Yup, I'm one of those that can't even imagine trying to do carry-on only. I'd be too stressed about taking everything I want. I take a lot of toiletries. I use a lot of shampoo and conditioner cause I have thick hair, so I need the large bottles. Also, I always match my eye make-up with what color clothing I wear, so I have a pretty good size make-up bag for all of it. And dont even get me started on shoes. I'm obsessed with so many different trypes of shoes. I'm not high maintenance, but I do need my options 😂😉
Plane tip: use a simple one pocket crossbody bag that you can hang over the tray table and it will hold everything. Just make sure the straps can be short or adjusted as short as possible.

We're carry on only also. The next cruise will be Eastern Caribbean HAL Eurodam in April. Suggestion: break down the giant tub of wipes (in the electronic case) into small units (ziplock bags) and put the binoculars in the case. We've been on two southern Caribbean cruises and binoculars are needed. Have a great cruise.

Finding one pair of shoes that will serve for both formal night, cocktail parties, and casual dinner dresses is my biggest issue. Mariner of the Seas in November- 5 nights. I always have to do one last edit before zipping it up. I'm a chronic over-packer. So, my advice, take out one outfit. You won't need as much as you think you do. I wish Royal had self-serve laundry like Princess & Carnival do.
We are going on the Nieuw Statendam for an 11 day cruise! Our biggest concern would be having enough room for our things and making it easy! We are going to try one large checked bag for each of us and then a backpack on the plane to simplify things. We will be cutting our outfits in half too and doing laundry if we need to!
I picked up using a packing cube for my toiletries from one of your videos and that has worked so well for me I do not unpack it. I leave in the bathroom on the counter.

We are going on Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady for a 7 day southern Caribbean in February out of San Juan. 5 ports and 1 sea day. I have never been on any line but Royal Caribbean and I have never done a cruise with so many port stops. Also Super Bowl, Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day that week! Looking forward to your videos on Tortola and Antigua since those are two of our stops. Long time follower and I think I have bought many things you have recommended over the years. My favorites are my mini Jen bag, packing cubes and the pack it flat toiletry bag. And the wander wet bags, travel on bag for charging gear and a jewelry roll. My challenge is to stop overpacking. There’s no formal night on my sailing but there is scarlet night and “we fancy” night.

I would be sure to pack your seat back bag into a two gallon zip lock bag. I have seen some nasty stuff in those pockets. At the end of the flight toss the ziplock before you put your bag into your luggage. Enjoy.

Go easy on the Lumify . . .i used them for years, then built up a reaction to them, and my eyes were red all the time. The more red they were, the more Lumify I’d use, which would help for a few minutes, then turn red again. Took two weeks of strong prescription drops to get rid of the issue. Now I never have red eyes unless I use Lumify.
We are going on Oasis if the Seas in a couple weeks! Nassau. Perfect Day at Cocoa Cay, Jamaica and Labadee! Can’t wait. No packing concerns - I watch your tips!

Going on the Emerald Princess 12 day repositioning cruise from NY on Nov. 4. My biggest packing challenge are all my hair products and gadgets I need to bring to look decent! My tip is to bring a mini drugstore, since things, if even available, are expensive on the ship!

I use Lumify too - works insanely fast! I tried to do carry on only for my 3 day cruise on the Disney Dream in 19 days but I failed! My daughter has costumes and princess dresses. We are doing the gift exchanges so I have gifts and room decor etc. Enjoy your Southern Caribbean cruise!

I'm going on the Carnival Sunshine in 10 days and my biggest packing concern is I injured my leg and will have a scooter, I'm trying to decide if I should check as much as possible on the ship rather than have a bulky carryon. (we are driving to the port)
Going on our very first cruise on Sky Princess in February in Caribbean. How do you pack the most efficiently if you are plus size? My clothes take up way more room in a suitcase than a size 2 woman!
I hope you have a great cruise on Sky! Packing cubes and compression packing cubes are super helpful. Most people struggle with taking too many shoes (they take up a lot of space). Overall though, it’s nice that you don’t HAVE to pack light for a cruise. Pack what you love and what makes you feel good. The cruise line will allow as much luggage as you’re comfortable bringing. Are you flying to the cruise?

Curious why you take the medium size cases vs the large ones? Is it bc you fly? We are going on our first cruise in Aug 2024 but are driving to our port in Orlando. I have a couple of questions. With one of those carry-ons being expandable, does that make it a risk of not fitting the carry-on standards? Also, you showed the TSA liquids bags and said you shouldn't have that much in the bag. Why is that? I thought everything that fit in the bag was allowed. Thank you! Always appreciate your videos.
Great questions. Yes I try not to expand the suitcase because that could be an issue for the flight. Regarding the TSA bags I feel like I’ve had a few experiences where in other countries I’ve been told that I had too many liquids, so it kind of carries over sometimes when I’m in the US. But you’re correct. TSA in the US should not be an issue. You should be able to jam the bags full of whatever you want. But what I do is take two of them because I would only be allowed to take one liquid bag Per adult. So I split them up between my sons and my bag.

Hi Sheri. We’re heading to the US from Australia🇦🇺 in Sep 2024 for a Eastern Caribbean on Icon OTS with my two girls (18 & 26) and partners/friend/7mth baby 😮. Second cruise out of Miami but my husband and I are going on a B2B. We’re going to Disney World for a week beforehand so I’m not sure if carry on only is achievable. What are your thoughts?
I think it’s too much to ask to do carry on only on this grand adventure! You’ll be doing laundry constantly and it’s just not worth it. Just my opinion. Sounds like an incredible adventure.
I like most of your videos, but those bags are HUGE!!! 3 people with 3 huge "carryon" bags plus 3 huge "personal" items. PLEASE consider checking your luggage!!! And intentional or not, you're going to be bopping people with those bags as you go down the asile. And you're going to be taking a LONG time stuffing those in the overhead (assuming you can find the space) REALLY extending the time it takes to load the plane. Then all the extra time as you deplane collecting all that stuff. PLEASE consider checking your bags. Not schlepping all that crap through the airport will go a LONG way to making your trip a lot less stressful and will make your fellow passengers not give you the side eye.
I disagree, except when we are traveling on aircraft (international for example) where we WILL check them if the guidelines call for it. We are considerate and swift, and our bags are within most US airline guidelines, and my husband carefully places them in the overhead without hitting anyone. Our personal items are small enough to fit in the seats in front of us. Having "lost" checked bags through connection snafus, I will avoid checking, at all costs.

I would be sure to pack your seat back bag into a two gallon zip lock bag. I have seen some nasty stuff in those pockets. At the end of the flight toss the ziplock before you put your bag into your luggage. Enjoy.

Go easy on the Lumify . . .i used them for years, then built up a reaction to them, and my eyes were red all the time. The more red they were, the more Lumify I’d use, which would help for a few minutes, then turn red again. Took two weeks of strong prescription drops to get rid of the issue. Now I never have red eyes unless I use Lumify.

Going on the Emerald Princess 12 day repositioning cruise from NY on Nov. 4. My biggest packing challenge are all my hair products and gadgets I need to bring to look decent! My tip is to bring a mini drugstore, since things, if even available, are expensive on the ship!

I tried to do carry on only for my 3 day cruise on the Disney Dream in 19 days but I failed! My daughter has costumes and princess dresses. We are doing the gift exchanges so I have gifts and room decor etc. Enjoy your Southern Caribbean cruise!

Going on the enchantment of the sea for the very first time of cruiser here. Am doing carry-on only, and just trying to figure out the whole thing.
We are going on the discovery princess on November 11 for a Mexican Riviera cruise. We are also thinking of doing a carry-on to avoid any lost bags, because we are doing a faux pas of arriving the day we leave. Wish us luck! And have a great cruise!

It's hard to do! I suggest: sneakers, sandals, and 2 pair for evenings (one formal, one sandal/wedge for all other dinners). Does that help?

I'm going on the Carnival Sunshine in 10 days and my biggest packing concern is I injured my leg and will have a scooter, I'm trying to decide if I should check as much as possible on the ship rather than have a bulky carryon. (we are driving to the port)

Going on our very first cruise on Sky Princess in February in Caribbean. How do you pack the most efficiently if you are plus size? My clothes take up way more room in a suitcase than a size 2 woman!
I hope you have a great cruise on Sky! Packing cubes and compression packing cubes are super helpful. Most people struggle with taking too many shoes (they take up a lot of space). Overall though, it’s nice that you don’t HAVE to pack light for a cruise. Pack what you love and what makes you feel good. The cruise line will allow as much luggage as you’re comfortable bringing. Are you flying to the cruise?

Curious why you take the medium size cases vs the large ones? Is it bc you fly? We are going on our first cruise in Aug 2024 but are driving to our port in Orlando. I was planning on large suitcases and a carry on back pack for my spouse and I. I am def an overpacked though lol😂. Also what hotel do you recommend in Orlando at Port? Canaveral? Thanks so muxh!! Yes we fly and pack carry on only- the medium and large cases are wonderful for driving to port. We love the Hilton Cocoa beach!!
I have a couple of questions. With one of those carry-ons being expandable, does that make it a risk of not fitting the carry-on standards? Also, you showed the TSA liquids bags and said you shouldn't have that much in the bag. Why is that? I thought everything that fit in the bag was allowed. Thank you! Always appreciate your videos.
Great questions. Yes I try not to expand the suitcase because that could be an issue for the flight. Regarding the TSA bags I feel like I’ve had a few experiences where in other countries I’ve been told that I had too many liquids, so it kind of carries over sometimes when I’m in the US. But you’re correct. TSA in the US should not be an issue. You should be able to jam the bags full of whatever you want. But what I do is take two of them because I would only be allowed to take one liquid bag Per adult. So I split them up between my sons and my bag.

Hi Sheri. We’re heading to the US from Australia🇦🇺 in Sep 2024 for a Eastern Caribbean on Icon OTS with my two girls (18 & 26) and partners/friend/7mth baby 😮. Second cruise out of Miami but my husband and I are going on a B2B. We’re going to Disney World for a week beforehand so I’m not sure if carry on only is achievable. What are your thoughts?
I think it’s too much to ask to do carry on only on this grand adventure! You’ll be doing laundry constantly and it’s just not worth it. Just my opinion. Sounds like an incredible adventure.

I like most of your videos, but those bags are HUGE!!! 3 people with 3 huge "carryon" bags plus 3 huge "personal" items. PLEASE consider checking your luggage!!! And intentional or not, you're going to be bopping people with those bags as you go down the asile. And you're going to be taking a LONG time stuffing those in the overhead (assuming you can find the space) REALLY extending the time it takes to load the plane. Then all the extra time as you deplane collecting all that stuff. PLEASE consider checking your bags. Not schlepping all that crap through the airport will go a LONG way to making your trip a lot less stressful and will make your fellow passengers not give you the side eye.
I disagree, except when we are traveling on aircraft (international for example) where we WILL check them if the guidelines call for it. We are considerate and swift, and our bags are within most US airline guidelines, and my husband carefully places them in the overhead without hitting anyone. Our personal items are small enough to fit in the seats in front of us. Having "lost" checked bags through connection snafus, I will avoid checking, at all costs.
