- I did a simple melt today using shredded hard drives.
I 3D printed some standard looking bar shapes and used petrobond sand to cast them.
It was a quick melt but a fun one.
I hope you enjoy watching this one as much as I did making it! - Развлечения
Just a simple melt today. Enjoy and I hope you all are doing well!

Even the simple melts are worth watching! Would not mind more of these. Thanks for the vid, hope the AZ weather hasn't been too crazy for you! ⛈
Glad to see a new upload. Love the shape of the 3D printed Ingots. Excellent video.
Beautiful shiny melt ✨ loved the ASMR quality of the water cooling
I figured those would melt fast. I do not melt stuff but I can see that there is going to be lots of slag. Then the shiny shiny melted stuff !! They came out great !! I like it when they are mirrored. Maybe next time ? Great vid, thanks for sharing !!
Them blocks that's the shape of gold blocks I think would definitely look good with a mirror shine on them, nice video
I was hoping you would show breaking down hard drives and taking out the magnets.
It's all good, thanks for the video!
6:19 chef's kiss!
Always cool when someone gets one of those highly unlikely, wins on video
Perfect video for this peaceful weekend 👌
Always good to see you my friend!! great little melt..see ya on the next one..
"Hello Norton. I need help with some data recovery."
😂😂😂😂😂
Short but sweet! Thanks for sharing. 😍🥰😍🥰
Nice choice, easy going too. Thanks for sharing.
The ultimate solution to delete one's browser history.
Nice melt. I hadn’t seen those melted before.
They'll make some beautiful casts once resmelted now most of the slag has been removed!
Always enjoy your vids.
I love the medium you chose. So different than what we usually see. That is one reason that I love your channel. You know what? I think this was an amalgam. Pure aluminum usually shrinks more. So that's pretty cool. I wonder what the mix is? Very interesting! P.S. I hope you and your family are doing well 🙏🏻!
Love your videos! Thank you so much.
Bro on his regular data wipe routine
Nice. Very little shrinkage, must be a special alloy.
I find the disks are too pretty to melt and want to use mine for a wind chime.
Thanks i will recommend this data sanitization method to my clients! 😂❤
I'd like to see some copper bars like that as well
I’ll have to do some of those here soon 👍
Cue the music!
Not nearly as bad as soda cans as far as dross goes.
4:02 Put the stick through the top hole 🕳️ lolz
Great video! Was that made out of aluminum or is it a mix? You had less sludge than I expected.
The new TITO4RE
When you're melting these down what happens to the plastic components of these things? Like aluminum cans have a plastic lining on the inside to prevent the aluminum from leeching into the beverage.
I try to make sure I get only pieces that are plastic free to melt. The plastic liners on cans just burns off. 👍
I’ve started a nice box of aluminum cans for you. When it’s full I’ll ship it to you.

Hi there I hope the box I just sent is better for a video
You have a box coming I checked all of it non magnet believe.
The possible amount of downloaded internet porn on those hard drives is mind boggling!!!!
The whole steam explosion from molds thing is overhyped.
That's not to say that it isn't a good idea to preheat the molds, especially graphite, as a cold metal mold can cause uneven cooling and imperfections in the bar while a cold graphite mold could crack, but unless you're keeping the molds somewhere that there's a humidity problem or leaving them outside in the elements, you really shouldn't have any honest risk of a steam explosion.
The reality is that you're more likely to get a steam explosion from moisture in your casting sand.
It is a little bit, but I always say that to encourage people who might try it to burn any moisture off in case they don’t know. I’ve poured many times without preheating and have been fine, but it’s that one time you don’t that might have something go sideways.
Great comment!
@@TheGrowingStack Fair enough.
Better than shredded hdds any day!
9:24 Ho-ly! The top shelf is bowing pretty good!
