The look of that truck is just amazing! I’d love to own one if those! Your uncle us a lucky man, especially when you finish all that awesome work you’re doing to it. Can’t wait to see it finished!
I love the seats. The super single tires are good to. Need to put full fenders over them. The same width as the tires. Full diamondplate the frame. They make a in frame tool box. That will fit in between the fuel tanks. Cool build.
Really cool truck!! I think the only things I'd change would be to put air brakes, a pair of nice heated and cooled air ride seats, a train horn and a nice pair of stacks. Nice work.
Looks very nice you’ve done a very good job as far as you’ve been and I’m sure it will be very nice the rest of the way so keep up the good work God bless
Good job man. This truck is bad to the bone! I found this video in my suggested list. I am building what I call a typhoon 2.0 so I watch a lot of car build videos.
1 1/2 years and no updates? Looks like a great project, so it would be nice to see what else has been done so far. By the way, what is that, something like 100 gallons of fuel between those tanks? Expensive fill-up, but will keep truckin' for a REALLY long time!!
This truck has been on the back burner while we’ve been working on other projects. I have been working on it recently, and I’m plumbing the fuel tanks at the moment. I hope to have it running this winter. Each tank holds 120 gallons.
@@RacingRejects - Holy cow that's a lot of fuel!! You could practically drive that thing coast to coast without stopping!! I hope all the work goes well for you, and I definitely look forward to seeing more on the project!!
is this the cannonball series, I didn't know that they were 11" s wider than the others ,or is just this one ,I did a 51 mdl 5400 Chevy Coe into a p/u its on RUclips these cabs are my favorite.
Sorry Donald, we have been focusing our time on other projects preparing for hot rod power tour. This build is one of those "take the time to get it right" builds that slowly progresses. We will post another video on it after enough work has been done for an update. Thanks for actively watching our channel!
If u just watched this video, let us know how you got here! Did u search "cabover," see us on facebook or instagram, was it suggested by youtube, or did you find it on a google search? Thanks for watching!
I would like more info about the rear brakes and the electric booster and how to you get title if you don't even know year I really need that info I have a 69 dodge and need paper work please reply
whatever happened to this build, two years plus two more years. i made a couple of Inquires over the last two years. did you end up selling the truck. forgive me for saying but, you say one thing and do another sir why would you do that?
Still slowly chipping away at it, this is just a hobby so life gets in the way. I just finished a big hurdle yesterday which was the proper hydraulic pump for the Hydromax power steering and brakes. I promise I’ll post a new video when I get it to run.
You just trashed the truck ! Should have put the truck BACK as GM built it . Just how many trucks do you see with a 500 + gas powered engine... What a waste " you guys are NUTS ....
The owner of the truck wants to bring it up to modern standards so it can actually be used in the real world. We do want to do something cool with the original drivetrain in the future, but that will never be as practical as this truck.
Just found your channel it's awesome i love old trucks i have been looking for something like that for a long time to pull my 5th wheel trailer your rear suspension setup is awesome i have subscribed to your channel i hope you will keep us updated on the build God-bless you and yours 🙋♂️🇬🇧
Like it but my design would be a bit different with shorter tanks worked around with a dump bed with the rear closer up more of a giant pickup with a dump bed but that’s gonna be my design
We had a great time at Power Tour last year, though we were only able to make the Birmingham stop and we got there late due to clutch issues with Wesley’s cougar. You can see the video of that trip on our channel. In our most recent video we talked about this year’s tour which we should be going on in June.
I'm building a 54 GMC 450. I'm not finding any more info on the H Series Trucks besides Yours. So You say they are 11 inch's wider than the standard Cab, which I assume You mean a 350 with its Fenders. As You probably know the 450's had wider front Fenders. So does the H Series trucks have an entirely different Cab ? Probably Fenders to ? I'm planning on putting mine on a 06 Topkick Chassis and need about 6 inch's wider and I'm planning on Cutting mine in half and adding it in. Its not like I'm just going to find an H laying around to look at.
beautiful Truck , Beautiful work , can I give you a free Idea regarding Engine access ? I am an Artist not a Mechanic . so this one is from me to all Mechanics and enthusiasts of such projects : why not make rail access frames for engines where you can Just pull the entire engine and transmission for maintenance and or service , same concept of dowers mechanism , one frame stays linked to the engine mounds / engine mounds to truck frame and the bearing linked sub frame be bolted to engine and extends to have cross bars with seat for transmission . all you would need then is to detach drive shaft universal link from transmission and some engine wiring , I am including the radiator been also part of it to be seated on front bars so you don't even need to remove hoses . Just an Idea .
The look of that truck is just amazing! I’d love to own one if those! Your uncle us a lucky man, especially when you finish all that awesome work you’re doing to it. Can’t wait to see it finished!
GMC Model 950 COE was featured in 1958 TV Serries Cannonball. What a looker it is!!
Wow! What an awesome project. Each minute into the video it’s more and more impressive! Keep up the good work.
I love old COEs and this one is very, very nice. Excellent job.👍
I had so hoped this would be someone actually restoring a COE. Gotta Go!
Love the old COE trucks!
Do a shot every time he says "Actually"! Just playing, that truck has huge amounts of potential, hoping to see more of it in the future!
LOL
Looks great!
Nice work.
Popped up in recommended list, loved both trucks, love to see you build a walk thru slim line sleeper ( bunk) that looks period for it.
Love how you did that rear 4 link with air, nice job! Fyi that 12 valve needs a manual behind it! Sweet truck!!
YOUR COE TRUCK IS A BEAUTIFUL PROJECT ,LOVE TO SEE IT WHEN IT,S DONE ,GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
Looks very nice you’ve done a very good job as far as you’ve been and I’m sure it will be very nice the rest of the way so keep up the good work God bless
Wow, really like the idea of future maintenance. There wasn't much thought of that from the factory...
Very cool video and channel. Thumbs up liked for you.
I’d like to see the original engine must be a beast
Cool project.
Just found your channel it was recommended and I'm glad it was that coe is awesome looking I subscribed so hopefully can see it finished
Amazing 😵😵
Here's a thought...pikes peak hill climber. Awesome.
Good job man. This truck is bad to the bone!
I found this video in my suggested list. I am building what I call a typhoon 2.0 so I watch a lot of car build videos.
Yes, bring on more of the truck...
Way COOL !
I'm jealous. 👍
i drove one with a 671 in it pulled two trailer.s in california
I like restomod COE's a lot, have you considered doing a tilt-cab on it to get to the engine?
No, the cab was already mounted when I started working on this project. The large hood and removable floor panel make things accessible.
1 1/2 years and no updates? Looks like a great project, so it would be nice to see what else has been done so far. By the way, what is that, something like 100 gallons of fuel between those tanks? Expensive fill-up, but will keep truckin' for a REALLY long time!!

I like how you're building in ease of maintenance. Have any of these been restored to stock original?
is this the cannonball series, I didn't know that they were 11" s wider than the others ,or is just this one ,I did a 51 mdl 5400 Chevy Coe into a
p/u its on RUclips these cabs are my favorite.
Absolutley awesome ride (actually). ;)
Well you made a proper mess of that!
why haven't there been anymore videos on this cannonball coe
We’ve been working on other projects in the past year, the COE will be the priority next year. I’m hoping to have it done before next fall.
what ever happen to update videos its been at least 2 years
If its 11in.wider be nice to find a super nice Cadillac front seat and fully wire. The outside pure trk.but inside pure luxury in leather.
Would love one of those to stuff my 04 cuumins in it
Very Nice Project, but an old Jimmy with a two stroke Detroit Diesel would be music !!!!
diesel diesel i luv screamin demons too but you cant beat the cummins for reliability and good mileage
Nick, still looking for a update. Hope to see something soon.
Sorry Donald, we have been focusing our time on other projects preparing for hot rod power tour. This build is one of those "take the time to get it right" builds that slowly progresses. Racing Rejects Hot Rod power tour sounds awesome. Got any posts for that. Take lots of pics of the HRPT. Have a great day Nick.
If I'm not mistaken that cab would be a 50 with the five window the 49 had no side windows and one big back window.. but don't quote me on that..
whatever happen to the GMC coe, its been a while to say the least
Planning to shoot an update soon. It should be running by the end of the summer.
If u just watched this video, let us know how you got here! Did u search "cabover," see us on facebook or instagram, was it suggested by youtube, or did you find it on a google search? Thanks for watching!
Racing Rejects it was in my suggestion list i have a 49 chevy 3 window coe
Racing Rejects why does yours not have a rear window was it a sleeper cab truck and someone filled it in?
I believe it came from the factory without a rear window. I’m guessing it had a box or something on the back so there was no need for a window.
Racing Rejects wow didn't know they were offered like that, it makes sense
I would like more info about the rear brakes and the electric booster and how to you get title if you don't even know year I really need that info I have a 69 dodge and need paper work please reply
i dont know if thats vanadium steel.....model t. s where vanadium....its why there still arouñd

I had to move on because you wouldn't get out of the frame. Just show us the truck, please.

I ACTUALLY like this project... It's ACTUALLY a sweet ride!
Your work looks great. The seat access idea is a big big big plus
Watching again, yeah I'm sold. I'll take two. Where do I send the check?
That truck is awesome! Looking forward to following this build!
"hardly any rust..."
Whaaaaat? 😂
interesting us definition of rust. Here in Germany one would say completely rusted.
wholes are no rust. obviously.
Very nice workmanship ✌️
Just found your channel it's awesome i love old trucks i have been looking for something like that for a long time to pull my 5th wheel trailer your rear suspension setup is awesome i have subscribed to your channel i hope you will keep us updated on the build God-bless you and yours 🙋♂️🇬🇧
Nice truck nice work
So. Cool
cool truck!
Amazing bro....from Indonesia
Not a cabover SNUB NOSE
Like it but my design would be a bit different with shorter tanks worked around with a dump bed with the rear closer up more of a giant pickup with a dump bed but that’s gonna be my design
Where are the pedals!!?
This build has the best of every rig made! Great choices.
Radical truck. Looking forward to seeing this truck transform. I have a1951 REO that’s in the beginning stages of being restored. Do it justice.

Cool truck.
Cool truck

Very cool truck.. I'd like to see it upon completion...
Hows the COE coming.
Haven’t had time to work on it lately, hope to have it plumbed, wired, and running very soon.
Nice!
Really amazing
What did you do with the stock motor
We have plans to use it in another build.
Fala muitoooooo
Nice truck and I like the frame you used along with those Big Ass Tires in the back...
Hey Nick, how was the power tour. Looking forward to an update, maybe some pictures of the power tour.
We had a great time at Power Tour last year, though we were only able to make the Birmingham stop and we got there late due to clutch issues with Wesley’s cougar. You can see the video of that trip on our channel. In our most recent video we talked about this year’s tour which we should be going on in June.
I want to have it :-) kind regards from germany
this is a dream. I will come to you someday.
And then I search for a truck for Germany. bye bye
Not Original anymore , you've distroyed it..., so sad ...

Yes, the cab and fenders are different from the standard trucks.
Do You know if the 54-early 55 H series had the one piece Wind Shield like the regular Cabs ?
As far as I know, they are 2 piece.
Wish I had a nephew that would build something like that for me. The truck is awesome.
keep up the hard work! I have a 54 IH R160 cab over that I show.
Good walk around. I liked the reference on the breaks. The hood looks a little out of place. Looking forward to your next update.
The hood isn’t mounted yet, it was just sat in place for the video.
