I love this take of the necromancer in Diablo (new diablo player). Where they are a person of the balance, maintaining the balance between life and death. I love the difference compared to most pop culture where they are seen aa Villians/Evil.
I suppose they went with the wizard/warlock thingie, but transported it to the undead. But it is sort of mainstream too ((the church ruined a lot of it). Satanists weren't that demonic, but the church deemed all these things as immoral. Like Davinci, digging up corpses in the dark to do his studies... I suppose people have always frowned upon such curiosity and the skills that come with it (carving up bodies to gain anatomical knowledge, etc.)
I read every single one of your comments and you guys keep me going. Thank you so much for your support ❤. I know the story of the Diablos can be told from many a perspective, but it makes the most sense with the Necromancer. Or is that just my everlasting Necro main bias? :D
@NyxVellum I never thought about it that way but it changed after your video. Before this I thought we are the creepy uncle of the other classes that does weird dark stuff
@NyxVellum How can they be the good guys if you said they are neither good nor bad? I think perhaps you conflated order and chaos with good and evil. Because the order serving angels make decisions we view as objectively evil. Good and evil and order and chaos are not the same thing. Just my two cents.
Its funny that the Necromancers have probably become the de-facto "hero" class of the series at this point, along with Barbarians. In a sense, their outlook is probably the most grounded and balanced, and thus most best suited to weather the corruptive chaos of fighting against the prime evils (and some shitty angels.)
I love this! Thanks for doing a video on one of my favorite classes. It was surprising to learn the lore of The Chosen Necromancer, and I didn't realize there was a comic put out for her. Gonna have to search for that. It would be great to see a follow up video on Zayl, and Zoranther from "The Caravan" in Tales from the Horadric Library. tho that may also require the re-reading of some books.😅
@@NyxVellum You bet! As a 20-year Diablo fan, it's great to see a channel covering the lore so thoroughly. I also missed mentioning Kara, from Legacy of Blood. And I think I mentioned Mendeln(Kalan) in another comment, as you have here.

I also love the necromancer. I'm just sad that pure minion builds aren't at all viable right now, which makes it more of a dark sorcerer than a proper necromancer with an army.
Beautiful video brother, most informative. Could you make a video revealing the afterlife in Diablo. I have no idea what happens to the dead after they are deceased!
Necromancer was such a fun class for me in D2.. i used to gave 18 skeletons, 12 mage, golemn, and 18 revives going on at once. Fun. Will buy D4 in season 1 and play necro.
Great vid! Subbed👍 Just vile Rathma got murdered by his angel dad of douchness.BTW. Awesome they tossed us left handers a bone ( pun intended ) and have the necros be left handers, though honestly since the left hand animations are THERE. I wish we could choose left or right hand animation set on character creation for ANY class, they just have to fine tune it for the other classes besides necromancers. So the right handed players can feel more attuned to their necros aswell. Second fav class is Druid, balance and caretaking if nature

Can you go more into the Necropolis, cause i find it a bit confusing. Necromancers are from Rathma's Necropolis, which is supposed to be in jungles of eastern Kehjistan. However, in Diablo 4, the main quest takes you to the Necropolis as you trace Lilith's path to find Rathma, but that's under the Fractured Peaks, which is in ruin. What gives? Is there more than one Necropolis?
Although I'm sure that the act of Necromancy is shunned and decried by those who don't understand the way of the Priests of Rathma, it is, like all forms of magic, a tool to be used. The Necromancers of Rathma understand this, and although they use a very dark art, it is for the good of the Balance of Sanctuary. For even in death, they serve the Balance.
Since you're a Diablo fan, what do you think are the canon heroes in each game,i know it's always groups but who do you think were the main men? For me it's... It has been around 70+ lore-wise years since the events of D2. Skovos is greek inspired and since the Amazon is pure-female, the next class will only be derived from the Amazon. I am thinking, a Myrmidon. It will be a sword/board/spear/javelin class. The class fantasy will be similar to Ancient Greek armies.
They are the only mortals with the knowledge to harness necromancy not aligned to the Burning Hells. As much as many can fall to corruption there are those who seek redemption. Reaper of souls events happened 50 years ago in diablo 4, 90% of humanity was wiped, none of that is mentioned or reflected in diablo 4
So “The Necropolis” in the East was created.
The one we go to in Diablo 4 is probably much older and meant for just one.
