In every country, the cost of living should be balanced with what people receive as salary. New Zealand is expensive, it's true. But the income is also high compared to other countries.
I live in Wellington cost 500 a WK food rent power wifi I live off the government with subsidise rent and get 220 in hand after expensives But someone asked me to work for them and offered 25 and hour 40 hour a wk, around 1000 a wk, sound ok right but if it cost 500 and I get 315 from government that equals 815, so for a full wk if working I get 1000, so 1000 take away 815 equals 185 in hand that's less than what I get from the government and I don't have to work my ass off. So why would I work If you don't earn over $50 an hour don't expect to buy a house or have enough money for holidays or savings The funny thing is there's a labour shortage in New Zealand but New Zealand employers and business owners would rather reduce the annual profits even to the point of financial bankruptcy than stabilising their market share an overall profits by paying workers more so they stay but they don't pay them MORE so their workers leave Then they go on the news screaming there's no workers I hope all their businesses burn The fact is since the early 80s New Zealand economy has been designed to exploit the working and middle class. It just came out millionaires in New Zealand pay 9% less tax that a person on minimum wage WTF. DONT MORE HERE IF YOU ARE WORKING OR MIDDLE-CLASS YOU ARE FUCKED.
Probably agree with some of what your saying, a lot of greed with a majority employers . There mentality is work long hours on crap pay.. So the work life balance is a complete fantasy for most working and middle class people.. So burnout and depression is a big factor of here. It needs to move with the times, less hours, better pay and freedom to enjoy life outside of work. 👊
I pay rent every two weeks, you can pay it weekly at set up. Agents want 6 weeks rent in advance, 4 weeks is a Bond. I live in a building which includes utilities. I buy unlimited internet for 20$ a week.
The prices in the past year increases a little bit, renting a room is not that cheap. But it’s always cheaper than renting your own apartment. Good to save up money for sure!
Plant based milk and cereals for breakfast. Vegetables, legumes and pasta or rice for the other meals. Protein bars for snacks. But you have to keep in mind that I also have 5 meals at work, that helps a lot.
Every country and city has its costs. Coming to NZ with euros was surely better than a kiwi moving to Europe with NZ dollars. As the euro is a stronger currency. But yeah I lived in Spain and it was expensive there too!
Thanks so much for this video!! This is probably the most realistic one I’ve seen so far and although NZ is a more expensive place to live overall, it’s still possible without losing all of your money and so I appreciate this! I’m looking at moving there on a USA holiday working visa in Nov. 2023 I’m not sure for how long but given the visa is only one set price regardless if I’m here for 6 or 12months, I may as well do 12. Thanks again so much!😆
Search for job offers on platforms like Seek, Send your best CV and also a punchy Cover Letter. For working in Hotels I've seen they have some questions to follow for the interview or role play like "what would you do if something like this happens?". If there are companies you're interested in, try to send a spontaneous application.
Hi, it depends. I suggest you to check the government website to find out the type of visa that suits your needs. If you want to move to New Zealand long term, you might need to look for a sponsorship.
People living in india are comparing with new Zealand.. That's not good.. Basically wherever we live our economy depends on the rates fluctuations.. Ex :: New Zealand has high pay scale jobs and living standard is also high Along with high GDP India has less salary package thats why low cost of living with less GDP .
When moving to a different country is always important to consider all aspects. When talking about the economic side it's true, here in NZ income and wages are higher than in most countries, but the cost of life is higher as well. There is always a balance. And I believe there are also other things to keep in consideration when deciding to move to another country.

Here in India, almost every thing is so cheap, 5gb/day for 90 days only @ 599 INR, 10Rs/kg Tomato,Potato & Onion, Room rent 2000 INR monthly etc etc..

True, every country is different with his pros and cons.
