Get well soon girl 😊
Use a window blade for sticker removal. Great video and rest. It’s great you share your love of books. You can be a script reviewer and many things.
Thanks for the tip!💕💕
We all feel this excited when we have our newest book stacks, and you’ve captured that enthusiasm so well here 😁.
I have that same edition of Their Eyes Were Watching God, but mine is now beat up and covered in notes because I read it for an African American Literature class. It is one of my absolute favorite books. Hope you enjoy it!
Everyone is currently reading Beloved including me lol
Also, holder of a BA in English. It’s definitely (sadly) not the most practical of degrees to get. I went into high school education and cannot recommend that any less 😅….😭😭😭
I think being post-secondary English professor would be incredibly satisfying (but probably not extremely lucrative salary-wise). To go that route, you would need to get a terminal degree which most institutions consider either a PhD or a MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in English. There is also the expectation that you will be getting published either writing scholarly papers or creative writing, but the level of that really varies from institution to institution. Some places are more scholarly and want their professors to really be more about their studies while other places put more focus on educating the student body.
If you didn’t want to go into education, you could also parlay an English BA into a Masters in library science to become an librarian. That’s the route my girlfriend went. Within that realm, there are different specialities to choose from too since their are all sorts of different librarians.
I hope this info helps!
Thank you so muchhh!! I have recently semi-decided on post secondary education as a career but I am unsure. Also on the money aspect, my boyfriend plans on being a software engineer so I think I will be good. There are other ways of making money as well like RUclips. I just wanted more food for thought on the English BA business. Thank you!!
@@asmrgloria63 wonderful! I truly think being an English professor is like THE dream gig for books lovers. Especially teaching those higher level literature classes. Just talking and thinking about books all the time? Yes please, thank you! Best wishes to both you and your boyfriend on what I’m sure will be bright futures for you both.
@@asmrgloria63the only caveat I will add is that humanities positions in academia are rly rly scarce. Depending on the university you go to for your masters/phd you are more or less likely to be able to get a tenure track job, but many people end up working as lecturers/assistants which do not rly have any route to a teaching position as a professor. These jobs also pay rly poorly and dont have great protections, which is why there are so many lecturer/researcher unions forming rn. There are lots of jobs copy-editing, writing materials for companies, translation services. And the reality is that even being able to read and write at a high level is something that is valued in pretty much every industry. I know plenty of English/Literature majors that work in corporations, at nonprofits, or especially in publishing! There are also so many roles in public education that do not require you to be a full time teacher of minors! Theres administrative work, curriculum design, teacher's aides, office work, etc 👍 Ultimately, getting intern/work experience in the industries you're interested in is just as important as your degree hope this helps! :)
Great video, feel better soon! 🤧👍❤️
Thank you! 🤗

Great Video, in terms of the english degree you can’t do much imo i’d say be a full time youtuber 📚
Fair enough!
