Yeah but you don’t get a lot of context that way. The rules back then were different, players talked wayyyyy more trash, generally being more competitive. Lebron I think would not shine as hard as he did if he were to play with mj. Other pros were SCARED to talk shit to him, cuz he’d get mad and score 40-50 points at will. Who does that? Goat does.
Steve Smith once said he's the best in the league at stopping MJ. So when MJ played against him and hit his first basket, he told Smith "48". Smith was puzzled "wah...?" MJ hit another basket. He told the swingman "46". So the game passed he counted backward, all the way down to zero, ending the game with a total of 48 points. That's the best trash talking story.
@@jordaniumjordanicus the point being MJ has the balls to do that level of trash talk, and the skills to get to 48 points… you can get stuck on 2 points if you want I guess
This story isn't true at all. First of Steve Smith never said he was the Jordan stopper. Secondly the story is right on RUclips and he counted backwards from 40

Yes, when they first became great, I was a teenager. The highlight of my day was getting home watching the finals with my brother. Once I heard that NBA theme music, it was like the whole world stopped.
MJ was the one and only reason I ever watched NBA games. I never cared much about the game, still don’t, but MJ himself was a sight to behold, a force to be reckoned with who, as these stories tell you, could elevate his game in the blink of an eye. People are going to debate, but MJ is far and away all time #1. I had the fortune of seeing Kobe play in HS as we grew up close to one another. As far as his NBA career, he’s #2. As far as LeBron, he may be #3, but Wilt Chamberlain might have something to say about that. Never saw him play, but the stories about him definitely put him in the top 5 all time if not ahead of LeBron at #3. Not hating on LeBron...clearly he is a great player, but the one thing those other 3 have on him is that they did it alone. They didn’t clamor for other players or hop around looking for championships. They did it. MJ and Kobe both did have an excellent supporting cast who did their jobs when called upon, but neither of them whined when shit didn’t go their way. They elevated their game to rise to the occasion.
i think its great entertainment, like what else are we going to talk about.? mj is the goat? no lebron is the goat, then we start again, then we argue. they know what they are doing. imagine if all ple were catholics or hindus or republicans or whatever. life would be dull.
Kobe is the only one that compares, even with the trash talking stories. They are very similar. Players didn’t want to trash talk Kobe because he played better like that. Same as Jordan. The way I see it is: Jordan is 1A and Kobe is 1B as the greatest of all time. Lebron is up there, but the same reason why Jordan was considered better than Magic, is the same reason why Kobe is greater than Lebron. Just a different beast.
we are still talking about retired players and then some idiot is telling us the goat is still playing. you would think a real goat would dominate the nba if he really was the goat.
Imagine if all the players who trash talked Mike never trashed him. Mike would have never found the motivation to destroy teams 😂 knowing Mike, he would have taken it personally if the players didn't trash talk him.

Yall just can't accept that MJ can trash talk and back it up plus Him being the Goat, he can definitely prove it why He's the Goat. Unlike some player out there who loves to pick all stars and blames teammates but still loses.

dikembe said he took 7 years to dunk on him, that is really long, you know? by the way i just saw phil jackson laughing after that dunk on mutombo, as if he knew sth about it. i look at miller iverson and kobe, even magic. they were obsessed with copying, challenging or defeating him. Jordan lifted many men to play and watch nba by setting impossible standards. rip kobe
i believe magic has said he was the king, so when Jordan came and said he was the new king magic would disagree but at one point he was like. yup, my throne is gone. that was the context of their competition. am the king, no, you are not. your reign is over. something along those lines.
yes, yes, i have nuanced my argument by saying, copying, challenging or defeating Jordan. magic was already finishing his career. it was more of a succession struggle between two greats, if u see what i mean. like i said magic said he will not concede the throne, Jordan said, no i am now the king. for younger players like iverson, garnett , miller and kobe it was , am the new kid on the block
I was at the Omni the night Jordan put up 61 against the hawks. I’ve never seen a man make excellence look so effortless. The Hawks won the game but no one was even talking about that.
teachmehowtodoge how do you know he moved to a team because of trash talk? Wouldn’t the trash talk just intensify because of the ridicule he gets from “ not being loyal.” Also, it took 4 “ trash talkers” to try and beat him when he was only 23, he won tho. There are levels, just because lebron is more reserved, just like Lenord and dame, that doesn’t make them less of a player just because they have less things to quote.
“When you're good at something, you'll tell everyone. When you're great at something, they'll tell you.” ― Walter Payton When you're in the list of GOAT, they will talk about you for decades, and all other players will all be compared to you.
Kobe could run his mouth too, that last clip shows how much he admired him but also how much he was willing to take the torch from him. Alpha vs Alpha only that time the big, older dog won.
@Kevin Prima 😅😂 can't blame the guy for trying. I think LeBron is making a strong point for that solid 2nd place. I'm happy I got to see prime Jordan play and now I get to see prime LeBron too.
it reminds of "the last dance" when gary petyon said hes the only one who can "Stop" jordan and michael saw the clip and just laughed and said "ok...ok"
Besides following most of MJ's career and the Bulls games during the late 80s -1998 and of course his Wizard days. I have one very very special memory I will never forget . Top 4 Live games I have witness when I was a teenager and in my early/mid 20s that I like to share my story with all of you. I grew up in Vancouver, BC CANADA Kobe & Shaq - LA in Seattle (drove there with few friends) Lebron, Wade & Bosh - Miami BIG 3 in Washington (stayed in Washington DC with my cousins for half a year and went to the game myself and purchased a ticket at the booth $95 USD) JORDAN & PIPPEN - Chicago in Vancouver (1995 & 1997) 1997-98 season second time I sat lower section about 18-20 rows behind the hoop. My friend's brother sold me his ticket for double the price that it was worth back at that time. I bought it without thinking. Went alone. Wore the entire red Bulls warm up track suit and brought my ball. Good game. 1995-96 season FIRST TIME in my life witnessing JORDAN, PIPPEN, RODMAN and DA BULLS. Went to stadium really early. Had nose bleed ticket but met up with my high-school coach before the game and he had season tickets to NBA & NHL games. He was more of a hockey fan. He took off his season pass tag and placed it over my head and neck. Then said, "I know how much this means to you and it might even be once in a lifetime opportunity for you to see your loved idol." I wanted to breakdown and still can't thank him enough for doing that. I am 41 years old now and my coach and I still keep in touch. His ticket was about SIX ROWS BEHIND THE HOOP. As the Bulls came jogging out of the tunnel I stood up like many did and I felt this crazy energy, heat and I was shaking. Had goose bumps. I just can't explain the once in a lifetime feeling. Saw Jordan coming out from the tunnel. I never sat down during their warm up. Saw his doing his routine, four bounce, spin the ball foul shots, grip the ball one hand layups and of course his fadeaways!! Long story short a Grizzle player said some crap to Jordan and MJ turned it up and made 19pts in last few minutes of the game with an up and under layup, jumper, fadeaway, 2 steals led to 2 dunks etc. Bulls won. What a game!! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! Thanks Coach!! side note: The GOAT MJ brought Nike back to life (basketball sneaker sales) from the shadow or Converse and Adidas (DJ & Magic era). When Nike became Nike Air/Flight then became AIR JORDAN then sky was the limit.
As a sports fan I can say that I have my bucket list practically full. I saw Federer, Airton Senna, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Pelé, Mike Tyson and Gretzky play.
The reason why some young people dont respect MJ as THE GOAT is because they didn't know or understand how GREAT the players he was doing all of these highlights against (night in & night out)were. He made them all look like they were playin- JV while he was playin' VARSITY - he destroyed over 40 HOF during his career - facts
The thing that made him the GOAT is just the fact of him not having a ceiling. I mean honestly he was great just going through the motions. It's like LeBron and Kobe are all time great. But you see thier best. MJ has his best and you wait to see how he tops it.
Oh shit that Garnet, telling that he was sorry to all his team mates. Such a vivid description about Mj. Gots to love these things can happen only in sports.

They didn’t clamor for other players or hop around looking for championships. They did it. MJ and Kobe both did have an excellent supporting cast who did their jobs when called upon, but neither of them whined when shit didn’t go their way. They elevated their game to rise to the occasion.
Please stop comparing other players to him #ItsDifferent
Daniel Burton there’s different levels to this! MJ > everyone else
yeah, let's all just let It go once and for all
i think its great entertainment, like what else are we going to talk about.? mj is the goat? no lebron is the goat, then we start again, then we argue. they know what they are doing. imagine if all ple were catholics or hindus or republicans or whatever. life would be dull.
Two things are for certain: Jordan is the GOAT, and every crowd on Jimmy Kimmel is depressing af
But MJ isn’t the 🐐, he’s 3rd
@@mormanfreegan545 who the goat then?
@@mormanfreegan545 He is #1
@@mormanfreegan545 dumb as fuck

1.his airness
2.black jesus
3.MJ
Imagine if all the players who trash talked Mike never trashed him. Mike would have never found the motivation to destroy teams 😂 knowing Mike, he would have taken it personally if the players didn't trash talk him.
He'd find something...
"They didn't feel like I was worth talking trash to. And I was offended by that.. That's all I needed."
He literally made up scenarios to motivate himself, the man was a beast
If they don't give it to him with the trash talking, he would find a way to get one to motivate himself .
"He never dunk on you...he never put you in the highlight..." Later that season...😂😂
I love the stories they need to make this a movie 🎥
When MJ talks trash, prepare yourself to be outscored and humiliated.
Strong Asian great point my friend i agree. Please checkout my youtube channel BUCKEYE VINNIE i did a segment on MJ please watch and subscribe to my channel thanks.
Michael Jordan fans are the worst NBA fans then grew up in New York a Knicks fan hating the man , he’s just the best and those of us who have seen it know it
Yall just can't accept that MJ can trash talk and back it up plus Him being the Goat, he can definitely prove it why He's the Goat. Unlike some player out there who loves to pick all stars and blames teammates but still loses.
Facts 😆
@@bondzo7184 you are so correct when you say that he is just the best, checkout my youtube channel BUCKEYE VINNIE i did a segment video of MICHAEL JORDAN, please watch and subscribe thanks.
When you see Kobe and Jordan talking, just gives me the chills! Its like a mirror image of them two!
@Kevin Prima hahahaha, kobe is living rent free in this guys head 🤣🤣🤣
"Damn young fella. Y'all done??" LMAO!!!
Garnett and JR kill it.... best delivery of that story mashed up... loved it
KG and Isiah Rider MJ story is priceless. 😂
Rider: Mike, he's just a rookie. He doesn't know the rules.
MJ: Ok, fine.
dikembe said he took 7 years to dunk on him, that is really long, you know? by the way i just saw phil jackson laughing after that dunk on mutombo, as if he knew sth about it. i look at miller iverson and kobe, even magic. they were obsessed with copying, challenging or defeating him. Jordan lifted many men to play and watch nba by setting impossible standards. rip kobe
samuel muiruri not magic. Magic was before Jordan & won rings. They’re competitors tho. So of course he wanted to beat his competition.
i believe magic has said he was the king, so when Jordan came and said he was the new king magic would disagree but at one point he was like. yup, my throne is gone. that was the context of their competition. am the king, no, you are not. your reign is over. something along those lines.
samuel muiruri yeah but magic didn’t want to be like him, he was just respecting greatness
yes, yes, i have nuanced my argument by saying, copying, challenging or defeating Jordan. magic was already finishing his career. it was more of a succession struggle between two greats, if u see what i mean. like i said magic said he will not concede the throne, Jordan said, no i am now the king. for younger players like iverson, garnett , miller and kobe it was , am the new kid on the block
samuel muiruri my bad I didn’t really get you point, thanks for clarifying tho
“Black Jesus” - Reggie
The only video ive ever found where mj said hes the greatest player in the world ...
GOAT🐐🐐
He said the greatest in the world, not of all time. He would never say that.
KG is an amazing storyteller.
Jordan best ever.....Kobe is the only player ever that could do the same thing.
have watched these videos a thousand times and can still smile :) great old days, when playing was erned, hard and no buddy-ball
I was at the Omni the night Jordan put up 61 against the hawks. I’ve never seen a man make excellence look so effortless. The Hawks won the game but no one was even talking about that.
I like how he says, "here's something you can print". Would love to hear the uncensored versions of his story.
I am gonna watch every videos like this of Micheal Jordan, to make my day. He is such a positive person. Confident, self respect, and encouragement.
remember when somebody trash talked Lebron and went 60? yup me too I can't remember.
GERBAX channel nah he just had one of the most efficient playoff games against a trash talking Celtics, I’m pretty sure he had 45
If you trash talked LeSwept, he'd cry for 60 hours. 😭😭😭🤣😂
If you thrash talked LeBlowJob... He will meltdown....
@teachmehowtodoge LeBlowJob dont even want to take the clutch shot againts GSW finals..
teachmehowtodoge how do you know he moved to a team because of trash talk? Wouldn’t the trash talk just intensify because of the ridicule he gets from “ not being loyal.” Also, it took 4 “ trash talkers” to try and beat him when he was only 23, he won tho. There are levels, just because lebron is more reserved, just like Lenord and dame, that doesn’t make them less of a player just because they have less things to quote.
Truly the greatest of them all 👏👏👏
“When you're good at something, you'll tell everyone. When you're great at something, they'll tell you.”
― Walter Payton
When you're in the list of GOAT, they will talk about you for decades, and all other players will all be compared to you.
That's LeBron's biggest problem.
There is no list homie, just one, MJ
That Kobe MJ convo, is already immortalized. RIP Kobe.
The KG story never gets old
Kobe could run his mouth too, that last clip shows how much he admired him but also how much he was willing to take the torch from him. Alpha vs Alpha only that time the big, older dog won.
@Inigo Bantok
And who do you think took that torch? Lehelp? 😂😂😂 You fvcking kidding.
@Kevin Prima 😅😂 can't blame the guy for trying. I think LeBron is making a strong point for that solid 2nd place. I'm happy I got to see prime Jordan play and now I get to see prime LeBron too.
@Kevin Prima with that 3-6 nah 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for putting Kobe in here. 🙏❤️👍
that last clip : ,(
Cant argue that respect man...
THATS WHY HE IS THE GOAT. NO ONE CAN DO LIKE MJ.
You notice he said you haven’t got me YET....he knew it was coming unconsciously
MJ: That went from #2 on my priority list to #1. That's how personal it was to me.
Subconsciously**
@@jasondyrkacz8270 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ONCE AGAIN.. you have delivered an AMAZING EXPERIENCE to watch .. and as I always say.. I MISS 90s basketball 🏀.. especially my Sonics 😭😭😭😭😭
5:47 "i don't consider that trash. i consider that fact." that laugh he gives at the end is everything lol
it reminds of "the last dance" when gary petyon said hes the only one who can "Stop" jordan and michael saw the clip and just laughed and said "ok...ok"
Man I wish these kids today could have watched him in his prime! It was something special!!!
Besides following most of MJ's career and the Bulls games during the late 80s -1998 and of course his Wizard days. I have one very very special memory I will never forget .
Top 4 Live games I have witness when I was a teenager and in my early/mid 20s that I like to share my story with all of you. I grew up in Vancouver, BC CANADA
Kobe & Shaq - LA in Seattle (drove there with few friends)
Lebron, Wade & Bosh - Miami BIG 3 in Washington (stayed in Washington DC with my cousins for half a year and went to the game myself and purchased a ticket at the booth $95 USD)
JORDAN & PIPPEN - Chicago in Vancouver (1995 & 1997)
1997-98 season
second time I sat lower section about 18-20 rows behind the hoop.
THE BLACK CAT & THE BLACK MAMBA TOGETHER (TIMELESS MASTERPIECE)!!
MJ took over the league. Feared and Respected worldwide. STATS CANT IMITATE true killer instinct, talent, and drive to win! #MJismyGOAT
Kobe like one of the only people you never hear talk about being intimidated about trash-talking Michael
Kobe also asked Jordan for help with moves. Jordan said the only player could beat him was kobe because he steals all my moves.
Chevis Reed
He didn’t play against him much. But they had real respect for each other. It was different with them.
@Kevin Prima you dumb as all fuck
Kevin Prima
Nobody was even speaking about LeBron.
You LeBron fanboys are weird.
Chevis Reed Kobe was Mike’s clone!!!
Jordan schooled everybody from rookies to vets 😂😂
I love MJ so much he is part of my life. He don't know me but I know him like he is my twin brother......hahahahhahahaha
MJ always Wil be the 🐐
As a sports fan I can say that I have my bucket list practically full. I saw Federer, Airton Senna, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Pelé, Mike Tyson and Gretzky play.
hope you've seen Messi
Very good video, I didnt want it to end. MJ is the real deal!
6:58 says it all, guy tells him you never did and never will dunk on me and jordan dunks on him and waves finger. Goat
4:20
"He make a shot and you say ... Good shot Mike" :-D
God
I love these stories
The thing that made him the GOAT is just the fact of him not having a ceiling. I mean honestly he was great just going through the motions. It's like LeBron and Kobe are all time great. But you see thier best. MJ has his best and you wait to see how he tops it.
Oh shit that Garnet, telling that he was sorry to all his team mates. Such a vivid description about Mj. Gots to love these things can happen only in sports.
I've watched this video so many times, and it never gets old.
KG is a treasure. Pure gold! 🤣🤣
Ewing got me dying he never dunked on u, he never put a highlight on u lol 😂😂
Was a funny video till the last 30 seconds... and my heart got heavy. Still miss that dude. Amazing human being. Miss you Mamba
That KG story, every time i listened to it, it's nothing but gold!!
I appreciate whoever edited this actually put the footage of how Michael Jordan was cooking them while they tell the story🤣😂
“Ahhh ahh 50”😭😭😭😭😭
