  • BANK POOL - In 2013, Francisco Bustamante, 49, was up against Shannon Murphy, a younger regular at the Derby City Classic with some impressive finishes. Of course, Murphy had his hands full as Busty was the 2010 Japan Open champ and well as the 2010 World 9-Ball Champion. We had to give Murphy the credit he deserved since 353 players entered the Bank Pool division and he was only one of three survivors. Enjoy this contest.
Mark Wilson and Bill Gibbs were in the booth.

Question about bank pool. Do you always spot the lowest numbered balls? I ask because 6:30, he legally banks the two ball. But then he spots it at 6:55.

This was a wonderful match. The level of play was top notch. There was so many beautiful, difficult shot made. An absolute showcase of how entertaining bank can be.

There where some shots in there that I would never even know about if I hadn't paid attention to this. Great pool.

Mark described a shot of Bewsty's as being on a trajectory, which proves the table is not flat.

It's probably refering to the natural banking tracks on every billiards table. Has nothing to do with if the table is level or not. Some banks are natural angles, some needs to be manipulated with speed or spin.

What did you win? 1 year later we can't tell what comment is which. Banks and shots others can't make are the strongest part of my game.

@@mr.s1961 I started playing one pocket a couple of weeks ago, have made it a few times. Made one along the bottom rail that surprised me, as the cue ball was up against the long rail. I was afraid to go for it, as it's a little touchy putting any spin on it from there. Surprised my opponent. He never shoots twisty banks, but he beats me like a drum.
