    Is there a fade technique where you can fade from top to bottom...starting from big to small? Like a number 2 down to the bald line? Ive noticed I get a better blend when I go from top to bottom versus starting from bottom to top.
    I still debulk, do my bald line, clipper open, then #1 open and #2 to get my guid lines..I just then start from the top then work my way down.

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  Год назад

  • @Mike-hy8cs
    @Mike-hy8cs Год назад +3

    Personally not a fan of this technique. Most haircuts you could use this and
    it would work. However some haircuts require you to spread the blend out more or less than this. I have clients that get a high taper or mid high fades and they naturally have much smaller room to work with and if i did the 3 finger technique they wouldnt have a fade they would be bald. Also people have different finger widths

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  Год назад +2

      It’s just to give a general idea. Isn’t meant to always work. Beginners have absolutely no idea how big to make guidelines or where to start the bald line so this at least gives them an idea

    • @Mike-hy8cs
      @Mike-hy8cs Год назад +1

      @Seancutshair Agreed i just think we need to be careful when teaching people because some people will learn this technique and apply it to every haircut they do and they could land themselves into some trouble

    Just be straight up, if you do a guideline with a #2 open, you then close it all the way and fade the bottom of it and slowly go up opening it up. That's pretty much it you need to make a perfect fade.

    Hi there! New barber here 😭
    For fades do you start with the 1/2 and go up 1 and 2 open? Is it always going to be 0-2?

    Thank you so much! I been kinda struggling with this and getting lost in the sauce. Definitely helped and cut my time down ❤🙏🏼

    Hey Sean, first of all. Thank you for all your videos! SO helpful. I’m about to finish at Barber School. And still not comfortable with the basics unfortunately. But when you put in the open Clipper guideline, do you flick up? Or are all your guidelines hard?

    Does this technic only works for fades or does it work for tapers too?

      It works for any cut, just the shape or location of the fade changes
