  • Welcome to Hotel Monteleone! I'll be sharing my experience staying at this world-famous hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. If you're wondering where to stay in the French Quarter and if it's worth it, I'll give you all the details. Spoiler alert: I absolutely think it is!
Upon checking in, I was greeted by the fantastic and attentive five-star staff. The room, although smaller than expected, was clean and the linens were of the highest quality. While the decor may have a slightly dated New Orleans style, the hotel's amenities and service more than make up for it. The only minor issues I encountered were with a worn entertainment system and a slightly broken light switch in the bathroom.
During my stay, I had the chance to explore the hotel's two main attractions: the Carousel Bar and the rooftop pool. The Carousel Bar is a popular spot, so be prepared for a possible wait. The pool, although small, provided a relaxing environment, but note that it is not heated. The hotel's rich history, dating back to 1886, adds to its charm, and if you're interested in the haunted side of things, be sure to request the 14th floor, rumored to have paranormal activity.
In conclusion, my experience at Hotel Monteleone was fantastic. The location is ideal, just a block off Bourbon Street, and the proximity to great restaurants in the French Quarter is a plus. The comfortable bed and high-quality linens ensured a good night's sleep, outweighing any minor inconveniences. I highly recommend Hotel Monteleone to couples, solo travelers, and even families, with double rooms available for more space. Overall, it's a home run and I can't wait to return. Thanks for joining me on this New Orleans adventure, and stay tuned for more travel videos coming soon!

I’ve always wanted to stay there! It’s been a little out of budget for the length of time my stays have been. One day!

Some videos I’ve seen show stunning bathrooms but I’m actually very disappointed with the condition of this bathroom. I saw one other person’s video where the bathroom looked like this one. At first I thought it was a different hotel but it wasn’t. Perhaps there are certain rooms that weren’t updated but from the look of this one, it needs it badly! Curious how your room is listed. We’re planning on staying there on our first visit to New Orleans in a few months and I don’t want to be disappointed!

You want to stay in the Iberville Tower then. I was staying in the older tower in this video. I've staying in both (I'll do a video on the Iberville Tower at some point). The one documented in this video was older style but it actually was still clean and didn't feel bad at all. I believe they felt a tower like this because many of the rooms are historical. The nicer tower is worth it if it isn't booked. Rooms are general $70ish more a night.

@@breathingdreamsbrittany Thanks! Yes, after researching some more it seems like Iberville rooms have a different decor and were updated. This will be our first visit and we’re celebrating my retirement so I want to go with a nicer room. Any recommendations on better views and room location I should request?
