It really feels like a lot of the energy present in the actual song is lost somewhat in the live rendition. For one thing, it's inspired by trance music and dance, but it has to be played "live". So what's basically a techno dance song is being converted into a alt/rock piece and it loses the drive of the original. I know he wants to actually play the stuff, and be out in front of everyone instead of behind a keyboard, but for this song he really looked constrained.
Took my kid to see him in concert the other day. His eyes were closed the ENTIRE time! Really was a good concert but I felt a disconnect. He really needs to open his eyes and connect with the audience more.
