Mashallah I think its great! I think Yasmin Yusuf is someone who is desperately seeking God, making sense of things that is relevant to what is happening in the Malay society and Islam (submitting ourselves to God). Movies like this show the distinction on faith and culture, be it for Muslims or our fellow Christians. I think its a fantastic movie for us to watch and ponder. May Allah bless her and give guidance to what she is searching for. Ameen.
the malays in msia are majorites tats why they often criticise a movie if it potrays some of other religion worshipping to the malays of msia , rather than just criticise and be so narrow minded , its best to understand and see whats a movie is trying to potray rather than just say "oh my , they show church scenes or sth like tat"its so childish , u see. care for the minorities too & i am a malay
takperlah.. ape pon korang cakap, citer ni memang macam best. takpe. filem2 macam ni la yang tak stereotype n cliche.. korang tau tak, aku dah bosan dengan filem2 skrang? huh, filem2 mcm ni la yang akan mencabar kredibiliti pengarah lain untuk buat 1 filem yang extraordonary n different.. barulah martabat filem Melayu boleh meningkat, boleh pergi international. baetul tak? aku sokong filem Melayu.. ikhlas drp Staricha 91..
Might be 10 yrs too late, but Muallaf just dropped on Netflix. It's like a bootleg quality la; bad audio (turn up the volume!), bit blurry, grainy screen and still in 'cinematic' mode. But better than nothing. And to anyone offended by Muallaf, keep your assumptions to yourself if you hadnt watched. No proselytization occurred to Muslims, no one got converted from this film.
fatihahrainbi- what is wrong with the church view? you mention "aku rase scene kat church tu kurang seswai ar"...keep your lips to your pocket next time ok. its a holy place and what is wrong showing a holy place to the public. we never complaint the masjid screening on our t.v 24/7 neway. respect plz. its just a movie. its not even a dosa to do so. but it will be a dosa if u condemn others, right malaysian?
r.i.p Yasmin,may god bless u...we really miss u a lot...
