      Thanks! I know the feeling. Central Arkansas got them about a week earlier than we did. This is the first big haul we've had. Last year was the first year we found any, and it was just three dried-up ones. We were about a month late, but this year we decided to be the early birds. With the rain we got today, it'll push a few more up out of the leaves for next weekend's hunt. Thank you for the comment, and I hope you get a good haul of them soon!

      That's right, but I don't think my girlfriend would allow us to leave them! Remember, she's the one with the knife haha! Thank you for the view and comment!

      @@mhm8222 You may very well be right, but I think having more rain than we did when they first came up would've given them a boost. We pick them no matter what their size is, because if we leave them, there's a good chance they won't be there by the next trip. We're not the only folks that hunt there.

      They don't grow once they are up. I've left them before for 3-4 days before multiple times and they never get any bigger so that's just nonsense

      Thank you! We're in northwest Arkansas. They've been coming up for about two weeks now. I think we have another two good weeks left of hunting. We got a good ground-soaking rain all day today, so we should have a good chance at finding the small ones that will grow and pop up out of the leaves by next weekend. My girlfriend just cooked some with chicken, carrots and onions. We're eating them as I type this. Thank you for the comment, and I hope you can find a good batch of them for yourself this year!

      @@TattooedGranny Good luck on the eclipse, and hopefully by that time the mushrooms will be up in your neck of the woods.

    What kind of forage is that and which way is the hill facing?

    • @ChangeIsGoodCoinHunts
      @ChangeIsGoodCoinHunts  7 месяцев назад +1

      We're not sure which type of tree we're hunting around. It could be related to a hackberry tree. The bark is smooth, similar to a sycamore, which is also found in this area. The mushrooms can be all around the trees, but they tend to favor the north side a bit more. The hunting spot is all flat. I'm not sure what the undergrowth is, either, but it sure isn't keeping the morels from coming up from underneath. We're going to his this spot again next weekend, as we just got a nice rain. If we find a decent amount, I'll make another video. Thank you for the question!

      They're working their way north! There will be more during the next week or two, especially if you got the rain we did down here.
