Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now am found Was blind but now I see Was Grace that taught my heart to fear And Grace, my fears relieved How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed Through many dangers, toils and snares We have already come T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far And Grace will lead us home And Grace will lead us home Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now am found Was blind but now I see Was blind, but now I see
Probably my favorite gospel tune, and one that most lends itself to a jazz interpretation. I notice you use some chord changes you won't find in the average hymnal ;-) Great performance, great interpretation, great imporvisation! All I can say is "Bravissimo!'
How do I get the sheet music for your Jazz rendition of Amazing Grace? It would make a lovely addition to my public introduction for these great hymns I wish to present. I thought to show the ways to play this great song.
One does not simply put one’s soul on a sheet of paper. I’ve been to the level of zen he went to here. There’s no real way to write that. You could get chord charts that outline the basics but you’re on your own for the flourishes he adds.
The beauty of "choice" is you have the choice to like his arraignment or not. If you don't you have the choice to stop it. Close the screen and move on. The artist also has the choice to play it the way he chooses. Neither has doctrinal or theological right or wrong to it. And, no one knows what was in the heart of the artist as he played it. And, it only matters to God Himself why he choose to create that arrangement. God will NOT condemn him for whatever artistic arrangement he choose to play. Psalms 98:4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth! Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise! - God does not put theological or doctrinal constraints on how someone should play Amazing Grace. I'm just say'n...
Beautiful. I played this also on my channel. It's a little different. If you get a chance, please check it out also. It's on video # 3. This is beautiful. Thank you for posting friend. maurice
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind but now I see
Was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already come
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far
And Grace will lead us home
And Grace will lead us home
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
Was blind, but now I see
