Robby matched up to Miguel in the school fight and they are both equal, since they know MIYAGI do and cobra Kai karate good, so that makes sense why Robby is the better fighter than Hawk. I guess Hawk won the tournament because of luck and because he’s good at landing punches. Robby is better with defense but since he’s in cobra kai, so he was using offense.

Robby, while not being the best teen fighter (solely because the show was made for Miguel to be the protagonist), he is definitely the most complete and has the best style of fighting
its because tanner has martial arts background,he was trained by his mother a black belt,also he has background in taekwondo and muay thai also he has a brown belt on karate added with his gymnastics trainning, in RL he's the best martial artist of the young cast after owen morgan(bert) who's a black belt in karate
