- Back from 1996 "Illegal Life" from the classic "War Report" album by Capone-N-Noreaga came out produced by Havoc & Tragedy Khadafi.
This 12" single came together with the "Stick You" record.
Noreaga: "I believe me and Trag was hanging out somewhere and we heard this record. It was an Arabic song. I think we were getting some heroes and the Arabic dude in the store was playing the record and dancing. And we was like, 'Tell us where we could get that.' I think Trag actually found the record, I don’t remember how, but he did and we brought it to Havoc and the rest is history.
"It plays the exact same way on 'Illegal Life' as it played, but we just added Havoc’s drums. But the people who actually made the record probably don’t know that we sampled it. They probably could indicate that there is some sounds on there but the way Havoc touched on it, he took that sample and made it his own. But back then we didn’t even knew how to clear a sample, especially one like that. Back then I didn’t know what an A-side or what a B-side was. All I knew was that I wanted to rhyme. That’s all I wanted to do."
It sounds more like Hindi Bollywood to me, Nore might have just not known the difference at the time. The vocals are very Bollywood, and those strained strings as well. Vocal sounds a bit like “Shiva” but it could just be the start of a longer word that gets cut off. I don’t think it’s pitched up or down much (except where its pitched up in the loop) I don’t think it’s reversed as it sounds more reversed when played backwards.
@@FigmentHF it’s definitely a Bollywood sample
@@grinchoi1 ruclips.net/video/NRvtM0vj9OU/видео.htmlsi=O8Fj9zXYjGZDcXBo I found it

Every time I hear this beat, it makes me go crazy. Its one of the best beats ever
havoc is GOAT
No doubt son
Havoc have one of the top flows of the 90's and he is a genius on the beats
Hav definitely transposed this sample and played it at 16 levels. Good luck finding out whatever that small portion of the song he sampled was. This guy was just sampling whatever during the 90s and making it sound magical.
Yup you are absolutely right First two chops are as it is, 3rd one is at -4semitones 4th is at -2 semitones
@@Ashutosh_Mahajan it's RZA who ve done this first... But it's clear Havoc is a genius!!!
Someone found the sample just yesterday m.ruclips.net/video/HTPB7BKte5M/видео.html go to 1:07
@@someordinaryplayer209 you’re an absolute legend for this.
Alka Yanik and Mohamed Aziz original song...And don't forget Tragedy Khadafy for the work with Havoc

Haha. I always thought I was give up
One guy must've lost his cowboy hat around the month of June☝🏿🧔🏿.
rgw1380rw hahaha love it
You sir are alright with me.
What is that supposed to mean?
@@deezy81 At the time I posted that comment, this song had one dislike. What I was saying is the person who disliked the song couldn't handle this type of lifestyle CNN was talking about, plus actually living. In other words, the dislike came from someone who got regulated/son'd/exposed in the streets. In some cases, certain rather reckless thugs from the 90's were referred to as wild cowboys because their lifestyle often came with shooting it out with other thugs on the streets of NYC.
@@rgw1380rw Oh okay.
those boom bap slappin me left and right. i am 30 now, and i first time heard that song when i was 10. this beat will never forgotten
Absolutely Awesome and Magnificent
Top ten havoc beat, no question!!

How the heck did you find this?
@@WorldwideJamal Was just searching for records to sample, then fell across this one!
@@RzRProd Did you know immediately? And was it off vinyl?
@@WorldwideJamal I knew the movie (Khuda Gawah), it was in my grandads collection, listened to the ost on yt in random order, and this bit from the specific sample, stood out to me as something familiar, so I played with it,and found the sample eventually!
@@RzRProd That’s wild. Thanks bro.
i used to have this with 'stick you' on the other side. Being a messenger in 1996.
One greatest tracks ever! 1997!!!

@@BigSmoke1 crazy shit
You either make it or you take it
I think this sample is sat on RUclips or Spotify someplace. And the reason it’s not been found, it’s because a hip hop head who likes CNN simply hasn’t played the obscure Bollywood song.
i’ll sample
Сэмпл тот же что и в треке Mobb Deep - Still shining

I am 90 percent sure that is lata mangeshkar's voice
what song from her?
@@breakfreak9238 that’s the eternal question.
It sounds like her. But there are also like 50 other popular Bollywood playback artists with similar voices, especially to the untrained ear.
@@FigmentHF I found the sample and its not Lata Mangeshkar
@@Ashutosh_Mahajan can you link it?
Whiplash beat
Theres no sample. Havoc invented the sound
No way. Its a SAMPLE you can hear it for sure where it's been chopped... probably some indian song played at 2 different speeds
MoScO Kidd Indian??? „Give up ...give up“ is not Indian -smh
@@ParentalAdvisory1x1 that's just what the vocal sounds like TO YOU tho... and by saying that your previous comment makes no sense..? if that's what you think it's saying you obviously get that it's a chopped vocal, how would Hav create that? It sounds like a middle eastern/maybe 60s movie soundtrack song sample to me...Either way it's a sample
MoScO Kidd it’s NOT a sample. Those are just chopped vocals
Give Up ! 😂
