I only dislike the video because hello fresh is a union buster predatory company. their workers work in very bad conditions, they fall and brake their bones because there is little to no work safety standards in their warehouses. It is like being sponsored by Cruella honestly.
Update on the Cloudberries puzzles - I solved Floral after I filmed this video and the fit is definitely much looser than their other puzzles, but it doesn't have that waxy coating that I know some people don't like. It was also more difficult than I anticipated!
Flora looks like fun, but Lucky looks like a real headache. I'm working on a puzzle with a black border, which of course i left for last. Very difficult.
I remember working the "I scream" puzzle with my brother during a massive snowstorm in the mid 1990s. We kept shivering just because looking at the ice cream and hearing the wind whip made us feel like we were cold. Fun memory and one I hadn't thought of until I saw the puzzle.
The whole video, I was like, “get to the diamond painting!” I love Diamond painting and Diamond Art Club has the best quality! I’m glad to see you are still continuing on with it. How lucky you are to have gotten so many of the puzzles on your wish list in this haul.
As a french speaker, Hercule Poirot is pronounced Air-kul (you can try to make the french "u" if you like, but we are used to english speakers saying the "oo" or "yu" sound if you can't) Pwa-ro (same for the "r", you can use the english "r", we'll understand). The "a" sound in "pwa" is like the "a" in "apple".
Hi, that “a as in apple” comparison only works for England English, the various American and Canadian “a in apple” sounds are quite different. That sound would be written with an o, the same o as in hot pot. Maybe only certain accents in Britain as well. Maybe write “pwah” where the “ah is as in aha”. Writing “air-kul” is quite a genius way to translate the pronunciation! Stealing that.
I love these haul videos! It also makes me so happy that you are sharing the history of these companies and artists. I feel like you are preserving such a special part of history that may have otherwise been forgotten. ❤️
Never stop buying them! Your collection is amazing. Everytime you buy a new giant one, I spend the next year anticipating the upcoming 5 part series and it makes me so happy! 😀
If you haven't found out already, the image in the magic eye puzzle (at least the image displayed on the top) is of intertwined geometric shapes and the exact shapes are also on the front in a circle at the bottom right of the box.
I’ve only ever done 500 piece puzzles as I didn’t think I would be able to do 1000 piece puzzles. Since finding your channel and watching your videos I’ve not only done two 1000 piece puzzles, I have 3 more to do! And instead of the cottages and landscapes I’d always done, I now like random object puzzles! In fact, 2 of the new puzzles I’ve bought are doughnuts and hot air balloons!! Keep puzzling!!
Same for me! I always told myself a 1000 pieces would be too much to do by myself. Turns out I am totally capable of finishing bigger puzzles. Sounds like you cought the puzzle-virus :)
Clearly, I'm the most excited about the Hercule Poirot one since I trotted off to pre-order it before the video was even done! FYI, his first name doesn't end in a -Lee but a -Le like "cuticle", and it's a running gag that nobody can say his last name unless you're French (or Belgian! haha). This was a great haul and I'm looking forward to seeing them in future videos.
It's nice to see Western Publishing get mentioned. I wasn't aware they did puzzles until now, but they were the ones who kicked out the little golden book series of children's books, and eventually renamed themselves Golden Book Family Entertainment. They acquired various companies over the years that sold various children's toys, such as jigsaw puzzles. I imagine Sandpiper was a brand of puzzle they acquired as there's not really much information about all the products and board games they produced before they eventually went bankrupt and became defunct. I'm a wisconsin native, and Western publishing was part of the local history here.
I love the "World of..." puzzle series. Even if the design is busier, I don't mind taking a longer time to complete these puzzles. Each character has a story and it's fun to read about them and discover them one by one. Great video as usual Karen! And good luck with your speed puzzling practice 🍀
I hope you do well in the worlds and your'e lucky. I did the Marauders map from harry potter. Every piece was the same shape and size so I couldn't use your technique of separating the pieces by shapes but I managed to pick out certain features. I leant that from your first video. My carer had a go at it several years ago and gave up after looking at the pieces. I told her about you and the way that you approach jigsaws. I had it framed for her and she's so proud of it. (she collects anything to do with Harry Potter)Thank you for finding me a new hobby. Love from the UK.
You are so lucky to get such amazing puzzles! I recently found several Spingbok Round puzzles at a thrift store too for $1.29 each! I left a few behind which of course I'm now regretting! I love the tea puzzle and the floral puzzle you received.
The Anamorphoses puzzle looks so interesting. I think that would be fun to put together and see how it works in the end and what you end up seeing in the silver foil - not that it's a mystery lol, just to see how well it actually looks like a normal picture in the reflection. Optical illusions are one of my favourite things.
Lucky! Our favorite puzzle was Dance Dance Dance! Also, my six year old squealed when she saw that you do the diamond dotz kits too! Thanks for being awesome and good luck in Spain!
Great puzzles! I have the Tropical Impressions hanging in my garage! It is such a gorgeous puzzle! The green border is pretty tough though! Have fun!! I agree with the other comments, never stop collecting! I have over 700 puzzles just in my to-do pile and I might be crazy, but I still keep buying puzzles! lol! Happy Puzzling and good luck in Spain!
I would be interested to see you film your teams / friends reactions to your puzzle room (or just your puzzle collection!) or you reacting to your friends collections ! Would be so fun
Thank you so much for showing your puzzle hauls! I use them as shopping lists. I'm one of your last haul videos, you had the Eeboo Alchemist's Cabinet and Home puzzles and I fell in love. They are as fun as I thought they'd be! Now I want that Poirot puzzle! Lucky!
Honestly I'm kinda digging the window grid in that 18k puzzle. It happened a few times to me when a big puzzle was made with two parts and weren't seamless connected. Like even the tiiiiniest amount of colour difference is a pet peeve of mine.
I loved those magic eye books and posters from the 90s. The design on the puzzle is the little design in the corner. I think the larger squares in the pattern make it more difficult to see. Any way. Best of luck-y in Spain. We're all rooting for you!
Just about a week ago I bought my first Puzzle that's bigger than 1000 pieces. For some reason, even though I don't even have space for smaller puzzles, I bought a 4000 piece puzzle which to me feels gigantic. I think the fact that it was on sale, the fact that it's a puzzle of Paris and the fact that I've wanted to try out a bigger piece led to that impulse purchase. Now I'm gonna have to jump over the half-finished puzzle every single time I enter or leave my room because right next to the door was the only place I was able to put it... 😅
I started on your 3000 piece puzzle on Friday, and wow, it's quite challenging. And huge. It's been a lot of fun, thanks for making such a pretty arrangement, I love the colors! 3 weeks it took, but I'm done now. It was super challenging and I can't believe you finished it in only 13 hours. It was fun though!
I prefer the already colored in mini puzzles. They look like they were loved. Idk it makes me happy to think that these puzzles brought joy to a real child ♡
Oh man, you are so LUCKY to have got your hands on that Midnight Snack sandwich puzzle! I've mentioned it on other videos of yours in the past, but I had that one back in the mid 90s when I was like 12 (found at a yard sale) and I only managed the border and like the top slice of bread and then gave up and got rid of it because I was a moron. I am a frequent thrift shopper and yard saler and for a few years now I have been looking all over for one as I desperately want to give it another try. I have only seen it on Ebay and only in the U.S. I am in Canada and shipping is always ridiculous, bringing the total cost of the puzzle to over $100. I guess I'm pretty much waiting for one with a shipping price I am willing to pay or a time when I am able to splurge, if I don't find it thrift first. I will forever be kicking myself for getting rid of that one, and will now be forever jealous of you lol.
So much fun waiting to happen. I had Pass the Ketchup and I loved doing that puzzle. Thanks for the video and good luck at the competitions! Wikipedia has some info on Western publishing - they were the Golden Book people. They had lots of imprints and some of them made puzzles. Nothing specifically mentioned about Sandpiper. Lucky
I absolutely love this haul videos. OMG, I wish I had my own house and dedicate a room or two for puzzles only. I am very interested in the Illusions puzzle because I was able to see it through the screen. You're so LUCKY to have the entire country.... I mean, world, looking out and searching for your all-time favorites. Keep puzzling!
I hoped for the giant Ravensburger puzzle with the dragons on it. 😅But this one looks fun too. I love flowers, so I would love to do the Cloudberries or the Sooness one. Glad though, that Cloudberries changed their cut. The last one I did was pretty difficult and had a few MISFITS (haha!). I hope you are LUCKY at worlds! 🥰
That Poirot puzzle looks fantastic! Your pronounciation was mostly right, it's "Err-kyule" if that makes any sense. You did MUCH better than some characters on the show though-- once someone called him "Hercules Poy-rott" which was hilarious. Loved seeing the vintage puzzles too!!
This. Is. Heaven😍 I wish I had the money to spend and get new puzzles all the time. I mostly buy them used, never had a bad experience so far and I save lots of money. I will definitely save up money to buy my first giant puzzle for Christmas this year! Hopefully my back can keep up with sitting on the hardwood floor for DAYS😂😅
@@KarenPuzzles got it! The problem is, I don't have a table so I do all my puzzles on the floor😅 I'll try and get one before getting a giant puzzle, hopefully this will make it easier.
I bought diamond art for Christmas gifts but I don't think anyone has tried them yet (myself included). I have a stack of old Springbok to solve once the garden is put to bed including a couple you had there. Not the Mondrian, unfortunately. That is gorgeous!! I'm very excited about your upcoming trip!! I feel lucky to have someone so relatable through whom I can have vicarious adventures!!
As a church librarian and book lover, I knew I knew that name as a book publisher. Western Publishing Company in Rancine Wisconsin actually is listed as publisher of Little Golden Books - at least many of the older ones. Don't know if it's the same company. As usual I enjoyed your video with all the tidbits about the puzzles. Good luck at World!!!
Lucky find with those doodle puzzles! I was doing a Diamond Art Club kit while watching. I totally get it--I just sped through a 6000 piece puzzle in less than a week (followed by the mystery speedpuzzling virtual contest with all that snow!!) and accidentally burnt myself out on puzzles. Of course now my diamond painting stash is starting to get out of hand...but not as bad as the puzzles!
I'd love to do that King Arthur puzzle or that round optical illusion one! the lucky lady puzzle looks cute but it'd be way too frustrating for me, and the subway map I think would just tire me out...
Karen, you are so lucky to have received all these puzzles, love them. My favourite of today's haul is the Anamorphoses one, it is so original and fun, I want to see it done!!!
I just wanna say you inspired me to buy a new puzzle. I’m a fan of whimsy pieces so I felt pretty lucky when I found 299 cats and a dog. All the pieces are cut out in the outlying of the cats (or dog) so nothing is a standard puzzle piece, I loved it.
Popping over to say that @Gabsmolders is live putting together a lego and said she'd love to do a puzzle colab video! She's a really big streamer and she really likes your stuff, maybe reach out and take a chance? Happy puzzling!
I'm most eager to try these World Of puzzles which I worried were limited in number. I've done the Shakespeare, Frankenstein, Dracula and am excited to try these.
I’d love to do the one from Sooness I think it was, that is illustrated by the same artist who illustrated Marching Spring. Her style is gorgeous! Good luck with your worlds preparations! ❤
That Cloudberries rainbow hombre one (which I saw from your channel) was the first high quality puzzle I ever bought. Glorious colors and thick pieces. So exciting.
Back in the day, my mother did the Midnight snack puzzle in the mid 70's. When I saw the puzzle it brought a huge smile on my face. I rather late to your channel however I love watching you build puzzles.
Those puzzles all have really great designs - lucky, indeed! I think the World of King Arthur one would be my favorite to do for both the theme and the beautiful art. Happy puzzling, Karen!
I've been seeing the world of puzzles in my local store, and they look so pretty. I got my sister one for her birthday, but I haven't been lucky enough to treat myself to one yet.
Oh that diamond painting looks nice. I learned to do diamond painting this summer and my six year old got interested. It has become one of her calming tools. It would be nice to see a video or short of your progress on that one but if it's just to help you unwind maybe you wouldn't want to make a video. My favorite puzzle you showed was the big tropical one. I love it!
Anamorphose images fascinate me, since the original paintings (from the Renaissance era) were painted by looking at the reflection of your painting in the cylindrical mirror in the center, and moving your hand with paintbrush by only looking at that reflection. So hard to do! I wonder if one could experience what creating the paintings was like by putting the puzzle together by doing the center beneath the cylinder mirror and then put the mirror in place and only look at the reflection in the cylinder while assembling the puzzle.
All the British puzzles had me so excited! I may have yelped out loud when I saw the 'saucy' puzzle from Happily - I have that one, it was great fun to do! I hope you enjoy it. I love all the food themed ones. Would love you to do an all food themed puzzle video 😁 Karen can only eat what she puzzles for a day? No, that's just mean XD
Hey Karen, love all these old puzzle videos. My mom used to do puzzles when I was a kid, but just the landscape ones. I wish I knew all those others existed. I did some Puzz 3D awhile back but never knew…. Started doing them about 9 months before Covid and, well, there are a lot now. BUT I haven’t done one in months because I only do them on weekends and you got me to check out Diamond Art Club and I’ve been doing that ever since!!! So was anxiously awaiting to see what was in that box!! As for these would want to do the Four Leaf Clover one or the Soon Kitchen Life Puzzle. Not sure if you read all these but Good Luck in Spain!!!
I did a 9000 piece puzzle with four boards stacked on top of each other and learned very quickly that small apartments and big puzzles don't go together very well 😅
You are a PA…………….Puzzle Archivist. Also, a PW (Puzzle Warrior, Puzzle Wunderkind, Puzzle Wizard). Rooting for you and the Misfits to have tons of fun at Worlds.
Dont stop buying giant and vintage puzzles. Keep doing it. I collect legos and even though i tell myself to stop, it brings me so much happiness so i want to keep going as long as i can afford it
Western Publishing Company was most famous for publishing comic books, coloring books, Little Golden books and Big Little Books. I guess they must have had a puzzle publishing division too.
I had and did the magic eye puzzle, ice cream, and the giant hamburger ... I love these vintage puzzles! So wish I had them now, but I don’t even save the ones I do now for very long. I usually do them once and pass them on. I love seeing them again. I’m Lucky I got to do them when they weren’t vintage !
If you want to avoid buying them, a good tip is to not press order, or not grab it off the shelf. Worked for me in the past, so hopefully it works for you.
You are lucky to have acquired so many puzzles. I’d have to spin my tiny decisions app to decide which one I’d do next. Good luck at your next competition.
That Magic Eye Illusion puzzle by Ceaco, is the picture at the bottom right of the box art. I had to hold it away a bit farther than what I usually do to see it.
I'd be LUCKY to come across the London Guards puzzle. I have this compulsion to watch their videos 😅. The "Flora" puzzle is beautiful. You got so many great ones, it's hard to choose 🌻🍄
Just discovered your channel and I'm hooked and bingeing! Love doing puzzles but just for slow fun. I really loved any of the Small Batch or Soon's Blooming. All gorgeous!
I can spot a DAC(Diamond art club) box anywhere Diamond painting is just so much fun I really love doing puzzles too I find them both relaxing fun and a challenge.
Good luck at worlds! I think i’d like to do the Mondrian (love his paintings!) and the subway puzzle- i think it’d be fun to build one track at a time and branch it out! I’ve been thrifting puzzles here and there to do on weekends (so far I find I like doing puzzles with non-rectangular shaped borders!), and last week I saw a circular springbok and was glad I knew what it was thanks to you! The design wasn’t something id like to solve so I left it for another person, but maybe someday I’ll find a fun one!
10:39 believe me I am not only still able to watch these with ease, I also can decipher this exact picture you are filming 😃 (for everyone who needs proof: it's no special motive but only some kind of "strings" that cross each other in 90° angles, similar to stairways looked at from above) ok I see the solution is on the picture itself 😅
Lucky! Hi from the UK 😊My faves to try would be the tea one and the ice cream, you scream. I did enjoy seeing all these puzzles being shown, your enthusiasm always makes me smile.
Wow! A puzzle of the victory boogie woogie! I would love to do that one! Just last week I saw the painting in the kunstmuseum in The Haque. And I was really impressed. And now you show this puzzle. I hope you make a video while doing it!!

The "secret image" on the puzzle at 10:47 is just that funky design in the lower right corner!
And good luck at worlds! I'll be watching the live stream!
I love all the modern puzzles you got! So pretty. I’m not into vintage puzzles but it was cool to see those too. You are so lucky 😉
I can't wait to watch the scavenger hunt one. Those other ones you did are sooooo interesting. I love your long deep dive videos.
I recommend watching a couple of David Suchet’s poirot episodes while doing that puzzle - it’s quite good and they say the name out loud a lot :P
Good lucky at Worlds! I just ordered my first Soonness puzzles so I can't wait to try them
Back in the day, my mother did the Midnight snack puzzle in the mid 70's. When I saw the puzzle it brought a huge smile on my face. I rather late to your channel however I love watching you build puzzles.
Several months ago I found Eaton’s Ice Scream thrifting and I absolutely love it! It was so fun to put together.
Lucky
Those puzzles all have really great designs - lucky, indeed! I think the World of King Arthur one would be my favorite to do for both the theme and the beautiful art. Happy puzzling, Karen!
So excited for you for your trip to worlds!!! You are lucky to have this chance to go! I will be rooting for you here in Washington!
I've been seeing the world of puzzles in my local store, and they look so pretty. I got my sister one for her birthday, but I haven't been lucky enough to treat myself to one yet.
Lucky you! The Sooness puzzles were beautiful! Enjoy Spain! I hope to see your sister Katie there too! Happy Puzzling!
I love it!
The ice cream puzzle was in the show Salute Your Shorts on Nickelodeon in the early 90s!
I want to see the Anamorphos puzzle assembled! Awesome.
I love the tea puzzle! as a big tea drinker I can't think (atm) of any tea themed puzzles I have ever seen. You are so lucky! Good luck in Spain!
I always have a huge urge to do big puzzles then I remember I have limited space lol
I mean, same 😂 Maybe all of these brand deals will get me a bigger house someday.
I did a 9000 piece puzzle with four boards stacked on top of each other and learned very quickly that small apartments and big puzzles don't go together very well 😅
I did a 3000 piece puzzle and it took up over half of my floor 😭 I wish I had more space
@KarenPuzzles 😂 maybe nobody knows but I can give you my house only if you came to lebanon
I love the 'World of' puzzles. Especially the Frida Kahlo ones are super colourful and pretty
I collect legos and even though i tell myself to stop, it brings me so much happiness so i want to keep going as long as i can afford it
10:40 - I see SEVEN levels on the Magic Eye puzzle! :)
Western Publishing Company was most famous for publishing comic books, coloring books, Little Golden books and Big Little Books. I guess they must have had a puzzle publishing division too.
Someday you need a full library setup but it's only puzzled and books about puzzles
I love that clover puzzle! Looks very tricky but in a good way
If you want to avoid buying them, a good tip is to not press order, or not grab it off the shelf. Worked for me in the past, so hopefully it works for you.
You are lucky to have acquired so many puzzles. I’d have to spin my tiny decisions app to decide which one I’d do next. Good luck at your next competition.
Lucky - The Tokyo Subway Map Puzzle - Good luck at Worlds😊
That Magic Eye Illusion puzzle by Ceaco, is the picture at the bottom right of the box art. I had to hold it away a bit farther than what I usually do to see it.
Excited to see some Diamond Art Club on the channel again. I know they aren't puzzles, but watching you talk about it got me into them!
I'd be LUCKY to come across the London Guards puzzle. I have this compulsion to watch their videos 😅. The "Flora" puzzle is beautiful. You got so many great ones, it's hard to choose 🌻🍄
Love the look of the Happily puzzles - from the UK too so definitely gonna keep an eye on them for future ones, lucky 🍀
Lucky you have found such a community that will share puzzles with you
Just discovered your channel and I'm hooked and bingeing! Love doing puzzles but just for slow fun. I really loved any of the Small Batch or Soon's Blooming. All gorgeous!
I can spot a DAC(Diamond art club) box anywhere Diamond painting is just so much fun
I really love doing puzzles too I find them both relaxing fun and a challenge.
As an avid puzzler in the UK, I'm loving this video! I always have a puzzle on the go in my work office for my teammates (and my) stress relief 💂🏻🫖👑❤
The World of Hercule Poirot one looks so fun! The illustration is beautiful :)
The character Hercule Poirot is Belgian, so it's pronounced air-COOL pwa-ROE.
Those Soonness puzzles are definatly some of my favorite images from her brand! Buying puzzles is sometimes just as fun as doing!
Lucky. I am a Poirot fan so I’d love to do that one. Just looked and it’s out of stock so I added it to my wish list. Good luck practicing for worlds.
I love the "oooo" reaction when opening every box ❤️
OMG! I am sick fan of Agatha Christie, I would love Hercule Poirot one 😍😍😍😍
Lucky, the ones im most interested in are the cloudberries, happily ones and that is cream cone one. those individual objects are MY kind of puzzles!
11:33 There is also a San Francisco puzzle!!!! I actually just got it from my local puzzle exchange. Interested?
