first things first, check that stator, check the voltage make sure its not overheating those stators go bad prematurely and it sucks to replace them but if you have to make sure you do that first lol
@@mustbetrue1602 took my 84 down to the frame new exciting including tank not realizing it was the stator out it all back together And wouldn’t even go slam the street sold it and I regret it everyday
Stay away from the ‘84 model year . In ‘85 they changed the location of the pulse generators. On the ‘84 model year you have to remove the engine to replace them. On the ‘85 they are conveniently located behind the timing belt cover for easy replacement. When the bike shuts off when warm they need replaced
