      Well from my reading into this case he was officially diagnosed by a jail psychiatrist as having. “Antisocial Personality Disorder” and after reading about that, he is WORSE than a narcissist because the difference is that narcissists DO care about being validated by others where as ASPD people don’t care at all what anyone thinks, don’t feel many emotions besides anger and indifference. He literally lacks any humanity, it blows my mind how evil he is.

    Isn't it crazy how calm he is when he doesn't have an audience. I believe he totally revelled in the attention of the trial. Thankfully the judge didn't miss a single beat.

      Worried about what appeal papers he might be missing, why was he not worried about missing over 70 people on the parade route! I am 749 miles south of Waukesha, and my heart is broken for all the lives he destroyed. He destroyed the lives of everyone at the parade, and doesn't care. The entire city of Waukesha, county of Waukesha, State of Wisconsin, and hundreds of thousands of others have been affected by his senseless act. May he live a very long life in prison thinking of the damage he caused.

    It’s perhaps a blessing in some ways, that Brooks chose to represent himself in this first trial. This way, his nature is on full display, and no attempt to create a narrative of him as a misunderstood victim, can withstand his own demonstration of his actual character.

    If his mother had been a good human and felt empathy towards the Sparks family who lost their little kid and also the five other family members that he mowed down, she would have told him stop acting and take responsibility for your actions.     Sue Opper looks exhausted. I can't imagine how much stress this trial has put on her!! Just think of holding the hopes of all of those victims on your shoulders throughout the trial, not to mention the period leading up to it! I doubt she's reading these comments, but if anyone connected with her ever does, please let her know that she and her co-counsel did an outstanding job and that her efforts are recognized by those outside the community. I know that many of the victim impact statements praised her and the two others from her office that presented the case, and I'm sure that meant the world to them! They all did an amazing job!!

      The thing I noticed about the entire prosecution team is their down turned mouths. All of the horror and sadness they see on a daily basis shows on their faces.     So happy to notice the survivor Tyler sitting there again. Even though the verdict has been handed down and sentencing has concluded, he is STILL present. Considering this monster is still trying everything he can to snake his way out of this, I assume this young man WILL be present until he knows DB is denied the appeal and thrown away for life. His impact statement has stood with me and now I see the reason why. He such a resilient young man and he will go so far in life. Every victim who lost their life will live on through him.

And it is offensive when people use mental illness to get out of a punishment they deserve and or was never the case before . He tried saying at his sentencing that he had been " medicated and in mental facilities " before but that was a lie as well the only time he ever got medication and or had " mental" treatment was one time when he was in jail . Other than that there is no record whatsoever that shows or proves he has ever been seen , diagnosed , treated or medicated for any mental illness of any kind . The only thing I can see is a pathological liar . That will do and say anything to avoid accountability !

    I have so much respect for the prosecutor as well as the judge in this matter. The prosecutor had a very long, hard, frustrating time also and handled it well - only complaining once when she had tolerated so much. She said her piece and moved on.

If you listen to his hearing yesterday from Milwaukee, the judge out loud asked if he would be in Dodge by then.     This is the first time I've seen this person throughout this entire ordeal completely humbled in a manner that even remotely communicates Contrition, given the heinous acts he's committed and aloof demeanor he has consistently portrayed throughout these proceedings. I have to tip my hat to this judge because not only is she completely patient, intelligent, and beautiful.. but she is definitely caring, fair and benevolent given the range of her authority. This is probably one instance throughout many unsuccessful ones which has proven to be completely Fair in its outcome. My heart goes out to Wisconsin and all of the victims who lost their families and last year's tragedy.

    He's always sweet and polite when he wants something until he's told no. Since there was no reason for Judge Dorow to say no he remained polite. This is a trick narcissists use so long as they're getting their way.
    I do think it's interesting that the jail even took away his toiletries. The punishment is at its beginning stage.

      He has grounds to appeal as all convicted felons do, but he definitely won't win. It's up to a 3-judge panel. He won't be there. No judge in their right mind will grant an appeal. It's just another example of it being all about him and not caring about what he did.

      @@RunSamRun94 exactly, some people are wondering why the judge tolerated his actions during the trial and why she would give multiple warnings before removing him to the other court. It was to ensure he had 0 reason to say the trial was improperly executed.

    I agree with other comments that narcissistic people don't tend to kill themselves. I'm retired law enforcement and my wife is a mental health social worker and we have dealt with people like him our entire careers and he is one of the scariest we have ever seen.

    Um sir, you’re NOT meeting up for coffee, but for a hearing and in case you’ve “forgotten”, you’ve repeatedly disrespected her and she loathes how you carry yourself.
    SHE is professional, respectful, and courteous…she does not LIKE you. She is merely tolerating you with the understanding that she doesn’t have to interact with you much more, and that, you’ll be returned to your cell and out of her hair for 6 life sentences plus some years.
    He is not only weird, but extremely disturbed.
