- Now playing in limited release and available OnDemand is director Kyle Newman’s (Fanboys) Barely Lethal. The film stars Hailee Steinfeld as a teenage assassin who’s a master of lethal techniques, but doesn’t quite want to live the life of a killer. She decides to fake her death and try being a normal high school student, but she can’t escape her training or old foes. The movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Alba, Sophie Turner, Thomas Mann, Gabriel Basso, and Dove Cameron. For more on the film, watch the trailer.
Last week at the Los Angeles press day I landed an exclusive video interview with Sophie Turner and Hailee Steinfeld. During the wide ranging conversation they talked about making Barely Lethal, favorite high school films, can’t miss TV shows, childhood crushes, the success of Pitch Perfect 2 (and the possibility of a third movie), Turner’s experiences making X-Men: Apocalypse, and a lot more.

Barely Lethal felt like they were trying to make a Matthew Vaughn movie but took away the edge and everything else that makes Matthew Vaughn's movies so amazing. The script was really bad and the editing was dreadful. Parts of it felt like the movie was screaming "Look at me! I'm so down wit da kids! I can use slang and stuff!" However, it was always watchable thanks to the gorgeous, sexy Sophie Turner. I normally never watch direct-to-video movies, but checked Barely Lethal out for Sophie. It's always good to see Samuel L. Jackson, too.

It's such a shame to see such a beautiful, talented actress as Sophie Turner get dragged into straight-to-video garbage like Barely Lethal (same with Samuel L. Jackson). She really deserves so much better than this. I'm such a massive fan of hers and it's a shame to see Sophie take such dreadful career decisions. Hailee Steinfeld used to be really good, in True Grit and Ender's Game, but she's lost her acting ability.
How can u compare these two. Hailey is oscar nominated actress while sophie has been pretty much mediocre in every project outside of got. And even there it s not like she is one of the talented cast members.

Speaking as an actor. There are definitely times when you do sh*t just for fun or just to do it with your friends. Adam Sandler is notorious for this. This won’t diminish either actress or Samuel because industry recognizes filler projects when they see them.

Whst's wrong with watching some trashy reality TV? It's fun, and entertaining, like it's supposed to be. They are two teen girls that probably don't care about what they watch. I doubt they are trying to learn anything from them, or even have time to watch a bunch of it.
I suppose you'd rather they watch pure documentaries?
I can't fault them for watching something meant to be an escape, all humans need to let their mind take a break. Their vice is trashy television, they could enjoy worse things.
