Just ordered myself a Mc 707 and as im 61 yrs old and spit bars ( Rap ) i think im going to be having a few late night session s recording , ... Thanks for your help showing me how it works the beats are fire !!
Excellent Thank you so much! You make learning the 707 way more fun then the Roland tutorials that’s for sure! I would definitely watch if you did those!🎵😎
Thanks for the vid! I am watching it for the first time and I noticed an error. Not sure if you catch it later on in the video or not... At around 16:35 when you are setting the key, you incorrectly adjust the octave down 5 instead of transpose.
@@ElectronisoundsAudio Right on! Just wanted to share for two reasons. First, to make sure that I understand what is going on correctly. Second, to help out someone else who may run into the same situation Are you still using the MC707? If not did you get something else instead? I just picked one up to try out.
I still jhave it, I just don't use it as much as I'd like to - as a sound designer, sound bank maker and dedicated synth geek, I have WAY too much gear..... 😁👊 @@voski4904
Really great demo of MC 707 as you learn it’s finer tweaks. You always bring good content man! My 707 is on it’s way - adding to my personal setup. Big love from Brisbane Oz!
"How to get a 16-bar crash/riser on the MC-707" - This was the second livestream of yours that I watched. The first was the deep dive/tutorial you did that described how you created your ClownFest 5 set. In that video, you talked about how you wanted to use a 16 bar sequence with a crash and riser, but couldn't do that with most hardware gear (except the Elektron Octatrack or something). You can do this on the MC-707 by using one track (say 8) and set it to "clip" (shift-sel under General tab - set Sound Source = Clip... let's call this clip 1), then set the clip to 8-bars with your crash sequenced at the beginning of course. Next you would create another clip (we'll call it clip 2), set it to 8-bars and put your riser wherever on the 8th bar it needs to be. Then go back to clip 1, highlight it the window and select "Settings" on the track menu in the window. Under the SEQ tab, scroll down near the bottom and you'll see a "Next Clip" selection and set it to Clip 2. Go to clip 2 and set the same next clip setting to Clip 1. Now you have a repeating 16-bar sequence that starts with your crash and ends with your riser before it repeats all over again. Also, since Track 8 is set to "Clip" you could copy and past this 2 clip set and change things up over time and record motion changes or whatever to make the crash/riser change however you might want it to through different Scenes if you wanted to. Very powerful!
THANKS for this info!! ❤️❤️ I trigger all the clips on a row as a "scene". If I have the crash/riser spread across 2 rows, and switch to play the full 2nd row of clips, now i'm starting the crash/riser sequence in the middle though and we're off by 8 bars?
@@ElectronisoundsAudio It would IF you include the clips with your crash/riser in the scene (forcing yourself to use the whole line of tracks from 1 to 8 in the row). You don't HAVE to include the whole row of clips in a scene, or even a row at all (use clips from all over the grid if you want". Maybe try leaving out Track 8 from your scene or just leave out the clips you need for the crash / riser until you want to change things. There are lots of options and as of this week, the scene options have been updated with the 1.71 MC-707 firmware update. Lots of options to make things work the way you need them to.
I'm going to buy it but I'm worried about the fact that the filter doesn't affect some presets too much, were you able to observe it in depth? It is possible that they do not affect the samples either? Thank you for your video, very illustrative.
Hey Hey, Thanks for watching! I'm pretty sure you can set the filter(s) how you want though - this thing goes absolutely craaaaaazy deep with the options! 😁👊
Great job & video on the MC-707! Planning to get an MC-707 very soon, thus, checking out several channels. (Though somewhat disappointed on the price increases, will still get it.)
@@LuisTorres-qz5kr I just got a 707 and I have an mx1… how do you use the two?… I have used my 101 and the mx’s side chaining to good effect… can you route the 8 tracks individually through the mx?
Hi, at the end of this stream you were mentioning a video output (via USB, there are no HDMI ports on the MC-707), but I don't see that happening because it doesn't have a Thunderbolt-3 controller onboard like a Macbook Pro does. Basically on that Macbook Pro, there is indeed a USB-c PORT that does connect to the MC-707 (USB-b), but that's just the port/form factor of that connector. Cool idea, but I don't think Roland could upgrade the firmware to support external video out on that USB port ! ;-)

Nice stream, as always. I like what you have to say about the 707, and it would be interesting to compare this to the Synthstrom Deluge, which I've also heard and seen great things about. They're just hard to get.
Hey Hey, Scott! Thanks for watching! 🤗😁👊 I tried really hard to get in to the Deluge, but every time I tried to watch a tutorial on it, I just can't into it. 🤔 The no screen and "the pads are the screen" workflow is just not for me. That being said, I know a few people who have the Deluge and they all seem to **LOVE** it. I've not heard anyone ever saying anything bad about the Deluge who owns one, which speaks volumes as well, imho. 👊
