- This welcome addition to the SE lineup is the sound of pure vintage rock - it's that simple. Think of the classic double-cutaway with a thin, all-mahogany body and rosewood fingerboard. Add the punch and sparkle of PRS 85/15-S pickups - with coil-splitting, then throw in the PRS adjustable stop tail bridge (the same one used their American core models)...you see where I'm going with this. The Mira is PRS's modern take on that 60s/70s classic rock guitar with even more tonal capability and NO NECK DIVE. Check it out.

I have watched this about 20 times the tone is amazing
Yes...this guy really knows how to demo a guitar.
Damn this might be one of the best sounding PRSs …why it is so right underrated custom and the standard is beyond me !
The US-made S2 Mira is one of my favourites. I stand to be corrected, but I think the Mira being reviewed here is made in Asia. It still looks and sounds great and for the price, is arguably unbeatable.
Only one caveat to take into account, though; the S2 in this video is being played through a Mesa Boogie amp - you could play a broom through a Mesa Boogie and it would sound good.
Agreed, I just replaced the pups w some dimarzios because the stock ones just weren’t my thing
i'm coming to this vid two yrs late, but still very helpful; thanks for posting this
Great demo. Really like this guitar. Thanks
Just ordered mine! Can hardly wait to grab it! Great video!!
Just picked up a mira SE in cherry red. Arrivaed with a faulty selector switch with a quality control tag on it lol great quality control for a 900$ guitar. Waiting to hear back from PRS but likely just going to replace all the pots, wire and switch. Cheapest of the cheapest components once i took it apart and inspected it.
I own this guitar & it's my favorite one (I also have an American Fender Tele & Schecter Nick Johnston Traditional, which are both significantly more expensive than this one).
It's so lightweight making it super comfy to play. The neck size is just right, not too wide or too narrow. I love it. You can get a 2nd hand in mint condition for 500euros.
Besides, the intonation tuning & string height adjustment are really easy on this guitar.
Thinking about grabing this for my next Doom axe! Awesome video!
I have one and love it. Sounds great.
I wish they'd start making the big boy version of these again, I have one from 2008 and these SE's just don't feel the same!
Literally just ordered mine. I’m usually a Dean player but have always wanted to ad a PRS to my collection!! Can’t wait for it to arrive!!
Finally, a guitar that actually does sound like an LP.
Like a mix of sg and lp, playing her for 2 years. You can get really creamy neck pu sounds out of it but also that bridge pu bite, still a lot warmer, fuller sounding than the sg
Great review! Thank you.
My first PRS which I still own is a 2015 S2 Mira. Got a sweet deal on it as a new old stock from a dealer and paid around $900 for it. Hands down the best most comfortable neck I had ever played. I have since swapped the pickups for a set of Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Specials which made the guitar really come to life. I wasn’t a fan of the Asian 85/15’s. I also had to swap the volume pot due to the original failing. I’ve since purchased a CE24 Semi Hollow which is a killer guitar. I’ve owned Fenders, Gibsons, Gretsch and Epiphones and they all are great but there is a significant playability difference when it comes to PRS.
Those pickups sounded so bad in my 2021 594 MaCarthy & I yanked them out within a week. The top end was terribly brittle. Replaced them with Burstbucker 2 and 3. Way better now.
7:27 That's what she said
I don't know why but I like the Mira and Santana the best out of the SE lineup . They don't sound like the custom 24 or the 245
What amplifier are you using with this guitar?
Mesa/Boogie Fillmore 50 head (at the 25W setting) through a Friedman 4 X12 cab.
Could you demo the Prs starla next?
Any good with metal tones or just a classic rock machine ?
classic hard rock and blues. sounds great!
Can i add a Bigsby to this specific guitar???
Why ruin it ?
@@Roberto-nm8sw if it's what they want to do to their own guitar, it isn't ruining it
wow, I want one of these! Wonder if someone would be willing to trade for my Fender Jaguar 😉
Has anyone tried 12's on one of these?
Why❓❓❓❓❓❓
If only PRS would make it with P-90s
Just pop them in
@@jamied4486 some people don't like to mess with their guitars and prefer to keep them factory specific
@@milotin2755 well if you want different pick ups why would you not get different pick ups. Are u gonna spend 1000$ on a guitar you aren’t completely happy with?
@@jamied4486 he doesn't want to spend money on the guitar, but if it had P90's he mite, yes you can just drop a set of P90's in but they would have to be humbucker sized P90's a set of good P90 pickups another few hundred so maybe he doesn't want to spend the extra I don't understand what's so confusing for you
@@milotin2755 nothing was confusing douche fuck.
What is diff mira and standart 24?
Good question, I just bought one of these. The differences seem to be the neck material (maple in the Standard and mahogany in the Mira), the Mira has a graphite compound nut versus synthetic(plastic?) in the Standard, and the different bridges.
@@jamied4486 thanks.my question is are they diff in voice because they have same pickups
@@alexgochman6654 id say slightly different, i love the sound of the Mira over a custom 24 but it might just be a subtle difference. Id have to hear a comparison side by side
You won't find brass in a bridge on anywhere near this price point on anything else. Brass really adds to the tone just watch any fu tone comparison it really adds to the sustain and clarity
Shorter upper horn and better forearm contour
tune that sucker
Don’t like the dirty sound coming from this guitar. Too much fuzz in the sound.
