Nice build video! Love that you just played around with it. The DivKid video demo is great, but what you did actually captures the real experience of this module... aside from the basic way that the gain and attenuverter knobs function and the envelope/ducking effect you can get from CV in those configurations, the there's no "if you put the knobs like this, it'll sound like this!" about this module... That goes double once the L8, FB, and RH switches are flipped! Impossible to have more than a vague idea of what they're going to do until you flip the switch or twist the knob.
@@MoltenMusicTech Thanks for catching the couple of omissions from the build document, I've corrected them already. A full Rabbit Hole + Curiouser is great fun for mixing drums. It looked like you were really enjoying the drums and bass combo through Rabbit Hole.
Arrrrg! No, sadly no and disappointly no. I need to schedule in a week of actual music making. Scheduling seems to work for me - or sheer blood mindedness - otherwise i miss doing the good stuff.
Not a surprise with a tube, but keep in mind it draws 355mA of your precious available rack power. Not as bad as a Bitbox or Strymon at least. I'm convinced a lot of people are dragging their voltage into unreliable territory because they don't track their power use. I've had things like Ornament & Crime refusing to start up when I had Magneto and Expert Sleepers stuff in my main rack. Might be interesting to compare tube to vactrol in another module?
The current draw is +260mA and -95mA. You are right, if you combine these you get 355mA, but that's not how the power is taken from your power rails. You should check your modules power consumption for each positive and negative rail independently, against the power ratings of your power supply.
This is a real thing, even with this module. If you start up your modular rig, make a quick patch using Rabbit Hole, and then let it run for a few minutes, the influence of the tube will change as it warms up. I'd imagine that this could make performance with a pre-patched rig a bit of an issue... Love it though! Probably my favorite end-of-chain module, but you really have to like that dirty, saturated sound that i can't seem to get enough of.

That sounds tasty. I have an unhealthy lust for distortion, this is nice
Great video! Thanks Robin.
You are welcome fella - sorry about the overhead! This is a bit of a keeper - i think Curiouser is going to make it perfect.

Great diy video as usual. Love the scarf btw. Looks sharp on you.
Thank you! 😊
Fab! What a beastie!
Seems to be a really cool tool for sound design.
Any more adventures with the tape machine?

It's exactly why I love how the Trogotronic M/679 can be powered from the rails or an external power supply.
isn´t it important to turn the power switch off while replacing modules ? greetings
Yes, probably, but not always essential
Too bad you didn't show your "ah-ha" moment when you discovered the OH camera wasn't on. That would've been amusing.
You gotta let it warm up 🙄. Youngsters! 🙄

Of course the next level is an electric screw driver.
