It's not that he is or isn't a horse whisperer he shouldn't have even had another horse in there to begin with, and he took the horse right next to the other hind legs, and it's obvious that the other horse should be in a separate pen. My dude what in the hell is this? From the start that horse is showing he's not wanting to be ridden: stepping away from the mounting block, being repositioned and again not wanting to allow a rider. It's no wonder this happened, especially with everything going on in there. Work on groundwork and asking your horse to side up to the mounting block and stand for you properly, it's basic shit!
Edit: and maybe find a spot without other horses to wreck your progress. Unless it's a well acquainted herd and a spacious area, that's just a recipie for disaster.

    • @sketchalater4656
      @sketchalater4656 Год назад +10

Exactly! It was already falling apart at the very beginning. So many people in the horse world like to skip steps and cut corners. All they wanna do is get on the horse, and then they and the horse suffer the consequences. Getting a horse to side up to the mounting block is actually quite easy, but it does take time and effort, which soooo many owners lack.

    • @devilssemblance5938

@Twix is God and so are Macerators I mean, if you want to ignore the entire first half of the video where the horse is showing discomfort signs and refusing to allow a rider, that's up to you, but some people notice detail. Consider looking closer. Directing a horse to walk so close behind the back of another horse is also not a great choice. there are lots of reasons shit like this happens, and all of them are human error in this video. The horse kick is what ended the ride, but not what started the trouble.

Over and over again, if you have to, until it gets used to the stool and comes willingly. Then step up and start laying over your horse to get it used to the action of someone attempting to mount him.

Take only the risks you feel comfortable taking, but consider that my dog for example is more than capable of giving me stitches, but even though he has bit me, he's only ever broken the skin one time (as a puppy) so in reality you are likely so survive a few kick and kick attempts from horses.

Okay, so, the horse felt pressured by the other horse and didn’t want the other horse invading its space, so it sends out a warning for the horse to back off, which it does seeing as the horse that kicked out is high horse while the one that moved away is low horse. And they… are dumb as rocks for being… horses?? Okay?? 😭

  • @AA_Equestrian

It was the man’s own fault 😂
He was the one who got the horse to walk right behind another horse who was pinning his ears and clearly didn’t like the situation.
Plus the one who kicked was a mare and the other one, who was ridden, was a stallion or gelding. That didn’t help the situation.

Horses are super hierarchical, if you aren't on the leader of the pack, dont let the horse you are riding anywhere near the other horses rear legs.

People who are experienced with horses weirdly often do that kind of mistake which can be VERY annoying for the one who rides. Letting to horses that don't get along well close to each other with an object of conflict (food, water, space, mare) in sight.
    I don't know why.

The horse that kicked knew they were there and wasn't surprised about them walking behind. What made him kick and be defensive was the bite the riding horse took to his croup.

While training with my sister her horse walked up to mine to kick it, luckily everyone were okay, but it was completely our fault - I struggled to get my house to move, he's very stubborn, usually I can control him, but that day I di very bad. My sister was nearby with her horse, he's a bit harder to handle, so he turned around to kick my horse. My sister couldn't get him to walk away in time. It was a good learning experience, getting of taste of if you don't keep boundaries with large animals, the horse you're riding could get very hurt.

This is why you always stay one horse length away from another horse. Also the horse he's riding looks either too young to be ridden by him or just too small. Please remember to ride horses that are big enough to handle your weight. (Yes I understand some small horses or ponies may need to be ridden by slightly too large people to make them kid safe)

Yes there is the 2nd problem of leading to the back of another horse but the first main problem is that we clearly see that the horse was trying to not be mounted and moved away a lot of time. The real problem is that the person mounted him even after seeing that.

Personally, I wouldn’t go that close with another horse next to another horses bottom, because chances are that they would kick out which is what happened there, so I’d recommend either doing it outside of the paddock, or putting the horse into a different paddock❤
