... just looking for a way to get at least some of the fruit...

Hello, I have yellow jackets coming in and out of a hole in the side of my family's home. The hole is located between two windows that is below the attic. When we went to the attic there is no nest that can be seen, so the nest is most likely inside the wall between the two windows. How can we lure them all outside and trap them, so we can spray inside the hole and kill any existing larvae, so we can seal the hole from outside?
Your best bet is hiring a exterminator to get them. If you want to take the task on your self and can get to the hole safely you would be best to do it in the dark. A red headlight is what we use when dealing with bees at night and I hate sprayed wasps and yellow jackets with this method.
we use this type of trap just to keep the yellow jackets off of our food when we are outside eating.
The YJ’s and bald face hornets are terrible this year. I have read that peppermint oil keeps them away. Also, Vick vaporub, is supposed to work. White vinegar too. Is this true?
l have a question, l have bees that entered into my aluminum siding at the end cap that has fallen due to weather. im not certain if they are yellow jacket or carpenter bee. what solution should l use id they are carpenter bees? im going to make these catchers. Please help
As far as the last issue you raised, if a small amt of cat food or other smelly protein, on the outside of the trap, be enough to have some of the yellow jackets let members in the hive know where the food (trap) is located?
I'm not an advocate if killing these insects...I have gardens which benefit from them...but they are swarming my deck making it unusable.
I would suggest to add a little meat to the bait. Place a small portion of the meat (wet cat food) and/or sugar water on the top close to the hole just to allow some wasps to alert the nests location.

I have these in an old non working air conditioner and it’s a big problem, getting in my house too.
So add borax to the recipe by rolling a piece of bacon or chicken in the borax. But put a stick so they can carry the borax solution to the queens!
It would work for me cause yellow jackets like to make their nests in my porch on the ceiling and the tops of windows, always having to spray them with soapy water.

I have made a few yellow jacket traps and put out in my bee yard today, I never thought about putting them far away, I am tired of yellow jackets flying in my face when I go out to my bees, I do not wear a veil when a nectar flow is on or when I am open feeding because they do not sting as long as they are able to be busy.

Are honey bees attracted to this bait? I am having issues with yellow jackets making nest on my porch and the eaves of my home (and with huge hornets around my house). I would like to control the hornets and yellow jackets near the house but certainly don't want to harm my "wild bees."

If you want to kill a nest, you spray it with RAID wasp killing spray. If you just want to kill individuals that enter an area where you don't want them to be, use this trap.
"Got their interest up" but he never actually showed how many made it into the container in that 24 hours. I saw another vid of a trap that caught 700 in 3 hours (the guy actually counted them).
I have a feeling that in 24 hours not many made it into his trap or he wouldn't have been so careful to keep the camera away from the contents of the bucket. He said there was "a ton"of yellow jackets but there were less than 10.

If you place the lure away in a location away from the area will they relocate their nests to that area where they will not be a problem?
Im not certain but my guess would be no. They fly just like bees do a good distance from their nests to find food, and so im not sure they would relocate their nests closer to those food sources. Yellow jackets and wasps make a new nest each season, so it might work. Its something to try though. Maybe it would work?

This video was done by the previous owner so I really can't give a response to that. I have never had a issue with yellow jackets and I personally run 150 hives at the moment.
I appreciate the effort in this video. However, after so much preparation, time and effort it's a little ridiculous to cry crocodile tears over the destruction of a few of the most vicious predator insects that are globally detrimental and dangerous. Their harmful nature requires from us more and more sophisticated methods of protection since even more dangerous species keep appearing.

QUESTION: What if I use a half teaspoon of banana extract? Also what if I don't have quite enough apple cider vinegar? What if I Only have the Organic apple cider vinegar with the red and yellow label? And I don't have a cup of the vinegar, I only have about a little over a Quarter cup of the organic apple cider vinegar, the kind with the red and yellow lable on it

Simple water or juice cut with water, plus a tablespoon of quick active yeast and a bit of sugar. Forget about banana peel and banana extract, that’s not handy and is expensive. Gosh, this whole video was a waste of materials, money and time.
