    Being triggered by a huge barking dog is not dumb. 53 years after my pit bull attack and even seeing a pit at PetSmart triggers fear. I was 11 yrs old and it was traumatic. My attack was no where near the extent of yours. I had a really torn up bottom lip full of stitches etc. but, as the doctor kept telling my mother, I was so lucky to still have a lip. I've always known it. Watching you makes it more real. You are so brave to share everything with us. Thank you.

      @EB18 as someone who owns a pittie, I am a strong believer it’s all about how these dogs were treated and trained when they were small.
      My pit is about 70 lbs and makes me carry her around the house and kiss her literally the whole day. That’s what I’ve done since she was 4 weeks old. She Loves other people and dogs, never EVER seen her aggressive. But it is good to be cautious because you never know how they have been treated or trained so I am also cautious around every dog because they can be unpredictable if you don’t know them. I am commenting basically to say it is okay to have fears but not all dogs or “dangerous” breeds are bad or mean.

    • @MiaLucifer
      @MiaLucifer 2 года назад +6

      @EB18 pitbulls are NOT dangerous dogs. That’s like saying all blacks people are dangerous humans. Pitbull isn’t even a legal breed. It’s a classification. Like saying someone’s Asian. Asians are so many different ethnicities. Just like pitbulls. Every pitbull is a mutt. So saying pitbulls are aggressive just shows how ignorant and uneducated you are. And Malinois aren’t aggressive. They’re working dogs who need a job and a goal. You don’t give them a job and they’ll going to act out. A special kind of person needs to own those dogs or just leave them for the military and police force. I’ve truly had enough of idiotic people saying pitbulls are mean when they’re all mutts. Dogs being aggressive has nothing to do with the breed. Any breed can be aggressive. Just like humans

    • @zammmerjammer
      @zammmerjammer 2 года назад

      @@MiaLucifer Yikes. You are super duper racist. Typical of pitbull nutcases. You just compared Black people to DOGS, ffs.
      As a Black person, I'd like to inform your dumb a..ss that we ARE NOT ANIMALS THAT WERE SELECTIVELY BRED FOR CENTURIES TO ATTACK AND KILL like these vicious gremlin dogs you are simping for. You actually don't get to co-opt the actual human struggles of actual human beings dealing with 500 years of brutal racism to A BREED OF DOG that spends its days licking its own butthole, ffs.
      Just gross. "just shows how ignorant and uneducated you are" -- ah, the irony. The total lack of self-awareness. The repulsive anti-Black racism.
      "Pitbull isn’t even a legal breed. It’s a classification" -- I love how you think that means anything. Because that "classification" is responsible for 80% of all fatal dog attacks. *80%*
      Lastly, pitbulls are not "working dogs" except for the "work" of ripping living things into bloody chunks. They were bred for bloodsport. KILLING THINGS is their "job and goal."
      Get bent.

    Brooklinn, you look amazing. When your doctor thinned your lip he did an excellent job. I am so excited to see what you will look like in two years. After your last surgery and your laser for the hair and then the tattoo, you won’t even be able to tell. I’m 70 yo and when I was 4 yo my father’s hunting dog attacked me and bit me twice across my entire face. I’ve carried these scars since 1956 and they are just part of me. When you reacted to that dog barking at the skate park I could feel that for you. I’m scared of most all big dogs and have to know them really well to ever trust them. I have scars all over my face but most people don’t even notice them. As I grew older a lot of the scars grew into the edge of my hairline. I have one to the right just above my top lip and you can actually see where the stitches were. There were no plastic surgeons in our small southern town so the doctor could put his finger through my jaw to the inside of my mouth. Only the one with the 3 stitch marks can be felt inside my mouth. I’m thankful my bite was no where near as bad as yours. It is amazing the technology that they have today and for that I am thankful for you. Before the bite and now after the bite and repair you look so much like Lovie Poe, the actress. She is beautiful and so are you. I love seeing the updates on you and your progress. Much love from Alabama. 🙏✌🏼❤️

    I was bitten by a pit on my upper lip as well, thankfully it was not too damaging, I lost sensation for a year and I barely have a scar, but I would have these episodes where if I saw any pitbul or big dog I would freeze and tear up and feel like I could not move. I have been working really hard to trust bigger dogs. I understand you completely, you had a severe case and It is completely normal for you to feel that way. I love hoe well you have been managing you are so strong.

    Hey girlie, I’m way older than you and have commented before. My partner had a cervical fusion (upper neck) and had to have an anterior incision to her neck. She was freaked and hoped people wouldn’t think it was a tracheostomy scar or something. They told her to massage it with vitamin E oil which she did and over time it’s not even visible. Scars take a long time to heal and fade but it’s amazing how much they chill in time. I’ve had multiple surgeries and a few younger age injuries as a kid. I can say that my surgery scars look a heck of a lot better than the poorly treated but bad injured skin scars. Your face has transformed so much but you still look like you and have the same energy and all so hopefully in time this will be just a series of bad memories and the trauma will fade a bit over time. I’m so sorry someone had no control over their dog at the park. Uncool for humans and other pets who are visiting like that cute skateboard hopping dachshund dog.
    I hope your love of dogs grows and heals also. You seem like such a loving and chilled person and someone who loves dogs. You have handled yourself well and did a good job just stepping away from the park while it was uncomfy for you and triggering your trauma a bit. Better to just peace out and go have a java and donut and chill. Did you know the people you said hi to at the park or is it just a skateboard community greeting situation there? I’ve heard Venice beach is super quirky fun and everyone can be themselves there. Sounds like Key West Florida as it used to be.
    Anyways good luck navigating the healing and hair issues and next steps. Sending you well wishes and hoping you guys aren’t being bugged at coffee with Chloe. That was a huge angering thing to me for you guys. You’ve been thru enough and don’t need more life crap to contend with. Sending big hugs from an older lesbian who is appreciating seeing the younger generation navigate life and also someone who has been thru surgery and a relationship and how that impacts a relationship quickly. My partner and I met a few weeks before she had surgery and then moved in together and immediately I needed a big spine surgery that took like 1.5 plus years for recovery and then I developed scarring on my dura which caused chronic pain. It is a long boring story but I get what it’s like to be having surgery and being cared for by a new love. It sure shows how they love you and someday Chloe will need you to love her in the same way. It’s always something in life and you guys just got it super early. Hang in and keep skating. I love watching your skating and hearing your happiness in that adventure. Big giant huge massive hugs for you and her.

    Hey Brooklinn, would you consider getting a cosmetic lip tattoo along with the hair removal? It might even be possible to use fillers strategically after the laser decreases the tissue volume to add volume back within the vermilion border on the tattoo! I understand why you didn't go through with the transplant, it's a serious lifelong commitment with the meds and you'd be suppressing your immune system, it's pretty huge x

    I know it has nothing to do with this video, but I've always loved your eye shape and just got to see what a gorgeous color they were because of the lighting. I was in a car accident almost 10 years ago and needed donor parts. I don't think most people realize what it truly entails, it's not as easy as a surgery and then done, good as new. I also don't think a lot of people think about the mind fuck it can give you to know someone's family's worst moment and someone's death contributed to your life. It's an amazing gift people give, but it doesn't stop it from messing with you. Also, also, it wasn't dumb to be triggered at all, not even a little bit.

    What great progress! The reduction was so successful. I’m noticing a lack of mobility… do you have any insight from doctors about Your upper lip being more mobile?

    Not lip related, but I've been wondering about your lovely teeth! How do they put the cute lil diamond in there?? Glue on top? Drill a dent? My four front teeth are crowns and I don't know if that makes me a better or worse candidate for...crown jewels lol.

    It’s not dumb. You did the right thing by heading out, no need to force yourself into to stay in an environment where a very valid trigger is present.

    So glad you thought it through...many people think oh it's just pills but the side effects of taking them for long term are directly related to kidney problems...nothing is more important than healthy organs

    Brooklinn, for those pesky annoying hairs, go see the girls at Zap electrolysis in Westwood. They are sweeties and it’s an easy way to get it removed permanently. (Assuming it’s ok by your doctor.) I speak from my own hairy existence! 🤣❤️

    haha I have a lot of maybelline lipglosses, you gotta take it off with a proper makeup-remover! It's a sort of oil-based cleanser

    Honey, I am old and have hair on my upper lip, sides of my face and chin! Pretty much since I was a young girl! I feel waxing works best, but uncertain if you could do that yet! Laser doesn’t work for me being blonde.
    You are beautiful!

    try using some makeup remover instead of scrubbing!! will be better for your skin 💗 also i'm so amazed at how awesome of a job your doctor has done, and your attitude about all of this is just so inspiring 🥺

    Heyyy pretty lady as a licensed cosmetologist and from personal experience. I don't recommend laser hair removal. I personally got it done myself on my upper lip. I had 10 sessions and it didn't remove the hair. It definitely changed the growth of the hair, but when I stopped it just came back like normal. Also, it hurts like a bitch. I know you've been through your share of pain through this journey so maybe it won't bother you. Feels like rubber bands snapping you super hard, they gave me numbing cream...it didn't work 😭. There are definitely different options though! I wish you the best with whatever decision you make!! You're incredibly strong and I admire you!

    I swear the Finishing Touch Flawless Women’s Hair Remover works great. It’s $20 at CVS, Amazon, Target, and Wal-mart. It’s an electronic razor and you could even use it on the inside of your lip.
