Biofumigation is an alternative method to control soilborne diseases. It is based on the use of plants containing glucosinolates which are transformed into isothiocyanates. These molecules are volatile and toxic to soil microorganisms and nematodes.

ansaree97 Right you are I have no tact...but there is a glaring problem in modern farming and its called cutting corners to increase personal monetary profit. The soil worldwide has largely been leached of minerals and microbes that are essential for humans survival, microbes and minerals some of which aren't even recognized OR named. In short the human race is starving to death as their belly fat drips over their belt. It isn't completely the farmers fault, big business has steered them to where they are today, for money. Vegetables and fruit have way less minerals then they used to and its because of farming practices like heat treating and sterilizing the soil, not to mention chemicals. Today's farmer has long sold out the people who directly rely on them for nourishing food. That's why I lose any tact I might have had im fucking starving to death and am almost powerless to do anything about it...
Can we invent a larger version of this machine to defeat the rain forest?
I woke my whole house up to this music. Feeling pumped.
If I understand correctly from the comments; they grow mustard plants for their nutrient and nematodes killing properties.
After the plants mature this machine shaves off the plants and flips them over to do their job.
Sometime later a crop will be planted into this nutrient rich, nearly nematodes free field. ;-)
This was done over two years ago, did it work as expected?

gary mathews lol thanks I was wondering what the plan was but aren't the weeds beneficial with cleaning air and the flowers for the bees?
These "weeds", (likely mustard )when they decompose, offset a toxic gas which kills nematodes (worms that feed on potatoes and such) Here it is a test to see if the plastic film makes it more effective.
They are good for bees as well, but they have to be worked into the soil before they produce seed, otherwise you'll be infested next year.

Проще говоря- дезинфекция почвы. Чтоб не было всякой почвенной дряни.

ok und wird das dann zur Aussat wiede raufgebrochen oder wie, ich frag mich halt wie das aussieht mit der Wasseraufnahme und den Lebensorganismen im Boden, gibts da Erfahrungsberichte? Das sieht ja fast wie betoniert aus :-D
Peter E. Der boden ist so glatt wie auf dem video kaum fähig wasser auf zunehmen. Dazu wird die grünmasse vergoren und verrottet nicht weil kein sauerstoff ran kommt

Sorry i am a noob, can i ask what this is?
Idea, use this machine with bamboo fibers and mix in water activated ceramic and make foundations for homes bsrns green houses and even country roads for farming needs. The ceramic hardens using the soil and bamboo fibers to generate hard surfaces. Just need to go down into the ground at least a foot or two. Would be a very interesting way to construct foundations road ways and path ways saving a shift load of money on labor too! 😉

This is a physical version of soil slaking... No air... no benificial life.. why laminate an ag soil?

No air does not equate to no beneficial life. Respiration occurs and is on going just not the way you and I breath. Anaerobic respiration has it advantages.

There is no ‘finish’ it is all moisture in he soil and it appears that way due to the blue implement on the back. The soil moisture seals the ground while the plant brakes down to kill nematodes. There is still ‘breathing’ going on...it is just anaerobic respiration.

It's done after raining. It's soil mixed with the mown Mustard. The process of mixing the mustard with the soil is called spitting, then behind the machine is a compact roll which closes up the soil by pressing it. It kinda looks like plastic doesn't it ;)
