Hoon Lee is the best Splinter for me. Not only is his iteration of Splinter one of the best parts of the 2012 series (and there are A LOT of good things about it), but it has everything Splinter should have in his voice. It's got strength and power behind it. When he gets angry, you can legit feel in his voice that this is a guy you don't want to mess with. It's got humor and fatherly love behind it, especially when he comes to save the turtles in situations they can't handle. You really get the feeling that he loves his sons dearly. It's got wisdom in his speech. Between the proverbs and various lessons, but also when he trains with the turtles. You can feel he knows what he's teaching. Hoon Lee just has it for me. He's easily my favorite Splinter.
Kevin Clash is my personal favorite one on this list, but kudos to Mako Iwamatsu for being the first actual Japanese man to voice this Japanese character.
Kevin Clash, Darren Dunstan, Hoon Lee, and the late Mako Iwamatsu are the best voices. They capture the wisidom that Splinter has, while also making him sound like a fatherly figure.
Hoon Lee was definitely the greatest for me. Splinter was a loving, caring, nuturing father and teacher. But he was also firm and strict and whenever he got cross with the turtles, of course, he would raise his voice at them, but not too much, as Splinter is a peaceful but strong man 💛
Clash will always be the definitive voice of Splinter. He brought the right amount of wisdom and warmth to the role. Another personal favorite is the the current Splinter on the Nick show played by Hoon Lee.

The most badass Splinter easily is Hoon Lee's 2012 one, He sounds like a strict father and has incredible fighting scenes, but when he's warm and knowledgeable it feels so organic. Kevin Clash is my 2nd favorite cause he really brought a great feeling to that kind caring father Splinter is, The scene where he is talking to raph about anger makes me tear up everytime. After that I gotta go with 1987 as the voice there just sounded like a true martial arts master, very wise. The rest of the voices Im just okay on but those are my Top 3 And honestly While I do love the first 5 seasons of the 2003 series before the BS of Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers I never really liked 2003's Splinter voice. It sounded a bit too forced like someone trying to mimic a voice of someone wise rather than actually perfecting it
Peter Renaday's Master Splinter comes from a different origin than the original Splinter. He sounds very wise, very fatherly, giving advice because he was human at one time until the ooze mutated him into a rat, so he knows the ways of the world and Peter's voice lends to the fatherly advise giver, based on Splinter's worldly experiences. Whenever I hear Peter's Splinter, it brings back fond memories of watching TMNT marathons with friends and pizza. :) :) :)
Kevin Clash because he gives Splinter the right age, weight, and wisdom for a rat who is old but has not lost his touch! Though Mako is runner up as second!

Mako Iwamatsu also played Uncle Iroh in Avatar: the Last Air Bender and I'm such a simp for his voice. His voice reminds me a gentle soul. But that's being said HOON LEE is definitely my favourite! His voice is so nostalgic for me. TMNT helped me get through a lot when I was a kid and actually inspired me to be active and take care of me body. Hoon's voice is like somebody else said, so struck but warm. He's just such a good father. All that and it doesn't sound like a middle aged white man trying to be an old Japanese man! 😂

Every different version of Splinter throughout the years should have his own voice. Kevin Clash should be the voice of Splinter for only the 90s live-action movies. I wish he had still resumed as the voice of Splinter also for the third live-action movie instead of James Murray (1:20) who filled in for Kevin Clash. I often wondered why Kevin Clash didn't make it to still voice as Splinter also for the third live-action movie.
I kinda disagree. Darren Dunstan was kinda perfect for Splinter at the time of the show. 2003 show was much darker than 2012. I like to say Splinter in 2003 was much more serious.

Not to mention I like this kind of Splinter the best as the others were more strict or stricter than they should be. Splinter has quite the origins: Some have him having been a Human turned into an Anthropomorphic Rat, and some having had a similar origin to the Turtles having had a Martial Arts Owner.
Peter Renaday, Kevin Clash, Darren Dunstan, Terrance Scammel and Hoon Lee are the best ones; giving the perfect balance of the mentor and father aspect of master Splinter.

I grew up with a good portion of these, but Mako is definitely my favorite. I’m a big fan of Hoon Lee too, but for some reason Mako is my favorite. Not only does Splinter sound like a stern sensei at times, but he sounds very wise and caring about his sons. Maybe I’m also biased because he played Uncle Iroh in Avatar.

MAKO! Such an iconic voice.
I grew up with a good portion of these, but Mako is definitely my favorite. I’m a big fan of Hoon Lee too, but for some reason Mako is my favorite. Not only does Splinter sound like a stern sensei at times, but he sounds very wise and caring about his sons. Maybe I’m also biased because he played Uncle Iroh in Avatar.

Kevin Clash and Darren Dunstan are my favorite Splinters. They're also known for portraying Elmo from Sesame Street and Maximillion Pegasus from Yu-Gi-Oh!
When I was introduced to Splinter 2003, he was grumpy in my opinion. But later on, I start to like his sarcastic snark on Michaelangelo.
The clip you played of Mako is actually Greg Baldwin filling in for him (since Mako passed away during production for this film). Should've added him in, too.
