I had scored 80% in 10th CBSE. Though I was never ever interested neither in science nor in maths . My elders suggested me take up science. But I knew that I have inclination towards social science, literature, language. So I decided to take up Humanities as my stream. I had faith in myself that I would definitely excel in this stream.
Back in 2022, I gave 12th CBSE board exam and guess what , I had scored 89%.
Those who were against my decision of pursuing Humanities , were congratulating me and my parents on my success.
Currently I am pursuing Political Science(hons).

Buddy! People keep asking even an IPS officer why he didn't started a Startup or people keep asking someone with a 50cr turnover in a business, why don't you sell your business to someone else. (Real life example)

As a science student who scored 90% in 10th ( I have cleared my 12th BTW) I do not regret taking science in my 11th and 12th but it was not my best decision .... I would have gladly taken Arts and was willing to, if only it wasn't for peer pressure and society( I am more of a theory, words , history , political kind of a student than maths ,integration. I don't wanna know how a damn instrument works but in science, as we know ,I had to deal with a lot more stuff .. pheww glad the two hell of years are over now and now I have convinced my parents about opting for humanities ( they agreed 😌 Humanities is love guys , I am sure I will do much more better at civil service competitive exams etc, there are many..... than cracking JEE or NEET ... it's not my thing!! and ofcourse going through Bsc) .At the end of the day guys it's not about being intelligent , scoring well and then thinking you'll easily be able to study science and become an engineer, unless if you have interest in this subject . There is a lot of competition guys and only the one performs well ,who happily , without any pressure studies the subject by their own will , it shouldn't be forced. If you like the subject go for it but DO NOT THINK!!! Arts is vague and is not going to land you a job , if you are doing, what you like studying in general, trust me, there is success in almost all the fields , just choose the right one...

I opted science in class 11.. though I had intrest in fine Arts and subjects like history civics since I was 12 y/o.. but due to some reason I opted this stream... now I'm appearing for class 11th finals and all these times I was quite lost I'm now mentally exhausted and depressed. Subjects Physics and chemistry seems like something impossible for me to cope with... I don't know if it's too late to decide or not but doesn't matter if I'm passing or failing 11th I'm starting it from the beginning this time with humanities stream class 11th . Many of my friends n knowns came up to me saying log kya kahenge you're repeating your 11th sab failure kahenge but I made up my mind finally.

So , my math has detoriated since 8th class due to covid phle se bhi mera maths mein ni tha wesa maza wala interest ha science mein tha interest lekin 8th tak hi 9th se detoriate hi hua... To be judge, you could take any stream. Humanities not mandatory.

I want to go for Civil Services. My school doesn't offer any facility for providing Humanities Stream to students after 10th. I want to have a job security too, before writing UPSC examination. Hey Aryan! Good to hear you that you wrote with all your open heart. Civil servant has lot of stages & levels & yes people from any stream could get into it. The importance of stream here is you should be knowing everything about what you have studied, that helps you in UPSC or other competitive exams. You should select that subject in which you know you will do best irrespective of school.

Sir I just gave my tenth boards...but now I'm badly struck b/w pcm and humanities..the problem is that I love both science and humanities and score well too in both the subjects....as for my career I'm aspiring for upsc...and as said by everyone opting humanities is a good option for UPSC.
But we know no subject is mandatory for upsc...and I wanna continue with science for now...
Will it be okay if I opt pcm for now (cuz I've keen intrest in physics chemistry..) and later prepare for UPSC...
My ultimate goal is upsc...it's just that I don't wanna limit myself to one field only I would love to discover some more in science and...at the end of the day a civil servant.
And as u had mentioned there's little competition in humanities..that's the problem..I want competition and yup I wanna go along the harder way for success 🙂

firstly 11&12 is hard in both boards cause suddenly from 10 to 12 u get way more to study and much more broad syllabus....
i am not really sure about CBSE board .... But ICSE is slightly a bit tougher ..... But if u study you will be able to understand the concepts and all .....
ICSE is better for humanities because humanities us very broad and the more you know the better.... So in ICSE if u use the right text books it will be really helpful... Because ICSE has many prescribed text books unlike CBSE which has NCERT.....
Like if u use the best text books and study then u will do great ....like in ICSE u have to reference 2-3 text books and know more ....
Like for Science CBSE is better because Science doesn't change nor is it based on opinions .... Science is fixed so it will be same in every text book..
But humanities is some what different in every text book .... And the more u read the more knowledge. ...

Do NOT I repeat DO NOT take humanities after 10th I had taken humanities now after my 12th there are no Carter options for humanities except teaching and upsc so I have to go for bsc IT or bba but uk even in that field you require science or commerce background for extra knowledge and experience with the subjects I screwed up pls don't take humanities , no bad blood regarding humanities it is a wonderful stream but jobs aren't there

dude sorry you're going through this. Try showing this to your parents, take some time and try to talk to them. I was going through the same thing a few days ago. Talk to them about your interests and why you're choosing this particular stream. Your parents are probably forcing you to take up science because they think science is the best option and no other stream has scope. Tell your parents about what you're passionate about and give them reasons as to why this particular stream or subject has scope or importance. (Maybe make a ppt about the advantages of you choosing this stream like i did XD) Hope your parents understand and support you in what you want to achieve

I liked ur video sir please reply me, i have completed my 12 in arts with history, pol science, english, punjabi, computer science nd physical esuction. Now i am confused ki which course should i opt next. I am thinking of B.A but i confused ki konsa degree best hoga, which can help me in UPSC preparations.
Which syllabus is easier economic or history?for Class 11th

My parents are forcing me to take science , but i dont want to take ...
But , i will take humanities as i have interest in it...
And i have to do something big in my life , otherwise my own parents will always poke me for taking humanities...

I am going through the same and there are lot of career options but you should decide where your passion and interests inclined towards.
I mean you can achieve big if you do hard work like Civil Services, Be a Professor at a renowned uni and all, Psychology is a great career path as well
